Most list based things tend to be heavily opinionated anyway, unless some unbiased criteria is set for it. So even greatest list tend to differ, sometimes hugely. What I'm saying is that I have seen list where games are on it simply because they acted as mediums to which people got into games (for e.g Pokemon and Mario). Often times they (people who create the list) have played other games that they considered better in the genre etc but they still hold certain games (for e.g again Pokemon and Mario) in a higher regard for sentimental reasons.

Do you know how many people hold Shigeru Miyamoto in high regard? Tonnes of game designers, game writers etc have cited his games Mario, Metroid, Zelda etc as some of the main reasons they got into gaming. What I was saying was, its kinda strange that a company like Nintendo that has been around so long in gaming and has been so influential over the years, that for the Cube they couldn't have gotten better third party support?

And don't be naive, there are people have given Mario tonnes of ratings and other benefits simply on name alone.

How about just disregarding those biased ones, it's not like Sony's products didn't get biased ratings too. And please point me to those reviews if you have something at hand. :D

Most Mario and Pokemon games are good though, excluding those sport games. Well Party and Tennis are great too, the first ones at least. Just as the Pokemon games are, exlcuding Ranger/Dungeon and those console titles after Stadium 1/2[the last part is my opinion, a friend of mines loved the Dungeon games]. That's a simple fact.

You shouldn't wonder about a kids favorite list putting Pokemon at the top. If I know there are great games I haven't finished, I would have no reason to put them in my Top 10, even if I knew that they had a chance to get there, till I'm done with those too. As you mentioned personal top lists are opinion based, most serious Top lists aren't though. Further, most of the time all games in the list may change the rank from player to player, but they would still be on the list with some exceptions as always.

OMG! The one thing I did not like about ocarina of time and a few other zelda games was that you could not repeat boss fights. Majora's mask awesome since it allowed you such a thing. I am glad they finally did something about that. Wish I had that gameboy lol.

Good to see nintendo really reaching out to third party developers. With their inherently strong titles. decent support from third parties and a powerful console (more so that PS3 or xbox) then perhaps it will be one of the best consoles ever. Can you imagine a GTA for nintendo? I had wanted that for a while now.

The new Boss Challenge Mode for Ocarina of Time is great news and makes up for the fact that the Last Guardian was delayed.
I can't wait to get myself a 3DS.

I was reading the new nintendo controller is supposed to have a 6 inch lcd touchscreen or something. Wonder if that would be practical at all though?

I can't wait for Ocarina of time but at the same time wants more additions to it like the boss challenge mode :darn

Can they wait until 2014 though? If the new console nintendo is going to release comes at a reasonable price, it is indeed significantly more powerful than either xbox or PS3 and nintendo has improved their relationships with third party developers then competing with the new console will be hard to say the least. Right now PS3 has advantage over every aspect in comparison to the wii (more powerful console and a controller which is at least equal if not better along with PS network and whatnot) however wouldn't the new console change that? If the new console lives up to the expectations the rumors have generated then I would think sony and microsoft will want to have new consoles by as late as early 2013.

So the new console will use a new controller with a screen and also the old ones? Can't say the little details we are given don't confuse me a bit. If the style remains the same as with the wii overall there wouldn't be much improvement? I was honestly expecting entirely new controllers with at the very least the sensitivity and precision the move has and the potential for improvement. The touchscreen is something I am both skeptical and excited about. On one hand it seems a little fragile. I can already see broken shards of glass in a kids eye when they get excited in a sword fight. It would also be awkward to have to look at the screen and the remote that way, not sure I like that. On the other hand the gameplay possibilities are in many ways promising depending on the game. I guess it would work specially well in mini games and family games but in turn it does not strike me as something which would work well in a gamers game.

Asda 2 (New Free Anime MMORPG)

I'm sharing this on all the anime/manga related websites I know. I think people who will most enjoy this game are anime and manga lovers xD

http://asda2.gamescampus.com

GamesCampus has announced the sequel the the anime style MMORPG, Asda Story. It's called Asda 2, and will be starting CBT on May 5th (this Thursday!). I'm really excited! I've played Asda Story for a long time. It has one of the best communities of any MMORPG I've played and I've made some great friends along the way. I really like that it's a game that's as casual as you want it to be. You can compete with others to be the top, or you can sit around chatting with friends or participating in events all day. It's up to you!

Here's some features from Asda 2:

-Vibrant and very unique 3-D Anime-style graphics (we all love anime!)

-8 classes with specialized weapons: One Hand Sword, Two Hand Sword, Spear, Crossbow, Bow, Attack Mage, Healing Mage, Buffing Mage

-Light vs. Dark Faction PvP

-Costume system - Allows you to wear costume pieces to show instead of armor. If Asda Story is any indication...the costumes will be GREAT!

-Soulmate system - Get a soulmate and play together for special skills and perks. Really cute feature. A bit more functional than most marriage systems, but they're adding a marriage system too!

-Other features: Guild system, Crafting, Fishing, Mining, Mail system, Title System, Pets, Night/Day/Weather, etc.

Anyway, I thought I'd share it with you ^^ Here are some screenshots they've posted, and the trailer. (Sorry the images are so large! I don't know how to resize them without uploading them myself. I hope places don't mind the hotlinking xD)

^Have you played Odin Sphere or GrimGrimoire? GKH reminds me of the former especially with that opening.

- Sony CEO will discuss the PSN hack

It looks like Homeland Security and the FBI are involved now.

- According to the composer, Dragon Quest X will be coming next year. Will it be on the new Nintendo console or the Wii?

- Here is info about Grand Knights History.

- Cave Story 3D will be out on Aug. 9th

- Atlus has announced a new game, Nora and the Engraving Studio: The Witch of the Misty Forest, which is being made by Team Etrian Odyssey and Team Atelier.

- Atlus is also remaking Growlanser IV to the PSP.

- Ubisoft might have accidentally leaked out info on a new Assassin's Creed game.

- Tales of the Abyss 3D is coming to North America

Sony has announced that part of PSN will be back this week. Here is the press release

Online gaming service, access to account management and password reset, access to one's friends list with chat functionality, and access to PlayStation Home will be up, but other services such as purchasing games will be up within the month of May. PS3 users will have a firmware update and are required to change their passwords as soon as they log onto the network.

Sony has also initiated a "Welcome Back" program, which includes:

- Each territory will be offering selected PlayStation entertainment content for free download. Specific details of this content will be announced in each region soon.

- All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.

- Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.
As for the credit card information, Sony has claimed that the information has been in a separate location in the system and was encrypted. The passwords were not encrypted, however, but were hashed.

Sony also announced that they have created a new position, Chief Information Security Officer, who will ensure the future accountability of costumer date protection. They also have moved the PSN system to a new data center.

Sony is considering reimbursing credit card replacement costs for users who changed their credit cards.

- More rumors about Project Cafe (Nintendo's new console if you forgot)

Key Points said:
The console, codenamed Project Café, will include 8 gigabytes of on-board flash-based memory, presumably for game storage. That quantity, while nearly 16 times the storage capacity of the Wii, is smaller than the 20GB of room available in the original, optional hard drives offered in 2005 for the Xbox 360. The amount of memory in the new Nintendo console would also be dwarfed by the 250 GB drives offered in current, high-end versions of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The new 2012-scheduled Nintendo system will fall more in line with the 360 and PlayStation 3 by matching those consoles' abilities to render and output graphics in high-definition.

Nintendo's disc format for the new console will hold 25GB of data, I've heard. That capacity is triple the size of the biggest DVD-style discs for Wii and Xbox 360 and comparable to the capacity of single-layer Blu-Ray discs on the PlayStation 3.
- The Wii Vitality Sensor has been delayed

- There is a rumor that Nintendo will start a Wii select budget line this month.

- More infoabout Gloria Union.

Wish I had a Wii to play Muramasa, Odin Sphere was wonderful excluding the massive slow-downs in boss battles.^

- Nintendo will hold a press conference on the 7th of June as this years E3.

They better announce Last Story for NA/EU there too! With a LF Wii edition bundle as they did in Japan. XD
I really doubt that Project Cafe will be backwards compatible, so I would like to gather all the good games, before [used] copies get to expensive on Amazon and co.

Wonder what titles will be announced with the new Nintendo console. A zelda for the new console is unlikely since they are just about to release one for wii although it'd be interesting if they release it for both consoles. A super smash game? That is a reasonably strong franchise and always a popular game. I heard there was going to be GTA for the new console although that hardly is a nintendo title...

Murasama was a great game in spite of the translation and there was no dubs, which hurt the game since some people wanted English so they don't have to read the text to understand the storyline.

Nintendo did mention that they want to put more focus on third-party games, which makes sense since most of them are crappy, and there is a rumor that Rockstar is making one for the new console.

Of course, we'll find out at E3.

Anyway, here are the covers for the Wii Select games.

I don't think nintendo will "focus" on this party producers. It wouldn't make sense since it is a significantly smaller market than the "family" market. The impression I had was that they will try to get both markets by improving third party development relationships.

More focus != complete focus^^

And they have to, if they try to compete with Sonys "second" party support they amassed in this generation. I hope for some nice Level 5 support, maybe a port of the new Ghibli game. It's time for Rockstar to reveal some more infos on GTA also, could be their chance to shine on Nintendos hardware. HAL and the rest of Nintendo's house studios will obviously have something in the oven too. Wish Factor 5 hadn't betrayed them with Lair/Sony, would like to play another good SW game. g

Wii if officially down to 150$.
