Except for Lee, there are no Heroes just normal people that try to survive and NEED to rely on another to survive.

Lee was no typical hero either... he had his weak moments and a pretty messed up back story. For me he was as intriguing as any of the other characters. Of course that depends on how you play.

Not to mention the "WHAT THE....." moments.

To be honest I have been trying to figure out what exactly would be the point of a PS4. In terms of graphics the PS3 already has 1080 HD and that is just about as good as it gets currently (ok, technically ultra HD was released recently but whats the point of that and how long until it is widely available considering that even standard HD is not entirely completely available). In terms of hardware from what I understand the PS3 is still a pretty damn powerful machine and overall more powerful hardware is not quite something which is currently needed. Even if what they wanted was to add a new dimension to gameplay that is not something which would actually require a new console, a software update plus a few gadgets (like with the PS move) would do the trick beautifully. So... what exactly are they trying to accomplish here? I guess they haven't really said anything on the matter but I overall fail to see what exactly it is that PS guys could add to a new console which couldn't be added to the current one. The PS3 was expensive enough as it was and sales were overall not as good as they would have wanted, do they really expect people to pay for the next one? With the wii things were different, there was a need (to some extent, the nintendo wii proves beyond reasonable doubt that graphics and power don't make or sell games) of superior hardware and the amount of money people would have spent on a nintendo wii was to begin with a fraction of what they would have spent on a PS3.

The Wall Street Journal confirmed that Sony will announce the PS4 on said date.

The new system will incorporate “more social gaming aspects” and be more focused on “changes in how users interact with the machine” versus “hardware improvements,” according to the outlet.

At one point, the PlayStation manufacturer considered removing the system’s disc drive in favor for an all-digital console, said The Wall Street Journal. But concerns over game file size and slow internet connections made them scrap the idea. Microsoft is said have made a similar decision.

So....... PS4 is definitely not aiming for significant hardware improvements? DOn't get me wrong, I already suggested that there was hardly any need for more powerful hardware just yet however the idea that they don't aim for hardware improvement is kinda weird to me. What exactly do they mean by "social gaming"? Isn't that online multiplayer? While that is cool and all I have never been much of a fan of it anyways. I prefer to play with people in the room for the part part if I have to multiplay. As for changes in how the player interacts with the machine, I take it they mean better motion gaming for the most part. I guess they could go for something like a tablet controller however it is still to early to tell if people even like that (I haven't had a chance to try it myself). I guess they could have finally gotten to actual brainstorming and figured out something cool as far as gameplay is concerned. Perhaps an even better version of the move achieved by a far deeper integration with the system? I guess they could keep the original move and add components to the new PS4 which make it work even better than in the PS3.... Not sure how that would work.

Or Nintendo's "Dolphin" for the Wii U. That has to be up there with the worst code names ever. Game companies have no sense of poetry. Just once I want one of these new consoles to be codenamed "The Cobra".

IIRC, Sony called it Orbis to match the Vita so it would translate it to "The Eye of Life" or something like that.

I hope that isn't true since a lot of gamers wouldn't be happy with that.

I don't think I'll be getting an XBox. Besides Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey there weren't that many reasons for me to buy an XBox 360, plus I can't even get mine to work anymore (and this seems to happen with a lot of Xboxes). So yeah, I think I'll pass. No offense Microsoft, I enjoyed the 360 a lot, but this supposed new policy sounds pretty messed up. That, and Sony tends to have more exclusives.
