That post about the Assault Squad reminded me of a theory I forgot to post yesterday.

I think Ludociel decided to add Hendy to his squad because he wants him to be a vessel for a Goddess and is hiding it for now. Hendrickson would not be against it considering his reactions. We know there are Goddesses in the Sky Palaces and Ludo visited one after his awakening. It would not be weird for a cunning strategist who likes to be in charge like him to know where many of the relics with powerful Goddesses are.

Or it could be that he found the Horn of Cernunnos at Liones(no confirmation that it's been destroyed in canon and even if it's the case it's clear the Goddess inside is fine). It's implied that he has Margaret's memories after all, even if he doesn't he could have found it while he was inspecting the kingdom or "felt" her power because of special circumstances as usual.

That sounds interesting. However, it seems that Ludoshel is fine with Gilthunder joining the Assault Squad as well. Could it be that it's two vessels rather than one? I think that Ludoshel's more after the druid powers that Hendrickson and Gilthunder (as Zaratras' son) have, perhaps as a way to power up in order to fight Meliodas?

Reasons why think that is SD

1)She is very condescending even compared to other Goddesses.

2)If you take Holy War as canon she said to Meliodas,"If you have come to continue the Battle we fought 3000 years ago" aka the time SD killed Meliodas.

But a TL.DR: She asked Ban to kill Meliodas because she knew the curse would revive him = lost emotions = lose relationship with her daughter Elizabeth (as we see now) and she can possibly get her daughter back whilst the DK gets Meliodas back.

Basically, killing Meliodas grants the possibility of her having Elizabeth back under her thumb.

I think there is only one. He simply had no reason to refuse him. Druids' powers are just an inferior version of the Goddesses's. But yes maybe there is more, if I am right.

Yes we don't know much about the war.So we cannot dismiss either of these statements

,"Meliodas didn't kill all those Goddesses he fought" or "Meliodas killed all the Goddesses he fought".

This makes sense to me. The question is what goddess.... There is no named goddess around for him to be actively searching a vessel for. The only thing I can think of is... goddesses don't have physical bodies currently. So, is that much different from being dead? What makes sense to me is that he wants to get mael's soul into hendricksen's body.

I don't remember the details but it was implied that she was lying in the manga IIRC and in SnS Meliodas says that she was lying. Also, she doesn't say our fight but our war. She was talking about the war between Demons and Goddesses in general.

There was no guarantee, but if she was the SD she would have no reason not to do it since she asked him to kill Meliodas first. Why would she refuse?

But whom? Hendricksen being the host to the supreme goddess would be weird at best considering that the world itself can't resist her. Maybe rather than as a host a proxy though. I guess ludociel could be petty and he selfishly wants to bring back the person he is in love with... To me mael coming back somehow makes sense though.

Hendrickson is clearly just being used to make sure Dryfus remains loyal. He was possessed and knows how ruthless the goddess are. Hendrickson and Gilthunder are insurance to make sure Dryfus doesn't go to the demons with a deal that if humans turn on the goddess and aid the demons. The demons will leaave Britannia alone.

Dunno, I don't really get the impression ludociel has payed all that much mind to dreyfus in general. Not that the stuff that the archangels are doing has gone unnoticed by others. It's not like zariel and tarmiel have hidden even what cheat hope does. The only one that seems to have an agenda so far is ludociel... and if he really wanted to keep dreyfus of his back he'd act less suspicious that keeping the best friend of dreyfus around like that.
