ouch, sleeping with contacts is the worst but glasses aren't so bad, hellbringer ^^ I used to hate wearing them, because I felt like a geek, but then I got a pair that I really like, that totally embrace the geekiness, and life is good...I wear them as much as I wear my contacts now, maybe more when I'm going to classes and stuff

I onlu use my glasses when I'm in my house and I'm not going anywhere. If I'm going out I wear my contacts. It's not because I don't like my glasses, it's just that I feel more confotable with the contacts... and I see better with the contacts.

I have considered wearing contacts. But, the problem is, I'm too scared to put contacts on my eyes cause I fear I might poke my eyes instead.... My friends wear contacts and I've seen them put them on and take them off, but everytime I see them do it, it sends chills down my spine...

You have to get used to them first. In the beggining, when you wear them for the first time in your life, it's probably that they are going to irritate your eyes.
After you get used to them you won't even feel them. I only know that I'm wearing my contacts because I can see and because I remember putting them on in the morning. It doesn't irritate your eyes at all, at least in my case. Unless some dirt or stuff like that enters your eye... but you take out your contacts, clean them and put them on again and you're ready to see again.
If you sleep with the contacts your eyes are going to get dried and irritated... or even they can scratch your cornea (that happended to my mother), that's why you shouldn't sleep with the contacts on.

O thats cool. Do you have special contacts when u wanna go to the Beach(when u wanna go in the water) or to the pool? Or do the same contacts work for that or do u go blind as a bat?

I don't think you can go underwater with your contacts lenses and without wearing goggles. I've never tried, but I think that maybe the water can take of your contacts.
If I go to the beach or a pool, I take my contacts out. I put them on again when I leave the beach or pool.... gladly I'm not as blind as a bat.

Yeah, I had a friend who tried that and his contacts, like, went back into his head or something. I dunno, there was blood. I don't where contacts, but I always wear goggles. I swim competitively, though.

well, anyone want to hear about the drama of my life today? it's pretty funny. I had this nasty blister on my little toe, and it was really bothering me this morning when I was playing tennis (my shoes are no good.... ) I didn't pay much attention to it though, because it was only a blister, I always get those. But then, this afternoon, I tripped over something at work (I do that a lot ) and I looked down at my foot, and noticed my toe was a lot fatter than it usually is

turns out the blister got really infected, there were even red streaks on my foot which I guess isn't a good thing, and I had to go to the hospital to get antibiotics and stuff for it. It's all good now, but waiting 3 hours just for a stupid blister was not exactly a fun time

That's pretty nasty/gross/nasty. So, you're better now, yeah? That's certainly a good thing. I always think scars and stuff on my feet with get infected and I freak out.

moving on wensday, no tv for two weeks, no word on net. im sure ill be back online before i leave for basic though. (with any luck, it'll be close. i want to hurry up and be able to go) so... yeah. i might not be on tomorrow or the next day. ive got a lot of packing and moving still to do. so ill talk to you guys when i can.

yeah... generaly is a good sign if your toe stays glued to your foot. So, if it falls off, you just need to buy some crazy glue and pu in on again.
You should get new tennis shoes.

@ PaperYomiko Yea like the_hellbringer said when i get injured i always think of it a good thing when my body parts dont fall off. If glue doesnt work duck tape will work. Like i always say Duck Tape is like the force(Star Wars) it has a light side..a dark side and it keeps the universe together.

same here!! I wanted to switch to contacts, but the whole idea of remembering to put it on and taking it off at night kinda puts me off. glasses are simple; contacts need time and care but I'm always whizzing here and there just so I won't be late in the morning.

But it's hard when you have to watch your fren squirming with her contacts with her eyes bloodshot red because the contacts somehow got stuck up her eye. Gross. I just don't like the idea of putting something in my eye.

I will never look at duct tapes the same way. hmm.. it got me into thinking.. duct tapes can also be use to wax ur legs. just paste it on and rip it off.

yup it was oozing... but it's fine now, just have to get myself some better tennis shoes ( that's what happens when you buy a $40 pair... )

anyway....about contacts.....they really aren't so bad. I first got them when I was 14, because I refused to wear my glasses since I thought they made me look geeky. At first they feel weird, and it kinda creeps you out to have to touch your eye, but you get over that. Anyway, why not try them if you're curious, you don't have to keep using them if you don't want to
