cleats are running shoes with little spikes sticking out of the bottom of them. they are used in turf sports to get better traction. soccer, baseball, lacrosse, our football, etc.

@ impel, i think the weird stick Canadian sport your thinking of is hockey ô.o but lacrosse does have a weird stick.. but I'm pretty sureit cam from france... it sounds french...

as for Manning be better than Brady... lets examine that claim, shall we?
Brady has thrown 148 completions for 1771 yards, and 21 touchdowns.
Manning, in contrast, has 115 completions 1319 yards, and only 10 touchdowns.

advantage: Brady.

It's because the sport that became more popular here much earlier in America was initially called football, which did originally start out as more of a kicking sport loooong time ago, before it became more like rugby (and then later, even more complicated than that). They did stop kicking during most of the action later on, but we do still have kickers that can be very important in determining a victory or loss (there's been tens of thousands of games that came down to a kick - in a punting, kickoff, or field goal instances.)

Still, I won't argue that soccer probably does have a right to be called "football" more nowadays, but good luck in trying to convince the American people to change their mind

maybe American's play football with their socks....

Heh, well, don't knock it. It's a fun sport, once you get to understand it. Lots of physical contact and amazing athletic plays and, best of all, heavy hitting, that's for sure. You think they'd wear all that gear if they didn't have a reason? XD

Imagine a 320-pound, 6'8" big man trying his darnedest to hit you and throw you to the ground. I had to go thru something like that in a state championship game once XD

I'm with Pirate on this one! No soccer, it's FOOTBALL!
My boss just told me my office might be moving to a new location. Fortunately, it's closer to my home, so instead of +90mins taking two bus to get to work, it will only take 40 mins! Awesome! But we'll probably move after December.

Lol. Are you kidding me Colts... Did you see the Pats game against the Dolphins...Moss's catch was amazing!

Its not only Brady and Moss...Its the team as a whole. They all work together to make them a better team, Some people just dont understand that it's not becasue of the good players that make a team great, but becasue of everyone working together successfully.

Thats also why I like the San Antonio Spurs for basketball.
