f*cking out i hate math! I don't care if f bis is one million or if the function is a fourth degree equation or a first degree equation. I HATE IT AND I'M GONNE GET TOAST DURING THE EXAM TOMORROW!!!

And I've come to feel "meh" about math as well, after I realized I took 5 math classes in 2 years(i.e. 2 more math classes than the average science program )

It's what we say in sweden "3rd degree math"
We have to read four classes if you study nature science. . and the other programs are like, one, two classes.

I'll give you a simple example.

D(x^4/4 - x^2/2 -1)=D(x^4 / 4)-D(x^2 / 2)-D(1) = x^3-x-0 = x^3-x

Well I feel you, I've taken 2 classes too many. Regular science programs(ex: Health Science or Pure & Applied) only require 3 math classes(Calculus1, Calculus2 and Linear Algebra), but my program made me take Calculus 3 and Differential Equations >.> Apparently the last 2 I'll have to re-take in University if I go into certain programs anyways(but I think they get credited IIRC).

Well I feel you, I've taken 2 classes too many. Oh, well that's nice! I'm not sure what type of math it is. In our third course or "class" we take both Derivative equations, a study of functions with derivatives, a study of functions, and exponents. So basically it's all about 3rd degrees functions and stuff.

I dislike Biology >.> Too much darn remembering. Couldn't they have given the stuff easy names?? O_o Only part I like are the dissection labs

Cal 3 isn't so bad, I haven't taken differential equations(was going to but i have taken Statics and engineering physics), is bio ok, Although the labs are too much, especially the fetal pig has so so many veins and arteries to remember.

I hate chemistry, I like physics and Math, and i am indifferent about Bio.

I liked Chemistry actually. But maybe because everyone failed and I passed lol (I think the class average at the end of the semester for Chemistry NYB was 53% and I scored 84%).

I found Cal3 pretty easy(got 91% in it without much effort) and Differentials I got 75% on my first exam and I hadn't ever done a problem nor opened the book(nor even re-read my notes) so it's pretty easy so far.

The pig was my favorite lab so far! Idk why, I found it fun to chop it open and I was the only one who didn't mind either the smell nor the sight of it >.> Actually, people found me for starting to play with the colons and stuff

Physics is ok I guess. I can't say I'm overly interested by it. In fact, I can't say I'm overly interested in any class I've had. In their own way I find them interesting, but I dont' really see one as more pertinent than the other >.>

Btw Sarry, you have R-scores over where you live too right? Seeing as you're in Quebec as well >.>

Labs are awesome! Yesterday we used GC and HPLC to check out the % of alcohol on my friends home-distilled licker.

We got it to 76.5%

woho! :- D

and i've never dissected a pig. . Only lamb-intensities and organs. Also a couple of organs from cows. It was awesome, we had a liver-fight!

Yup I have an R-score, well, it is the same, if not similar, system.

For the fetal pig, it was fun cutting the pig: I was the one who dissected the most on my team, and I destroyed the thymus and thyroid glands while cutting the skin. I would have enjoyed playing with the pig, but the teacher made sure nobody was "irresponsible or childish" towards the pig, so anybody who played would fail the lab.

For physics, the first three(NYA, NYB and NYC) were ok, i was indifferent about them, but now i am doing a complementary course about engineering, and it the most interesting science course I've done so far, IMO.

I personally dislike chemistry, something about watching acids react with bases or imagining molecules that exist, but way way small.

I personally like math more than Physics, Chem or bio. It is mostly about logic and sense.

Well math is a tool as my teacher once said. It is an attempt to understand & model certain aspects of life, but it isn't representative.

For example, in my Differentials class, we have a model to explain population growth and in that formula, there is a factor called "population capacity". According to the math, there is no way different solutions can cross, therefore there cannot be a population which grows and goes over that capacity, but in real life, there is no reason it should not(in fact, I believe he said that we'd passed the population capacity for certain parts of the world).

Btw I'm pretty sure it's the exact same R score system since that's a government thing and we have the same government lol Sheep guy!

For example, in my Differentials class, we have a model to explain population growth and in that formula, there is a factor called "population capacity". I remember my Cal2 teacher making a mention at that, he actually gave a small, slightly detailed lecture on that for one class. He said a similar thing, that we surpassed the limit, but soon we will go under that line, after a war or so.

Well, Math is also a tool for statistical analysis for biology, Chem, and even physics. I have a Bio project this semester, which is easy but so embarrassing to test for:
The hypothesis is that a person will protect your stuff if you have to go but you ask him/her to look after them. Today I did the test with my partners.

Btw, if you don't mind me asking, how's your R score look? Are the standards the same over there in Montreal or higher/lower? I mean, is 30 considered high or low? I once talked to a friend from Abitibi and she said that 20 was considered average for them

Well, here a 30-something r-score is considered very good, high 20s are average, and middle 20s are considered not very bright.

The best bio project Idea i heard was about taste, and using the difference between Coca cola, and Pepsi. There is also the done-to-death Redbull effects on studying

Mine consists of blindfolding people and making them eat skittles and guessing the color. Then we block their nose and repeat the experiment and note how many each person got right.

Mine's been done before I think(the topic at least), but my teacher fears it won't work due to people's bad taste lol For example, she fears some people won't be able to tell what a yellow skittles tastes like versus say a green one >.>

And your R-score standards seem pretty similar to ours then. 30s is usually very good and high 20s are average. Highest I've seen personally(i.e. not heard of) is my friend's 36.7 O_o
