They still need to fix that "life action" to live action when setting it on an article

Release Date HAS BEEN SET:July 2nd,2010
(http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=44122)
Director:M NIGHT SHYMALAN(no bull check link above)

Story Line: (basically the the same from the show)
The Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war against the other three nations. The film's hero, the reluctant young Aang, is the "Last Airbender" -- the Avatar who, according to prophecy, has the ability to manipulate all of the elements and bring all the nations together. Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world.

What he's basing it on:the show which he hopefully watches with his kids, and Hayao Miyazaki-Sama's work

My opinion:needs the rapper (as he used to be called until he was 16, lil) romeo as sokka especially since i know it's being done by the Nick Studios. and Haley as Zuko or Aang(just no stupid lines from his previous work) And Bruce Willis as uncle Iroh

One on one with M Night himself:

Re: Avatar:the Last Airbender

I don't think that Hayao Miyazaki produces Avatar.

Cartoon top - movie flop? :D M. Night Shyamalan's movies get worse and worse. I really hope that he does not destroy the "franchise". Especially when it will end [hopefuly] great in july.

Re: Avatar:the Last Airbender

Hmm. I'm always weary of bringing an animation to life, but if Shyamalan can do it like Speed Racer, then I'll welcome it. Speed Racer was a lot of fun, and the closest to an acceptable 'real-life cartoon' that we can get for now.

Also, Shyamalan's reputation has been on the decline as of late (heard from a friend that The Happening was pretty bad), but this may turn out different since there should be no twist endings to work around.

Re: Avatar:the Last Airbender

The problem with Shyamalan is that the beginning is mostly pretty good, but his ending are getting crappy and crappy.

I don't know how he could make a good story out of 2 hours from 60 episodes.

Re: Avatar: the Last Airbender

He can do it anyway I thought pretty much everything but the ending of the happening was F***ING AWESOME from the kid getting shot through the head with a shot gun to a police officer shooting himself with his own gun then people also effected by the compound going over picking up the gun and offing themselves one after another

Only reason I didn't like the ending (except for the last minute) was because it was more of a "warning" to the people then anything else the last minute I was laughing because I knew it was happening again automatically when I saw them walking through the park.

You should refrain from posting spoilers for new movies. ^^ Especially the end. I did not say ,that I have seen it now. g

I'm not say what I mean when I say warning or anything anyway based on M night's pervious works that he could have made many sequels to(Especially the 6th sense) he probably won't make another "Happening" so the last minute was actually pretty irrelevant other then whatever in the movie happened is happening there

Anyway back on topic M night could possibly revive himself because we don't know how he handle's adaptions and he's never done a truly family friendly movie he's always done his bizarre PG-13 thing and just dipped into R. I know Avatar will atleast get a PG-13 rating because the show's content mixed with M night's style

Re: Avatar: the Last Airbender

Hm yeah there was torture in the series, so it's more mature than other Nick cartoons. Let's hope the chacters look more like the original than the cast in Dragon Ball. I don't want a westernized adjusted version.

Re: Avatar: the Last Airbender

if you read the article posted with the one on one interview he says "I'm a huge fan of the show" and he knows unlike dbz which was in need of a western adjustment("over 8000!!") AND modernization to appel todays crowd who haven't watched DB. He knows millions of kids teens and adults watch Avatar and want to see bald headed Aang in his monk robe(I weuld love to see him in his season 3 robe more then his 1 and 2 robe) kicking the ass of Zuko which I wonder if they're going to make his burn more hideous or just the game

Re: Avatar: the Last Airbender

Shabrak, I think that he can and will be doing it independently from the anime. As, everything in the anime will be there, but the story itself will be independent.

And Bea Rabbit - the bendings will be prolly CG'd.

Re: Avatar: the Last Airbender

He/she could have meant the trailer. The new trailer is pretty good too, but I don't know if M.N.S. will stay for more, as it's only the plot from the the first "book".
