Moving to a prominently bigger place with lots more storage area is gonna be a relief. But yeah, I do hope I can get some friends and family to help since Jenny will be more pregnant then (and not allowed to do heavy lifting). Still, we’re not exactly hoarders so we don’t have that much to move anyway.

My old boss usually lends me “my old truck” when I need to, so that’s one problem out of the way at least. A couple of trips with that one filled and we’re good. :nod

It always seems far worse at the time than it appears in retrospect.

Well, everything is less troublesome in retrospect, but it‘ll still take a while. Transporting stuff via public transportation.. not the best idea I‘ve had. Renting a van works much better.

Packing is always a pain to me. Going thru the stuff we keep and reviewing if we rly wanna keep them again and why... separating things correctly, disposing and donating stuff, acommodating others... kind of a heavy process that seems to take forever...

Would have, should have - but my wife giving birth didn't give me much time to plan a tidy move.

Within the [less than a] week that she was in hospital, recovering, I found an apartment, rented it, tidied up my old one (and sorted out all the shit that comes along with that), and transported everything to the new one [including deconstructing and then later reconstructing far too much Ikea furniture] - so it'd all be ready (and stress free) for my wife and kid to move in.

Probably should have found a place before then, but the kid was a bit early and I really didn't want to move into anywhere too shitty...
