@MadDookie: It is also known (thanks to the US being idiots in translations and regulations) as Robotech; That version combined the original Macross series with two virtually unrelated series in order to fit US broadcasting regulations.....
The ship itself is the main warship of the series Super Dimension Fortress Macross, the SDF-1 Macross....

If you think the Goldion Hammer is bad....the Goldion Crusher is 3, repeat THREE, spaceships combined into a giant hammer....then wielded by the GaoGaiGar....it's REALLY powerful.....
