I know there are several rumors floating around about Scooper Gaban being the man marked by flames, which is possible, however Im almost positive that the man marked by flames is one of these 2:

Doringo from the Roger Pirates or

Millet from the Roger Pirates.

The reason being is that Oda loves Vicke The Viking and Dragonquest.

At the end of Vicke, on the last island of their journey they found ancient eggs that later hatched

And in Dragonquest (this season was done completely with Akira Toriyama, who got angry cause they didnt pay him) they found the worlds last Dragon Egg, who if you murder it and drink it's blood, you gain eternal life. (which may explain where all the dragons went in One Piece)

Once the dragon hatched it had the standard storm related powers however before Baramos, the Arch fiend could flood the world, it grew to full size and went crazy.

As I recall Oda made a note stating that the egg on Roger's ship had hatched.

But we know the egg was still on the ship when Roger disbanded the pirates.

But we also know what happened at the battle of Edd War

In the midst of their battle, a sudden hurricane hit the area, destroying half of Shiki's fleet and giving Shiki part of a steering wheel stuck in his hard head, forcing his crew to retreat.

And allegedly the man with the burn scar according to Laffitte, Hinokizu is said to be able to create ocean vortexes while sailing which swallow up any ships that come too close to him.

Whichever Roger pirate it is, they clearly got burned as the Dragon grew up, and or hatched.

Since we are going into Elbaf, it's probably Millet, but because of the viking aesthetic and edd war first appearance it could be Doringo. Either way it's clearly a former Roger pirate or someone with that egg.

In a crazy world it could be Akainu's father who may have left the marines to protect the poneglyph and be a pirate and hating him Sakazuki burned him. Who knows, but it's just my two cents.

So either of them may be with the Government like Shiryu said, huh?

Maybe but it's definitely the dragon/egg causing the whirlpools.

It's definitely Millet. Why?

That egg is interesting.

It's definitely something ancient and extinct.

Aren't there supposed to be myths in Elbaf about stuff like a Great Red Serpent?

What if it's that thing..

Unless that's symbolic and I just didn't get it lol

I mean, we don't really know anything that has withstood their attack, so what are they referring to that they know it won't work on?

It does seem like we're due for more of Roger's crew to turn up, and now that we've seen them in flashbacks, it seems unlikely (though not impossible) that Oda can pull that trick again where someone we met in the past turns out to have been a Roger Pirate. I also agree it would be an interesting twist if one of them struck some kind of deal with the WG.

Maybe the myth in Elbaf could have something to do with Jörmungandr from Norse mythology, but I don't recall it coming up yet in the OP world?

The most common interpretation of what they mean in that image is the Red Line. Dawn&Dusk (and also another Japanese Youtuber, though with a completely different argument) recently put out an interesting theory that Imu's demon form is of a dragon though. Because snakes are often considered comparable with (both non-winged and winged) dragons in Japan, part of that theory also includes that this line about the "bloodstained snake" refers to Imu. (I'm not as much on board with that part of the theory but the rest of it is pretty interesting imo.)

I always thought the giant bloody snake was just how the giants called the Red Line, given the context

That never did make much sense to me, though.

🦒

Did anybody expect them to break the Red Line with their Hakai style attack? Did they try to do it at some point? Why would they try to break the Red Line in the first place?

It would be just a way of saying that their attacks can destroying anything, except the Red Line which is indestructible

So we not considering it is the mystery silhouette in the double spread where Vegapunks speech climaxes, one of the people to find One Piece?

We assuming the Burn Scar is just hiding the Poneglyff to block anyone from finding One Piece? Not planning to use its info for themselves?

Don't we do that with every silhouette though?
- The common opinion is that it is the silhouette guy. People also say it's Shanks' brother, and that Shanks' is the son of Garling, and they all apparently have Coc, and they're master swordsmen among other things.

It's not really a consideration as much as it is an idea everyone already thinks is true despite how many weird little leaps of logic they make.

I stand by my theory. If it isn't Millet, it is definitely Hanafuda.

Even if I don't necessarily agree with the prediction, I like it quite a bit! It's a good segway to introduce some undisclosed pirates of that era.

Keep it up!

View media item 29201The Burning Man could very well be this guy.

I've also came up with another theory after Saturn got burned to death. That it might be a former Celestial Dragon that turned on them like Mjosgard did.

But if Oda is going to use Millet, as The Burning Man or not, now would be the perfect time especially if I'm correct about the Holy Knights being the main antagonist of the arc.

Yes it's symbolic

The only thing that can withstand their attack is the Red Line

It seems very likely they are referring to Red Line, but that's not by any means 100% certain.

Those skulls are no indicator. Katakuri, Germa's or few dozens of other characters also have them. Maybe it's a brand of clothes in One Piece world or Oda really like to put that skulls on outfits.
