Well... truthfully, the worst I did was beating someone over the head with a pillow.

Now I've got a pickaxe for research... so I don't want to be tested.

Yesterday almost everyone got drunk - I didn't - and nuts - debatable. First time seeing someone passed out on a couch. Ended up watching movies late (meh, Mulan was okay... She is the Man was meh). Dozed in the common room watching Sherlock with the resident international student and class affectionate-but-still-not-a-couple-yet.

Today looks to be a nice calm day for research. Phew.

I confess I am having the weirdest birthday ever. Not bad weird, but just weird to me. I think back on the last few years and... well, I didn't ever think I'd be spending a birthday in the middle of the Pacific, let alone with people outside of my close family who care. I slept in, walked with a friend to find medicinal plants, sailed in Pao Pao with classmates... it's so strange and amazing, because I just never imagined that I'd ever have a birthday that mattered. I feel like I'm holding my breath, as if the now could be destroyed any second. I guess I am so used to being ignored or being the inspiration that I don't know how to take being treated as a comrade?
