"We know each other! He's a friend from work" Fucking LOL
Pretty good trailer, I'm just slightly bugged by how much some of these trailers are trying to recreate that GotG feel, same with Suicide Squad back last year or whenever it came out. Besides that, I'm really looking forward to Taika Waititi's take on this 3rd installment.

I can definitely see the similarity between Guardians of the Galaxy's trailer and this one but to me that's a great thing. Mainly because I feel like Thor Dark World was the worst Marvel movie. This looks so drastically different than that. If it ends up similar to Guardians of the Galaxy, which I consider Marvel's best movie, that's a best case scenario for me.
It's pretty shocking to me how Marvel seems to find these directors. Taika Waititi has done nothing that suggests he could make a big budget superhero movie and yet the trailer looks fantastic. If this is as good as the trailer makes it look this will be their best find yet. All he's directed before are some low budget films and 4 episodes of Flight of the Concords.
If this turns out well the leadership over at DC has got to be green with jealousy.
I really can't wait for The Mummy reboot (please let it be good), Alien: Covenant, Wonder Woman and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. They seem like they have massive potential to be something incredible, particularly Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
As for Thor, I'm just hoping it isn't really bad. I just have this sinking feeling that it will just be 99.9% "comedy" with little to no story or character development. It seems to be a growing problem with Marvel.

Wonder Woman is the only DCU movie that I'm looking forward to, which I didn't really expect but its first teaser really got my attention and finally seeing Diana appearing on the big screen as a standalone is definitely worth checking out.
The comedy is always welcome for me, as long as it's well incorporated into the story. My gripe with Marvel is the lack of credible villains and the casting of accomplished actors to portray them, as they believe their previous works can be translated to the big screen of comic book movies. This was particularly annoying for me with Mads Mikkelsen in Doctor Strange; it just felt like such a miscast and waste of his acting chops.
So, as cool as I think Hela's helmet looks in Ragnarok, I'm pessimistic about her portrayal. I'm still looking forward to it, because Hulk and we're bound to learn more about the infinity stones again, since Thor mentioned wanting get some answers at the end of Civil War.
After a week or so of teasing, we finally get the Kingsman trailer:
I quite enjoyed the first one, especially that insane church scene and Samuel L Jackson's quirky character. I hope this one can get close to that in terms of action and just entertainment level.
I really enjoyed Guardians of the Galazy Vol 2. I loved the colorful pinball space visuals. The characters are still their most lovable selves. Some of the jokes are absolutely hilarious. Soundtrack is again strong as hell. But the film is also cheesy as hell. But in a good way. Brought tears to my eyes at the end. Oh, and baby Groot is absolutely adorable.
Honestly it isn't that phenomenal a film, but as a fan of the first installment and Marvel in general, it was a joy ride. Rocking the Awesome mix Vol 2 on Sportify right now.
I mean that the first one didn't have much of a plotline. What you do get is thrown at you nearly at the end. The rest of the film is just humor (as in they focused only on that).
Just a quick heads up... Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2 is out this weekend here in North America so I recommend picking up your tickets in advance if you can. Our local theatres are already booked up, pretty much.

: a connected series of occurrences that form the plot or part of the plot in a story or drama
Guardians Vol 1 did have a plotline. Albeit quite silly and over the top, it had plenty of plot.
Star-Lord steals mysterious orb, that is also wanted by Ronans goons. Star-Lord thinks it must mean its valuable, and decides to screw his boss. This leads to Ronan sending assasin Gamora after him and Yondu putting up a bounty, which places bounty hunters Rocket and Groot to the plot. Wild hunt after Star-Lord commences, and the whole bunch are arrested and sent to jail for going crazy in streets of Xandar. -> In jail they meet Drax, who wants Ronan dead. They dysfunctional bunch realize they have common goals, and work together to get out. They reach their goal and get to the buyer of the mysterious orb. The orb is infinity stone, and explodes. Ronan finds the divided bunch and easily defeats them and gets the orb. On the chase, Starlord rather saves Gamora and get caught up by Yondu, rather than escaping after the orb. They negoatiate a truce with Yondu and decide to save the Galaxy from Ronan. They proceed doing so, by contacting and officer they met at Xandar, making a plan and attack Ronans ship. The ship crashlands. They fight last time and win. Their crimes are pardoned and they learn Star-Lord is half-human only. The end.
Not maybe the most genious of plotlines, but definetly plenty of causality in a series of events. Sure, there were jokes and actions, but it did have a plot. Thats why it was so succesfull for a action-adventure. That and the well told story of finding love (as in family) in the most unexpected of places, if you just empraise the moment.

Yes, it had a "plot". I was trying to be a dick by saying it barely had anything and what it had was really overwhelmed by the need to focus on humor. :P
Imagine if the plotline had been expanded on instead of the jokes or given a bit more than it was. The movie could have real potential as a phenomenal Marvel all around—not just for the humor.

Why? Then it would have been a completly different film in style.
Besides the film used it jokes brilliantly. They weren't just jokes for the sake of cheap laughs and easing the tension like in most films. The film used the humor of the characters to introduce them and their personalities to us. And continued telling their story and feelings thorough the humor.
If you want a more serious space adventure, maybe the franchise title based of a ragtag group consisting of a talking raccoon and telepathic dog (among others) maybe isn't right the place to do it.
Imho one reason why Guardians was so well liked, was that it realized, admitted and embraced what it was. A rather goofy comic book movie. It didn't take itself too seriously, which has been a problem imo with comic movies lately - trying too hard to be serious.
Guardians how ever did not go the just the direction of flashy effects and cheap jokes. Underneath all that is actually very well structured and told story. It has a very well written script.
Not saying like it's the greatest film ever, but what it does, it does well. And better than most big flashy action blockbusters. As far as light entertaining flicks go, I honestly think there is more going on for Guardians than it is given credit for.
