The new Spider-Man movies look so damn video-gamey to me. I guess that might be what they're aiming for, though, appealing more and more to the "video game generation" (which honestly should be more than one generation right now). I still think it looks pretty terrible, though.

I completely agree with this. I wasn't much of a fan of the first movie. It seemed like a lot of people enjoyed it because the chemistry between Peter and Gwen, otherwise it seemed a little dull. I don't think I'm much of a fan of Garfield as Spidey either, to be honest.

Well, I think you don't have to judge it on trailer... I liked the first movie. I don't like the overly vivid colours

E.g. this rhino is definitely based on ultimate spiderman's rhino

Furthermore, I would not be suprised if preparations are made for the sinister six... You can clearly see vulture's wings and octo's tentacles

Do not forget that the film is still in post production, the cgi will clearly rock...

Rhino, Electro and Goblin... This movie will be great.

Just saw who was going to be wonder woman. Bit weird for me, I get the impression they could have chosen someone that actually looks a bit more like the actual wonder woman. She is beautiful but at least right now she doesn't seem to look much the part. Its not like there have been more wonder womans which would justify not picking someone that looks more the part. Would have loved to see kate beckinsale as wonderwoman. That would make more sense to me.... She already has experience in action movies and kicking ass in general. Any thoughts on who might make a decent wonder woman?

Not sure what that means. I mean, if we are talking brazil amazon or something then neither my suggestion nor the person they picked makes a shred of sense. If we are talking about the actual amazon women myth and the person is supposed to be greek looking then I have no idea whatsoever if the person they cast makes sense or if the traditional wonder woman look would fit at all with that.

I actually enjoyed the new spiderman movie more than the previous ones... I am not much of a fan of tobey mcguire at all. Its not like his movies were bad, I just don't like the guy. I don't really have a look in my mind which spiderman should have so I didn't mind garfield for the role at all. If anything he made more sense than the other guy IMO.

Not in any conceivable way was he better. And the first one was bad too, so we will never agree on the Spidey topic it seems. Don't let the third movie cloud your judgement.

She got no mucles and all that talk about her having gone through some israeli military training with krav maga don't turn that skeleton of a person into a good Diana.

To be fair though, wonder woman is not actually muscular or anything of the sort. The comic book wonderwoman has more of a super model figure (except with more improbable proportions) than a she-hulk one. Worst case scenario wonder woman has to be toned but never so much that she looks muscular.

She's fit, but also has muscle. The problem is that they are already filming so she won't be look good anyway unless she's going on a cycle. :P

Amazons, from Greek mythology. That's what Wonder Woman is based upon...

My impression was exactly the opposite, Garfield was a better visual fit for spiderman. Isn't spiderman a skinny nerdy kid with superpowers? I guess it depends on which particular you are refering to however I have never actually seen a spiderman I would associate with maguire.


But what does that look like? If it is a truly greek girl I have my doubts about her looking much like the traditional wonder woman to be honest.

In the vast mayority of pictures she is NEVER muscular, at most toned. Very few actually depict her in the slightest to be muscular. At least the ones from the comic do not appear to be very muscular at all to be honest.

With muscular I also meant that she has some muscle not the bare minimum that allows her to breath and walk. :P

Sorry to drag us back onto the Spidey topic, but what I've been hoping for since I heard Gwen Stacey is in the reboot series is [SPOILER="SPOILER FROM THE COMIC]"The Night Gwen Stacey Died", when Spidey snaps Gwen Stacey's neck in an attempt to save her[/SPOILER]

That was one of the most emotionally charged and intense moments of any comic book series ever, and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't like Spider-Man all that much. If they can pull that off in the movies in a good way, I'll give them credit where credit is due. If they use Gwen Stacey in these movies and don't go with that plot development at all, I'll think even less of these movies. But from having seen the first movie and the trailer for the second one, the hope of that happening is the only thing keeping my interest in the series.

As for the Wonder-Woman thing... I'm much more interested in another movie involving Wonder-Woman and Batman.

But that's it, if you like Spiderman then it is mainly because of spidey himself and not because of Peter Parker. This spiderman is more sarcastic and snarky than the previous one like you said. If you like Peter Parker then it is mostly because of his background, his life and torment alongside with it. Both these things were filmed better than in the previous spiderman movies.

+ in this new installment: one main plot is spread out over different movies. Oscorp industries and its villains is the essential key behind it. You even start to wonder if Peter Parker got in that room easily on purpose.

Overall: these movies will be more appreciated than the previous ones. But you will have to give the entirety a chance instead of judging it already now by just one movie. The Amazing Spider-man is unlike its predecessor one main story in different movies.

Doc Ock as Superior Spider-Man is the best spidey of the last five to ten years, so it doesn't really have to be about Spidey even. :P I would chose him over any movie SM, but we have to get another origin story with PP...

A look back to 2013 with lot's of good looking movies, some that are quiet bad and some that I've already seen. 2014 will be a great movie year, when I finally get to see the majority of those.

Nah, no need for that, it's pretty good and enjoyable, from the same guy who directed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and more recent Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki[Wolf Children]. And I think the first two Digimon movies, which were good too if someone still remembers them.
