Gran Torino was good, and I always recommend watching Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...

Yeah, I watched Gran Torino some weeks ago and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was some... Serenity about it. And even though the movie was kinda slow and perhaps even dull, you felt like you had to keep watching. And the ending was quite awesome too, not what I expected.

When I was a kid, I use to watch Labyrinth a lot of the time as well! It use to scare me in a good way lol.

Yeah, a movie produced by Will Smith featuring his son, how coincidental... Not to mention he's only 11-12 years old which is much younger than the original one. Even if the movie by some miracle turns out to be semi-entertaining, it's no way going to be as fun as the original.
Only thing I'm looking forward to is seeing some Jackie-chan fights because I happen to like those scenes, which I'm sure they'll totally insert into it.

Okay, maybe that's a little harsh, but...why China? Why couldn't that kid be in Japan? Sounds like they just want to bank off another Jackie Chan movie to me. I hold a grudge against this movie until I see it and it disprove my initial reaction.

EDIT: AHA! I was googling and found the facebook fo rthe movie. It actually says they may end up calling it The Kung Fu Kid. If that's the case then I have no more complaint.

I'd actually be more pissed if they don't get "You're the best" by Joe Esposito for the montage! Oh and also if they don't include the line "Sweep the leg".

Believe me, after watching the movie at the cinema I was!!!!!!

I don't usually believe all the hype and promotion when it comes to certain films, but I gave this a go because a lot of my friends and people around me thought it was good. Man, were they WRONG!!!!!!! loool seriously, it was really bad imo!!!

I never get the hype of disaster movies. A majority of what happens in those movies can pretty much never happen in real life. I remember watching the Day After Tomorrow in my Astronomy class (the teacher also taught Earth Space Science) and he told us everything in the movie that is not plausible, or if it is plausible, it just doesn't work like it said in the movie.

Like the North Atlantic Current that it was talking about? The only way for it to reverse like that is if the Earth suddenly changed rotation.

Yeah, I want my disaster movie with scenarios that have actual science merit.

Lol, I think it was a baseball bat. I watched it a few years ago and as I was terribly bored I didn't pay as much attention as I usually. It might have been a bowling ball instead. But I think it was a baseball bat

Sigh, that scene is the culmination of the entire film. To watch it out of context would be a disservice to Daniel Day-Lewis, Paul Anderson, and yourself. However, if you do not have the patience for a 2.6 hour period piece that examines the negatives of a particular personality type, don't watch any of it.

Neither of those are correct and There Will Be Blood in no way belongs in this thread.


On another note, only a small number of films actually belong in this thread. It's reserved for the worst movies you've ever seen, not the relatively recent films that you didn't like (just criticize those in the regular movie thread). Now, I advise some of you to go watch Troll, Troll 2, or Zardoz to gain some proper perspective and education as to how limited your use of the superlative should be.

Lol, don't come here and educate me like that. That's my personal opinion. Personally I hated There Will Be Blood. I'm quite aware of how to analyze a film and know if it's a masterpiece or a piece of shit as I've gone three years to a media school where I got thorough teachings in how to analyze movies >_> I hated There Will Be Blood. For me it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, period. I'm quite aware that it in fact has great depth and is a good movie, but personally it bored the hell out of me and I view it as shit. Actually Oscar winning movies are often rather bizarre and weird, and requires a great deal of thinking about it, and often a requirement for them is to fit your taste. In this case this movie didn't fit mine. Take the Curious Case of Benjamin Button for example, another Oscar winning movie. It's a great film, it has real depth about life and death etc, but it's incredibly slow, and to some it can easily be a really boring movie and make them feel like it sucks.
