I finally saw The Hangover; it was getting a lot of hype so I decided to see if it was worth it, and verdict? very worth it. I was not disappointed, laughed at most of the jokes, storyline was not the greatest but the journey of the story is what made the film. I'd recommend it to a friend

The Hangover must have been ruined for me because of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It was just so much farther over the top it makes the Hangover pale in comparison. Of course it didn't help that we watched Big Man Japan right before it and that was the funniest thing I have ever seen...

My verdict is The Hangover was decent, but it didn't live up to the hype.

I watched Harry Potter and and the Half-blood Prince last night. Yes, I didn't see it before .

The movie wasn't as good as its predecessors. May be because I was expecting the Dark Lord vs. Harry or something. Overall, the movie was quite slow at times.

They edited the crap out of that movie though, plus, it's sort of like a lull before the thrilling climax.

At least, I thought it was thrilling. And yes, I even teared up a little for a minute. I'm really glad they split the end into two parts, because you really can't cut much from it and even begin to touch the full story.

Being probably the only person in the world to never have read any of the Harry Potter books, I didn't enjoy this movie as much as the others. When I heard from my sister how much details had been removed/changed from the book, I was discouraged

Yeah I just re-watched part 6 and was really reminded of just how much was either edited or changed. I haven't read the book in a while, but i remember it being way more exciting.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was a let down, the book was much better! So far, my favourite Harry Potter movie is most definitely Goblet of Fire

Jeez the years go so fast ....lol I loved the L.O.T.R trilogy!!!

Me neither. Since I can't go cinema on my own, I tried to get a girl to come with me to watch it, but she wants to go clubbing instead so I folded . Don't worry, I'll find someone else to go with me.

Yes, LOTR trilogy is a perfect book to movie adaption imo...Peter Jackson did it brilliantly

I didn't like Peter Jackson's work on King Kong in all honesty but then again I didn't really have an interest in that film compared to LOTR

just finished watching Ip Man. Classic Kung-Fu movie with great fighting scenes. a must watch for martial arts fans

IP man was great, but it felt a bit lacking as a whole... I can't quite put my finger on it, but it was lacking something.

I saw 500 days of Summer; firstly it reminded of how gorgeous Zooey Deschanel is and it was a really good film. Not having read any summaries, I was expecting the usual rom-com; boys meets girl, falls in love, boys does something stupid, girl leaves and boy finds something about girl and end up together.

I was quite dissapointed with Avatar.
It did not live up to it's hype and the story was plain,but oh well,it looked quite nice,so yeah....might watch it again for the sake of the animations,which were quite amazing,eventhough it sucked in 3D(maybe because of my seat)

just saw Inglorious Basterds. One of Tarintino's finer films, way better than Death Proof. My favorite scene was the bar one, probably one of the most intense shootouts in any movie I've seen

@crimson: I agree with you, that scene was just a disaster waiting to happen from the moment that german official sat down.
I really liked the movie in all, not the greatest but very good indeed.

I would agree with you, because I thought the movies were excellent, but not perfect at all. I hated that they essentially added a whole crap load of scenes just so Liv Tyler could be in the movie more, and I was let down that they changed the ending from how it was in the book. But, as I said, aside from a few things I thought shouldn't have been altered, they did turn out awesome, and I assume people who never read the books wouldn't ever know the difference. So yeah it's great, but not entirely perfect for me.

Except for what you mentioned with stalling a bit for Liv Tyler to get more screen time, my main problem with the Jackson movies is that Frodo is such a damn wuss. In the books he wasn't that much of a helpless little weakling. I mean, sure, he was a weakling, but not like in the Peter Jackson movies where he practically can't do anything on his own. It does make Sam look more brave and heroic, and I like Sam more than Frodo even in the books, but even though I know you're supposed to sympathize with the protagonist, it's way off. I didn't sympathize with him and I didn't root for him, I sympathized with Sam for having to put up with the little whiney cry-baby.

I still like the movies, don't get me wrong, but not Frodo.

Ah, I still thought Frodo was a bit of a whiner in the books too though, so I thought the representation wasn't bad. I haven't read the books since way before I saw the movies though, maybe if I read them again I might feel differently. What I hated was that they didn't show them coming back to a ruined Shire and therefore taking all that they had learned on their travels and using that to conquer the last vestiges of evil and therefore become true heroes in their own right.

To me it was a huge facepalm inducing biff. Although, I can understand why it was done. It would have required a lot more movie in a movie that was already super long.

Just saw Spy Next Door earlier and it was boring. Being a big Jackie Chan fan, I was quite disappointed by the mediocrity of the film and it left me both annoyed and dismayed.
