Re: Spider man 3 Trailer
The first Secret Wars was a "battle" that a cosmic entity known as the Beyonder had arranged that involved ALL the superheroes and ALL the super villains from Earth in the Marvel Universe. They had to survive against each other on an alien world. Spider-Man found his new costume on that world, and when the war was over, and they were all sent home, Spidey kept it thinking it was pretty handy since his webbing never ran out, it could transform to ordinary clothes, and things like that. ( Interesting sidenote: During the Secret Wars, Spider-Man single-handedly beat the whole X-Men on his own, even before he got the costume. Still one of the X-Men's most humilitating moments, EVER. )
Unfortunately, back on Earth, the costume got WAY too attached to him and he decided he had to get rid of it, he went to Mr. Fantastic, who used a sonic weapon to trap it into a container. It escaped this container, and feeling betrayed, it found Eddie Brock in a church, another guy who had a vendetta against Spidey because he lost his job at the Daily Bugle because of him. The two became the villain we all know as Venom.
That's in the comics anyway. Obviously such an involved history would be asking a little too much for a film, and also would sound completely far-fetched, so they had to keep it more simple than that.
