... H.I.M., .. A band I just got into called Nightwish is really piquing my interest as well, so that might be another to add to the list, we'll see. I love the vocals! ...

Wohoo! Go, go finnish metal music ^^ I like H.I.M too a lot, and espescially Nightwish. What comes to the vocals, I bet you are talking about Tarja Turunen right? You know, they fired her about year ago and band has now a new vocalist singing in their latest album Dark passion play. Reminds a bit more Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation now, though still in a way very different from them. And still good stuff.

I Listen mainly different kinds of metal and rock, mainly finnish. To name some favorites there are Nightwish, H.I.M, Apocalyptica (Big hurray for cello metal!), Kotiteollisuus, Iron Maiden, Rammstein, System of Down, Guns n' Roses, Sonata Arctica and many more ^^ The best band is impossible to determine.

How did I miss this? Hm.. I listen mainly to progressive rock, metal, classic rock, classic metal, smooth jazz (instrumental), instrumental acoustic, and most recently "symphonic". I'm far too lazy right now to read through the ten pages, but my favorite bands include Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, The Killers, H.I.M., Gazette, Guns 'N Roses, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Shoji Meguro (composer), Nobuo Uematsu (composer), and so on and so forth. I'm sure there are others I'm missing, but those are the main ones.

My favorite out of those is definitely Dream Theater. In fact, I'm going to New York in May to see them and going solely for that reason. I'm uber, uber, uber excited! Oh yes, and while I'm pretty open minded, most rap I can't stand, though I'm beginning to open up to it more and more (just began listening to Public Enemy), and country. Sadly, I haven't found a single country song I can listen to for more than 5 seconds without switching it off and turning on some death metal. Hehe.

To be honest, I really like everything. You name it I'll like it. If I haven't heard it all ready I'll be quite eager to hear it.

Wheeeeee! More metal lovers, I thought I was alone here! I´m more into Death metal and Prog Metal....I like all kinds of metal, though. #D

My favourite band from all times is Opeth, from Sweden. I totally worship them. Best mix of prog rock and death metal ever made, and every new cd is even better than the last one, it´s incredible.

Asides from metal, i like MPB (brazillian popular music, and it has nothing to do with samba =p), and rock in general, from almost all genres. I love Pearl Jam, The Strokes, Belle and Sebastian, The Beatles, Deep Purple, ACDC, The Darkness (#D), Audioslave, Hellacopters, Silverchair, Queens of the stone age...ah, many bands ^_^

I've got a music related question that's been gnawing at me for weeks. In films/games dealing with hell there's this choir piece that plays. I can't recall the tune right now, I've got tracks from Ennio Morricone in my head. If it helps, the piece sounds a lot like his western stuff except the voices are deeper.

i really dig biffy clyro at the moment... when "puzzle" came out, it didn't catch me at first, but when i got the album back into my playlist a week ago, it began to grow.
i also hear a lot of steven wilsons(porcupine tree) solo-stuff lately.

How do you like Wilson's solo music? I personally love it, though every single piece of music he writes tends to be so, so depressing. It's still beautiful music. No-Man and Blackfield have become some of my favorite groups.

blackfield sure has neat songwriting of wilson and geffen, but the songs don't take me on a whole journey like a good PT-longtrack does. of wilsons side-projects i prefer I.E.M.

what did you think of "fear of a blank planet"? I have to admit that I was a little disappointed at first and I still think that "deadwing" is more balanced in all.

my personal "album of the year 07" was "frames" by oceansize!

I have to say the line up is pretty darn good. Metallica, Rage Against The Machine and The Killers headlining. But im more bothered about Foals, Justice, Pendulum and Bloc Party.

haha yeah i still listen to joy division. Yet to see the film though.
They released a 'best of' a few weeks ago, I've been thinking of purchasing it.
Now they can't help reminding me of Editors and Interpol.

Glassjaw? GODLY! i first listened to glassjaw from a friend, and i thought, this is unlike anything i've heard before. got instantly hooked to the band. i think they're around the experimental genre more than post-hardcore. glassjaw and thrice have the same feel, awesome bands

i prefer glassjaw to thrice, but i like them both. i also prefer them to head automatica, which has the same lead singer. i don't dislike them, but it just doesn't feel quite right to hear daryl singing pop. the first time i heard head automatica, i was like, "wtf? this is so weird!" it's not surprising to me, but it seems that most people like one band or the other, but not both.

damn i know how you felt, at that time i saw on an article daryl palumbo has a new band, i checked it out, and when i listened, i thought this was meant for dancefloors not moshpits. of course i was freaked out, "what is he thinking??" but then i kept listening to the decadence album, and by the end of the day it's stuck to my mind, i mean you gotta admit it was too funky to let go so i also got the 2nd album which was much better
