A game from "FTB"

The game name is Sheep

How to play

1- Each participant will pm the host with their answers for the questions. You are not allowed to share your answers with anyone else.
2- Your objectives is parallel your answers with as many other players as possible, and get the highest score.
3- Try guessing the most popular answer.
4- There is no wrong answer.

Rules

1- The number of questions shouldn't exceed 12 questions and not less 8 questions.
2- "I don't know" will get 0 points. If you can't answer just use google or any search engine or simply put any answer.
3- The winner will host the next sheep.
4- In case we have 2 winners or more having the same points, The host will pick someone randomly as the winner or one of the winners would let the other do it.
5- If the winner didn't make the next sheep within 3 days the previous winner shall do it and if he didn't. Anyone can do it just to keep this game running.
6- Calculations and gathering answers is time consuming so the host has a whole week to do it. If he/she didn't post the answers and announce the winner after 7 days. The next sheep would be free to anyone to do it.

(7) -Do you care about lyrics in a song?

(8) -Pick a random number from (1~25)

(9) -What season suits you best?

Sheep king/Queen coronation happen every #100 sheep game.. So whoever wins the sheep #100 will be the king or queen of the game until the next sheep coronation and will be added to the Hall of Fame.

For anyone who plays this game: please follow this thread to receive warnings when new rounds are starting

Anyone making a round, please post a message to this thread when you do, so all prospective players will know to send a list (if you forget to do so, I will try to remember to do so for you).

This thread is currently just a test, to save on people having to go on mass tagging sprees - if the test is successful, we can keep on using it.
If the test fails (other than being extremely disappointed) then nothing will be lost and we can go back to ignoring it and tagging people like there's no tomorrow.

Pretty much, just more bothersome. So it’s either being against trading in general, ie. people split up and not cooperating in life, or against convenience of a generalized currency.

Idk, I don't think the concept of currency is sad per se. When it comes to survival and advantages, humans will always find their way to prejudice others and accumulate.

I agree noona, if nothing else, money is what makes it possible to close certain social gaps. Tbh it's mostly our relationship with time and objects that is seriously strained, currency in itself doesn't have much to do with that, other than being facilitating

I think you guys are slowly starting to misunderstand the original idea.

I never said that the existence of currency is sad ffs, life is way better with it in the world no one questions that.

What is sad is that we cannot imagine life without it, as if money is something humans can't live without which is essentially false. Money exists for humanity, not humanity for money.

Oh I can definitely imagine life without money. Just not the life I lead at the moment and have built for myself. And that's the mindset with which I answered that question.

I feel your point, @Lambu , but your thought experiment then effectively requests the subject to imagine a world without one our best inventions. We can survive without money, yes, but it's harder to thrive without. I imagine to someone who holds the opposite opinion of yours, it's similar to saying "it's sad we humans rely on medicine so much". Yes, nature didn't consider super advanced tools being employed to produce antidotes to its ailments, but to consider the existence of human constructs sad is imo like indirectly condemning humans for advancing or want to advance

And also I disagree with the bottom premise; humans, all humans, to an extent, are sheep. Biologically we're inclined to seek survival and security, and one the oldest human traditions is creating entities outside of ourselves we can dedicate ourselves too, be it God, money or human offspring.

Panda... relying on something is not the same as "not being able to live without". Is life infinitely better with money in it? Of course, same with the medicine example, but they aren't primal things for the act of living, we decide it that way in order to seek comfort.

If money disappeared the world that we live in wouldn't sustain itself, because its built around its existence, but life would still be life and people would still keep on living. We give money its value, we actually invented it to represent value; without currency value would still exist in a less practical way and life would continue.

TLDR. What I find sad is that if money ceased to exist millions of people (all of them from the 1st world of course) would commit suicide because their lives would not have meaning without it, they cannot imagine living on without cash, which means they give the reason of their existence to a resource that they appreciate more than anything else that really defines humans. Pitiful.

Hmmm dunno if many would suicide, I even think that power is a bigger drive than money, but maybe that's from my biased view based on what we see in politics here. Just don't know, can't think of many cases where people lost all possessions and and killed themselves, the ones I heard of are still around. Actually, aren't countries where comfortable lives come more easily ones that have high suicide rates, like Norway?

On another note, religion is a matter of faith, morals and education, while the dedication to offspring is born from a powerful feeling that is love. In my opinion they cannot be compared to money, an object created by humans to make their lives better

Just a final example to close the reflection: You are hanging from a cliff and in one hand you are holding your best friend/child/familiar, a person you love deeply, then your other hand is holding a box that represents 10 billion dollars and all your belongings. You have to let go of one or you will die. What do you save?

It is sad that many people would doubt in that situation, very fucked up if you think about it.

Its not about losing all your money but money ceasing to exist and all its benefits going away with it. Im completely sure that a lot of people (specially the young) would not be able to handle it and collapse, thats how ingrained money is into our lives.
