Sheep king/Queen coronation happen every #100 sheep game.. So whoever wins the sheep #100 will be the king or queen of the game until the next sheep coronation and will be added to the Hall of Fame.

Here is a thread to alert you to the start of new Sheep rounds
For anyone who plays this game: please follow this thread to receive warnings when new rounds are starting

Anyone making a round, please post a message to this thread when you do, so all prospective players will know to send a list (if you forget to do so, I will try to remember to do so for you).

This thread is currently just a test, to save on people having to go on mass tagging sprees - if the test is successful, we can keep on using it.
If the test fails (other than being extremely disappointed) then nothing will be lost and we can go back to ignoring it and tagging people like there's no tomorrow.

Sheep Game and I am the only one who picked shepherd. Didn't expect the sword and shield option to be the least popular.

Sheep #136 - The Contest (pls play)

You were promised a luxury cruise to a new world. Sights so new they had never been beheld before, until your royal eyes came to rest upon them. Unfortunately, you were born a prince of the Pandanese Empire. Perhaps only one set of eyes will be allowed to take it all in. You are forced to participate in a life-or-death succession contest against your many, many siblings. Seriously, your ancestors are putting a farming family in the countryside to shame. There are, like, thirteen siblings to deal with. For survival’s sake, you must now immerse yourself in the intricacies of state and family politics.

1. Only one can survive. You must be the “last one standing,” whatever that means. Only the sole survivor may inherit the throne. Some may consider it an unkindness, but really, it is the price of royal privilege. What right do you have to be born better? You must rise to the challenge. Easier said than done. You board the cruiser and make your way to your quarters. You have to rest a bit before the departure ceremony. As you drift off, you consider what kind of king you would be, should you make it to the end…

  1. Despotism. Absolute power. Military might. Force. Power is whatever comes out the other end of a gun. The full strength of the state and nation in your hands would surely pave the way to a better tomorrow. For you. For the state. Maybe for the people. Eventually.
  2. Democracy for the people, backed by the indomitable idol that is the King. The people will strive for better, and you will be all the better for it, even if you become an impotent figurehead.
  3. Propaganda. Love. Bribes. Lies. Happy people mean content people, and content people will never rebel. Quiet and happy while you live your life and delegate the difficult problems to your descendants.
  4. Abdication. You do not care to be king. You care even less about your siblings becoming king, however. You will take them out, and then live the rest of your life once all of this is over. Perhaps you will explore the new continent side by side with the other explorers.

2. Dreams are sweet, but they are merely a mockery of yourself if not backed by effort. This will require effort indeed. Only the sole survivor may inherit the throne. I suppose this means you must eliminate your competition, right? You are a prince, but powerless. Your wings are clipped by the many onlookers. Simply commanding your soldiers to start praying and shooting will not do. So what will you do?
  1. Ally with a few, then sow dissent among the others. Thin out the herd while remaining part of a group. Then, once your enemies have dwindled in number… you will turn to treachery.
  2. Assassinate your peers silently. No need to play politics, read the room, and all that. Thirteen beating hearts are all that stand between you and survival. Let us be practical about it.
  3. Hide. If they cannot find you, they cannot kill you. Simply wait it out. Perhaps lay a trap or two. There is no need to make brilliant moves; wait for your competition to make a bad one. Sun Tzu, The Art of War. You have time.
  4. Rally the people. Sure, you cannot act in direct defiance of the law prohibiting immediate force. But what of an unruly populace? What of an angry mob? Who is to say they will not invade the princely quarters and take care of your problems for you?

3. No king rules alone. You do not stand alone. You have allies. In fact, the opening ceremony is about to begin. You are contacted by your foremost ally. Who are they? Who in your corner do you trust most?
  1. The first of your guard, a sturdy soldier. She is completely loyal to you. More knight than soldier, she is strong and formidable, and possesses some kind of paranormal ability suited for combat. She will not lose easily, even against multiple enemies. Though no strategist, she will follow any order she does not consider dishonourable to the letter. She is somewhat gullible, however, and if push came to shove, you could convince her to do something that goes against her principles… although this might somehow reduce her overall combat effectiveness.
  2. He is a diplomat now. He used to be a spy. In terms of combat, he is no stronger than a fit adult human. However, he has grown into a master strategist at the tender age of [insert Sheep player age]. If not a diplomat, he might have become a bard or an award-winning author. His sweet words will reach even the most guarded ears. His tactics will allow your team to manoeuvre through even the direst circumstances. However, he loses hope easily, and as a result, may unconsciously prefer losing slowly and painlessly to pursuing a daring, high-risk strategy to win.
  3. They are an assassin sworn to your service. They cannot, or will not, speak. They cannot, or will not, offer opinions. They are merely your shadow, following you wherever you go. Although their close-quarters combat ability is not exceptional, they are skilled in gathering intelligence and trained to drive knives into the necks of sleeping enemies. Their effectiveness depends entirely on your decision-making. With so much security around, you estimate they could eliminate at least or perhaps at most/ three to four princes.
  4. Your mother. Unironically, a queen in the court of your evil father, she has considerable influence over the processes and protocols that govern the Pandanese royal family. She will strategise on your behalf and provide boon after boon to aid you in your ascent to the top. She even sends you motivational snacks from time to time. The problem is that she is in a separate area. Communication with her is always indirect - phone, intermediary, smoke signal, messenger pigeon. You get the idea. You understand the risk.

4. You arrive at the opening ceremony. You are serenaded upon arrival. You wear your finest clothes and shiniest gems for all of the court to see - parents and siblings included. Speaking of which, your siblings, terrible as they are, have put the screws to you. They have committed the ultimate offence: withholding your favourite snacks from you. The very nourishment required to turn a princeling into a strong king. What is it they have taken from you?
  1. A large McChicken meal with large fries, a Fanta, and that special Dutch fries sauce. The crunchy McChicky would have filled your cautious heart with the hope it needs to steel itself.
  2. Crunchy Peking duck, cooked immaculately, sliced into fine ribbons, and wrapped in mini pancakes with vegetables, duck, and sauce. First, it fills your cheeks with juice; then it inspires you to train it all off again.
  3. The richest, fattiest tuna, chopped and seasoned perfectly for the ultimate sashimi experience. Paired with smoked salmon, the soft, buttery flesh melts in your mouth. The savoury umami flavours awaken within you the ego and libido required to dominate the rest of the contest.
  4. Kapsalon, the way God intended it: crunchy fries from the freshest oil, blessed chicken döner meat shaved from the freest-range chickens in the kingdom, topped with gooey cheese, shredded romaine, and bountiful cucumber and tomato. A mouth-watering delicacy that comes in layers, much like your schemes.

5. You wave, smile, and seethe. You will maintain appearances, but you will not easily forget this first slight committed by your nefarious enemies. You will win back the snacks. The opening ceremony ends. Night falls. You pace worriedly around every corner of your spacious quarters, your prison for the voyage. What will you do? What can you do? If only you had a weapon to wield. Then, your ally appears in your darkest hour. “Paranormal abilities fueled by your life force, ‘aura’, are known as ‘nen.’ Highness, you too could acquire this power. You will have to choose how to develop it, however…”
  1. Perhaps you could manipulate your environment, people or objects, if only you could bend them to your control.
  2. You may attempt to conjure something: a weapon, a trap, a circumstance built solely for you.
  3. Your aura itself may be shaped into a substance or form that suits your desires. The ultimate weapon is yourself.
  4. If aura is your life force, what then if you channel it? You could use it to teleport. Perhaps even to curse.

6. You have just learned of the existence of paranormal abilities known as nen. You have not mastered the art, but you are familiar with Guardian Spirit Beasts, entities manifested through nen that obey a specific set of rules. Don't attack each other. Don't attack other princes. Everything else is far game.
  1. A small pair of sacred twin fish perpetually float above your head in a circular motion. Their direct combat ability is non-existent, but their synchronous swimming imparts a sense of prosperity to any beholder. Approximately once a day, during your sleep, you will receive a prophetic dream that vaguely yet accurately gestures toward the fortunes and dangers of the following day. Through this information, you may take steps to obtain or avoid that specific future. You barely feel the burden of this nen beast, aside from the poor sleep it causes. Visions concerning people you love, even unilaterally, will never appear in your dreams.
  2. A many-headed, car-sized dire wolf, cautious and suspicious of new people around you. It can split off a single dog head and attach it to someone (such as a guard) whose loyalty to you has been proven. The smaller dog then aids that person in carrying out their duties toward you. The greater the guard’s loyalty, the greater the dog’s tenacity. It possesses enhanced senses and will protect its assigned guard to the best of its ability. The dog will not die until either the guard dies or their loyalty does. However, the beast becomes increasingly costly to maintain the more dogs it spawns. It also appears somewhat vulnerable to slashing attacks.
  3. An adult-sized brown bear chef wielding an enormous ladle, seemingly uninterested in you because it is occupied with cooking something delicious-smelling in a massive pot. It only acknowledges you when your dislike of a specific person reaches a certain threshold. It then leaves your side to locate the target. Once it has laid eyes upon them, it returns and begins aggressively stirring its pot, creating a curse that will haunt the target. The curse acts slowly: first depriving them of sleep, then forcing them into an extended slumber. The duration of their sleep corresponds to the intensity of your hatred. You feel exhausted during the stirring phase, but once the bear finishes, you feel significantly better. Provided you can endure the stirring phases, it can create many curses. It will seize any opportunity to stir.
  4. Not a singular entity, but rather a flock of ravens: one gold-feathered and red-eyed, accompanied by what seems to be a thousand darker black ravens. The black flock spreads out to seek those with small reserves of aura. They sing in hoarse, barked shrieks, yet the hum somehow possesses a tune - a beat, dare I say. It is catchy. It spreads. Once you begin humming along, more birds gather. You feel wonderful. Then, you see the rare golden bird. A single moment of eye contact binds you to the cruelty of the golden beak, so long as you continue to hear the hums chanted by the birds or their fellow victims.

7. Your enemies are manifold, not merely siblings, but their beneficiaries and subjects as well. Third parties lurk in the shadows. Who do you fear the most?
  1. The Pandanese mafia, led by the mysterious Copan Clan, whose undercover members have ears and eyes everywhere. They control the entire economy aboard the cruise and seem willing to ally with anyone who furthers their interests. Unfortunately, those interests appear to align with some of your non-art-degree-holding siblings. It is terrifying when your opponents can buy anything that shines and bribe anything with a pulse. Their industry grants them access to an arsenal of weapons, supplies, nen, and guns. No military resource is more frightening than logistics.
  2. Anti-monarchists. They despise all royals, full stop. A band of fanatics who view the succession contest as nothing more than a spectacle staged by elites at the people’s expense. They are willing to lay down their lives to take yours. Apparently, some of them possess powers that activate when confronting a royal. If you encounter them, your only option may be to flee.
  3. Your family. Of course, your siblings stand in your way. But what of their mothers? Their extended families? What of your father, whose nebulous motivations still elude you? How can you possibly proceed without understanding this much?
  4. The government. The state may one day be yours to command, but will its apparatus truly accept a mere [insert Sheep player age]-year-old prince inheriting the throne? Are they truly neutral? The judiciary, the royal army, the entire bureaucracy… If you cannot count on them now…

8. Oh? One of your younger siblings secretly approaches you and begs for protection. They claim to have no desire for the throne and offer valuable information about a conspiracy against you. They cannot stand the scheming. The fratricide. The hatred in the air. They'd rather be rid of it. Alliances are to be expected; however, sheltering another participant is something else altogether. Their enemies become your enemies. Their safety becomes your liability. Consider your own chances of survival. What do you do?
  1. Protect them and gain a loyal ally, risking your own safety. In this death game, is newfound humanity not a beautiful thing? We must rise above our circumstances. Like a king would.
  2. Use their information, then abandon them to their fate. On this chessboard, they are merely a pawn, and you will sacrifice them for your safety. Your prosperity. Like a king would.
  3. Turn them over to another sibling in exchange for political favour. Extract what you can, then get more. Take the long view. Like a king would.
  4. Eliminate them immediately, ensuring one less competitor. Only one will survive. You will make sure of that. Like a king would.

9. Midway through the voyage, the cruiser suffers a catastrophic malfunction. Resources become scarce, and panic spreads among the passengers. The royal contest is temporarily suspended while everyone fights to survive. Panic is a rope, or whatever the saying is. Your training, your allies, your nen beast. Your clout, efforts and resources. Now you have to decide how to act in favour of the greater good. Or maybe not. Maybe just the lesser good. Your own. How do you respond?
  1. Take command of the rescue effort and earn the people’s trust. Be visible, be virtuous. You will win back the hearts of the people.
  2. Hoard supplies for yourself and your closest allies. Someone must survive, so why can't that be you? Is survival really such a bad thing? Is this not a crisis for everybody? You will win back time.
  3. Sabotage rival rescue attempts to weaken your siblings. Only a vile, vile participant would even think of doing this. But this contest has changed you. You will win the momentum back in this ignoble battle.
  4. Escape the chaos and focus solely on surviving until the contest resumes. Assume what the ancients call neutral jing. Wait and see. Be patient. You will win another opportunity.

10. The end of the contest is in sight. You have come a very long way from where you began. Upon treading deep into the interior of the ship, you learn of the true meaning of the contest. The truth will shock you. You discover a hidden document revealing that the succession contest is not what it seems: the winner will not inherit the throne, but instead become the final sacrifice required to secure the empire’s future. Your father, if he is alive, will instead truly win this godless battle. If you reveal the truth, the contest may collapse into chaos. If you conceal it, you may be condemning yourself or another sibling to death. What do you do?

  1. Reveal the truth publicly and unite the remaining siblings against the system. You have defeated many of them; you have their blood on your hands. But you will rely on them once more if this system is never going to produce a legitimate king. What's the point? You will live to scheme another day. Good survival rate, but middling win rate.
  2. Keep the secret and manipulate the contest to ensure someone else wins. Then that guy becomes the sacrifice. Pretend to drop out or be dead. Then, when everyone expects it the least, take your opportunity to strike from the shadows. Low survival rate but good win rate if you manage to get this far.
  3. Use the knowledge to bargain with your father or the government. Maybe he will let you out. Maybe so much aura has been generated that you're not necessary anymore. You might have to give up your royal titles. Excellent survival chances but negligible win chances.
  4. Destroy the evidence and continue playing the game as if nothing happened. No changes to your plans, except for a few details that work out for you during this new reality. Just keep the facade a bit longer. Unknown survival and win rates

only real contenders there are 2 and 3
Yeah fr, you've gotta have zero respect for yourself to be going for 1. 4 is also a bad choice because the fresh veg just gets in the way of the holy grail of döner meat, chips, and then what should be your holy trinity of sauces
