I really like the non-linear mystery that they did in Season 2. It's perfect.

And I hope Aimee (Emily Meade) will be in Season 3.

Why do you want her back?

Yeah, seems like it might have been Lindelof's wish instead of it always being in limbo I guess. Maybe it'll change if it starts getting huge buzz, but I doubt it.

We didn't really get to know her character well (maybe we didn't need to?). And because she's hot.

Carrie Coon's still the hottest among The Leftovers girls though. I liked her in Gone Girl too. I looked at her Wikipedia page and she seems to be more of a theater actress than tv/movie. Hope she gets more tv/movie roles/works.

The twins that hangs out with Aimee and Jill in Season 1 is a bit interesting as well.

I think it's good, as long as it ends in a satisfying way. So many dramas end up going on way too long with no real resolution to anything.

Well, it's universally praised by critics, so hopefully it gets some award attention.

I think it's good, as long as it ends in a satisfying way. So many dramas end up going on way too long with no real resolution to anything.

Lost didn't really end in a satisfying way right? (Mainly for the fans who got more interested in the mystery than the characters' journeys)

Hope The Leftovers ends well for both the characters and story.

It's not just Kevin Sr. being there, a lot of things point to Australia. The jesus-like figure on the news report from early in the second season (who may or may not be the noose--tying karaoke guy in "purgatory"), and the guy in the tower who Michael helps send letters to this person.

Could be, it's only 8 episodes. Australia is an axis mundi for some reason, like Jarden.

Yeah they'll be eligible next year. They missed out on the Gold Globes because the deadline for submissions was like two weeks into the season or something. Not that it'd be the type to win Golden Globes, as they're mostly a joke.

Her episode in the first season might have been my favorite as well.

Depends on who you talk to, it was a lot like the ending of this season of The Leftovers though. More of an emotional thing, rather than a logical one. I loved Lost's ending though.

Some comments on True Detective´s second season by the HBO president of programming, which i find quite amicable:

Our biggest failures—and I don’t know if I would consider “True Detective 2”—but when we tell somebody to hit an air date as opposed to allowing the writing to find its own natural resting place, when it’s ready, when it’s baked—we’ve failed. And I think in this particular case, the first season of “True Detective” was something that Nic Pizzolatto had been thinking about, gestating, for a long period of time. He’s a soulful writer. I think what we did was go, “Great.” And I take the blame. I became too much of a network executive at that point. We had huge success. “Gee, I’d love to repeat that next year.”

Well, you know what? I set him up. To deliver, in a very short time frame, something that became very challenging to deliver. That’s not what that show is. He had to reinvent the wheel, so to speak. Find his muse. And so I think that’s what I learned from it. Don’t do that anymore.

I don't think it was simply a matter of allowing "gestation". It might have been part of it. But I think the show missed Fukunaga as the only director.

But then again, I still liked the second season a lot and found most of the complainers to be people who didn't bother paying attention to the finer details...and/or compared to too much to the first season.

Watched the entire season of Ash vs The Evil Dead this weekend.

It was pretty great. Well... great in the sense the movies were great anyway. Very satisfyingly show to marathon. The only bit I wasn't as much of a fan of was the ending. What they had Ash do to leave things open for season 2 felt forced to me.

For those who are into space opera / mystery science / thriller fiction drama: definitely watch the expanse.

It's renewed for a sescond season. Season one is only ten episodes far but Syfy did a really nice job. Best Sci Fi I have seen in these last years.

Better than Battlestar Galactica

That seems awesome. Missed Galactica like crazy lately. While there are a ton of good shows around, nothing seriously noteworthy on the scifi/space department since it ended. Defitnely need to check that one out.

3 episodes into Daredevil second season. Pretty cool this far, writing isn't exactly stellar, but some of the action sequences have been pretty damn cool and The Punisher is pretty damn badass.

It's somewhat noir-ish. A blade runner vibe.

Well it's based on books, so more will follow. If they continue as they have done with season 1 then this has potential of becoming one of the best science-fiction ever.

Its strongest elements:

One main story happens on different places, different characters. It's all about one girl:
- detective doing an investigation
- space miners getting involved a space ship attack
- earth investigating that truth behind the attack

It all results in an intersting story. The Rocinante crew is at first a crew of individuals and slightly grows in a true team.

Its an awesome show
