Yea, the focus on music and stuff was completely unnecessary. They could have used that time to show us more of Cornell and Mariah.

Finally finished watching Luke Cage. It definitely got better as it progressed, but still not as good as Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

still a lot of unnecessary things and some scenes that Claire would describe best.. "You're so corny."

Shades losing to Claire and Misty was just.. He was portrayed like a really bad ass character but he seemed like some extra in that scene.

I give it a 5.5/10.

^ It should get better with S2. Oh, and speaking of Marvel...anyone else hear about how they are rebooting the cartoon series again? I thought Ultimate Spider-man was doing well, so why cancel it to do a reboot? Seems really unnecessary.

Finally got done with Luke Cage season 1. My thoughts are pretty much in line with everybody else's. 5 out of 10.

I liked Luke Cage as a character but the way the show was done just didn't work very well for me. There was a lot of promise in the supporting cast at first but toward the latter half even they started to suffer due to the dumb plotting. Misty in particular has it pretty rough in that regard. She comes out looking like a straight up idiot.

The villains were also really weak. Even for Marvel. Shades was probably the best this show had to offer and as Kira said, he had some pretty lousy moments in last quarter of the season.

Overall I'd say Daredevil Season 1 > Daredevil Season 2 > Jessica Jones > Luke Cage

Looking forward to Iron Fist though. Hopefully it will be more superhero-y than Luke Cage was. And less alcohol soaked depression themed than Jessica Jones.

Is anyone watching Westworld? Kind of bizarre to compare this to the Yul Brynner movie, but it's pretty enjoyable so far. HBO looks like they have another hit on their hands.

Yup, watched it when they put the first episode out. I like it a lot. The last episode really pushed the show forward. I can't wait to see where we're taken. It will be exciting.

Yeah I think it'll be interesting to see what they do when they run out of book material. If it's like The Leftovers, it should be interesting, specially since they have a lot of good people working behind the scenes and on camera. I always liked my speculative fiction to be a bit heady. Anything that ponders the concept of consciousness piques my interest. Especially if you wonder where the hell the story even takes place....is it even Earth?

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!

I've been rewatching on Netflix for so long hoping it would convince them, discussing it wherever I could, ordering DVDs...! I'm so happy I can't describe it! Canceling Young Justice was one of the biggest mistakes in tv history (for me at least lol).

It's amazing, one of the best drawn tv shows out there (especially for comics). The visuals are incredible and the story is very rich and mature (but without getting too mature so kids can't watch). If you liked Justice League or Teen Titans, it is definitely worth seeing. Netflix has both seasons, too.

I liked Teen Titans back in the day. I guess I never checked out Young Justice because I'm generally more of a Marvel than a DC guy. Still I'm kind of in the mood for something like this and the anime season has been a little... barren.

So it might be just the perfect thing.

Some of both. I read a lot of the comics when I was younger and there was a pretty good Spiderman and X-Men series in the 90's.

Dr. Ford though is one of those bigger than life characters.

Definitely a lot of great performances but Anthony Hopkins took it to another level.

He just dominated the screen everytime he was on it. To the same degree he did in Silence of the Lambs even but with a character that was more nuanced. I honestly had no idea if he was a good or bad guy until pretty close to the end but he was riveting the whole time.

I love Dolores though most girls seems to be a fan of Maeve.

and yeah, Anthony Hopkins was amazing in all his scenes.
