I think I've seen 3 episodes? I can't remember....which is always a bad indication; I couldn't even tell you what the last episode was about without looking it up.

I've seen an episode or two before. I don't watch a ton of series to be honest.

Sure, neither do I. I think barring an addition or 2, I've pretty much been watching the same shows for the last few years. So those episodes you watched didn't convince you to watch more?

It didn't turn me off, I just never decided to do it.

I don't, I think my current watch list is The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, Happy Endings, Community, Breaking Bad, New Girl, Game of Thrones and Parks and Recreation. That's not a lot..even if I've forgotten a show or 2. .

With Girls and The Walking Dead just having their season finales, the only think I watch week to week will be Game of Thrones for now. I have to catch up on the comedies I watch.

My brother is trying to get me into Walking Dead, knowing me though, it's something I'll pick up many months later. Always behind. A lot of the shows I've got listed had been on a break for a while, no? as I couldn't find any releases lately.

BTW, have you seen or heard of a show called Treme? another one I've been told to check out.

WTF...the show is fantastic. Make it priority NUMBER ONE.

Happy endings is a great show, that said the whole thing with the 2 main characters getting back together indicates the authors are running out of ideas and so far this season has been lacking in interesting over-all plots tbh :/

I've watched Community and so far it got better after first 4 eps but definitely no where near season 1

The thing is, I feel like I've missed the "hype" period of the show, if you get what I mean.

Yep that's as far as I got to finding out about it too without watching anything lol. I will most likely finish Breaking Bad first then maybe Walking Dead.

Many fans didn't agree with the writing choices and direction that brought Alex and Dave back together and to be honest, I had hoped that the writers would instead bring Dave and Penny into the spotlight a bit and explore that this season; as there were a few hints of Penny having feelings for Dave in the previous season. That I believe would've been the most popular story amongst fans and maybe helped with ratings. I guess not even Brad alone can carry the show.

Okay so I've got some nice stuff to look forward to then...

2 things: I think Walking Dead has not the same quality it had in the first season, just my opinion and i was happy that Dave and Alex got together again.

List of what i am currently watching:

Castle, Justified (though the season ended already), Arrow, Person of Interest, Elementary, GoT, Mentalist, Revenge and Vikings.

To clarify first, i have only seen the first two season, so my post was actually only referring to those, namely the decrease from the first season to the two second which made me stop watching the series.

The first season was a good mix between impressive horror scenes that were a first for a TV series, especially one with such a low budget compared to big cable networks such as HBO and Showtime, and a fair amount of dramatic situations and constellation between the characters, especially Rick, Shane and Lori. It was neither heavy on the characters and their development nor on the special effects but it was, like i said before, a very satisfying mix of both. The second season had 2 major changes: First, there was a huge budget cut. The producers were supposed to another season with double the amount of episodes with half the budget of the first season, so in the end, each episode got only a quarter budget compared to the first season. This had 2 consequences: The zombie scenes were heavily reduced while the focus on the characters and their constellation was increased. Unfortunately, neither the characters nor the actors themselves are able to carry a show like this in my opinion, so this is the first decrease in quality. Second, the fact that Showrunner Darabont, who besides his other duties wrote four of the six episodes, and pretty much the main writer, Charles Eglee, left the show after the first season. While the first, i think 2 or 3 episodes were still from Darabont and Eglee, the rest was carried by the new writers and of course also by the new Showrunner, Mazzara, who has no experience at all in running a show like this.

The character just did not give me anything that would make this show special and while i am not saying that it is outright bad, it still does not hold the same ranking as the first season.

Wow, I completely disagree with that as well. I thought his performance was great, all the angst and the sign of him cracking mentally.

@goldb: you should watch Shameless the US version (unless you have seen the Uk version). N00b-Nuno recommended it to me but despite that it turned out to be quite the entertaining show about the lives of.. well, good old American white-trash and for some reason it's entertaining.

I'm aware of the US version of the show. I'd seen a few episodes of the British one too and it's simply brilliant; especially the first few seasons. Very white-trash and quite relatable in some instances. Dunno if I'd watch the american version. Same goes for their take on Sherlock Holmes; Elementary.

I watch both Sherlock Holmes and Elementary and while I do get entertained by Elementary it did take me quite a lot of episodes before liking this weird "Sherlock". That said I still prefer the British one 100x since it feels like an actual Sherlock.

I can only judge Shameless UK from the first ep since that's the only one I watched. Both versions had the same story but I vastly prefer the US one. Maybe it's the HD or maybe I'm used to the American version, but I just find the Americans more capable of being white-trash than any European country ever could

Elementary has not much to do with the original Sherlock. To me, it seems like they just used the name to promote a slightly unusual crime series with a popular name, especially post- BBC Sherlock.
