I agree with that.
I think Gon And Kil only got really considerable nenfighter when they fought against binolt and got biscuits training.
It was not the first life or death battle for killuah, but it kinda was the first time gon faced a superior foe who was absolutely intent on killing him and he grew a lot by it.
Then, further, the fight against genthru solidified him as an elite fighter.
Killuah's problems always were different and killuah's big moment was when he pulle dout ILlumi's needle.
However, ya, as i said, you can aswell be a great blacklist hunter without good fighting skills, for example as an attourney with a power that lets you read minds or something like that.
So i would really judge a fighter based on whether he actually trains fighting.
Morel for example does not have a fighting hatsu, BUT you don't get the muscles morel has without fighting or training.
Knov however is a different kind. He definitely can fight, but he does not seem to be someone who trains fighting.
Knov's mainobjective in any battle would probably be fleeing and returning for a surprise attack.
Knov could still be an insanely good blacklist hunter by using his power to gain evidence or build up surveillance stations and whatnot.
