I'm not sure what you're referring to here?
remember enid made a comment to carl about "how we were able to...."....referring to the wolves invading alexandria but not necessarily saying she was a wolf.
this is probably how the saviors that stopped carol knew about alexandria....thru enid

He is one of Kirkman´s best Money maker, he was the MC of a PS3 walking dead game and recently he used Daryll in a android app game, the guy is getting more spotlight than other characters when it comes to games of the walking dead (excluding Clem of course), the potential his character has as a icon for the Walking dead sales, is alone a proof that lots of viewers of the TV series, respect his character a lot, for a Tv series only he gained a lot of popularity til now
(Also in the last april fools giving, there even was somebody who put Daryll´s jacket on Dwight and put him in a Walking dead comics cover, the guy´s potential is insane and if this keeps out he could out live Rick, but it will all depend on how things with Dwight will go down, I´m expecting Daryll to die and then have Dwight suceed him with his crossbow afterwards, so the crossbow guy never dies, since Dwight is still a character in need of build-up before dying)
More like comics Michone, since the positions of andrea and Michone as rick´s love interests are divergent from the comics and TV series.
Sorry, I didn't mean that he took Andrea's place in the story really, I meant that he took her place to keep the number of Atlanta survivors somewhat the same. In the comics, there's only 3 left iirc compared to the 5 in the show.

And I agree with what you're saying about his popularity, but they could have taken a chance and go for the gut-punch because he's as popular as he is. But even so, they're still adapting the original story in the way they want to, so Daryl not being tied to an arc he's supposed to have isn't keeping the writers hands tied, so to speak. But I guess the caveat is that they haven't really tied their hands with comic characters either. The best example being someone like Carol, who's not really anything like how she is in the comics.

I don't remember the seen honestly. And even if she was a part of the Saviors, she isn't really anymore. The Saviors aren't the Wolves, they don't necessarily seem insane, they're just at odds with Alexandria and The Hilltop.

She could have been saying that that's how we were able to go outside the walls or something. I get that this may have been an intentional red herring as well as her being mysterious at first but after the midseason finale, I have no idea how you could still think she's a spy or something. Her being a spy for the Saviors doesn't even make sense either. Why send a kid? Why would she want to hurt Maggie? She helped Glenn save her life.

What's more likely, that they're guilty of bad writing on a semi-regular basis, or they did that scene earlier this season in order to troll the readers of the comics? They obviously don't have to follow the source material closely at all, there are show-exclusive characters, and characters that are killed off way earlier or later than the original story. But doing what they did with Glenn earlier this season, where you're basically made to see him being eaten alive, only for it to be a "trick" with extreme luck and impractical physics...they basically broke their own rules. They've never done that for anyone else in the show. It makes way more sense for them to go for the cheap cop out to create high drama in the first part of the season and then the punch in the gut later in the season than that happen and him be perfectly safe.

I think it's awkward either way due to the dumpster bullshit, but I find it more likely that they did it to twist the knife even more when he is killed off.
We definitely agree on that, I guess we'll have to wait and see what next week brings.

This episode left such a bitter taste in my mouth. When you see people continously make stupid decisions just so the writer gets them to a certain point/location they need them too.

I honestly hope Carol gets killed off (she saved the day once by "leaving" this time it should have consequences) and maybe Morgan too, just to show that war is coming and you can't mess around like they do.
Daryl has gotten captured so often by wandering alone or in small groups he should have learned his lesson by now, maybe a bullet will help.

I think Maggie's pains are there to force her on her way to the Hilltop (cause they killed their own doc with their stupidity and there's an obstetritian there) so she can be captured along the way to bear witness/there's even less people in Alexandria so they can be overtaken.

What "they" are you talking about? Denise tried her best to kill herself the entire time, Daryll and Rosita´s only fault was putting up with her BS and go with more weight to the pharmacy, instead of counterargumenting, Denise´s arguments to go there in the first place.
To be honest, if she had problems she should have tried to solve them with Tara and not try to play survivalist, she was a doctor and she should have remained sticking to her job, at least Eugene was smart enough to know that, Denise wasnt.
Also if they said no, to her she would have found another way to leave to the phamarcy, sooner or later and die.

That about sums it up about the writing this season. They were so invested in getting us to this point in the story to introduce Negan, that they didn't really think about remaining authentic to what they had written already. Carol had gone full circle really, but her reasoning for leaving makes no sense. The moment you leave the safety of walls, the chance that you'll have to kill only goes up. So what, she's okay killing to keep herself alive, but not her friends? I don't see the difference really. Then you have Daryl completely reverting 3 or so seasons of progress and going lone wolf emo. And don't even get me started on Morgan, that character has been nonsensical for most of the season to me, seemingly only existing as a foil to Rick's ruthlessness for a couple scenes this half of the season. His whole bullshit about Carl being alive because he left that one Wolf live is utter nonsense and the definition of confirmation bias. That wolf seemed to lead the attack on Alexandria and it's only after he kidnapped Denise that he "saved" her. How does it make any sense that without his involvement with her that she would have been in the same predicament that she was?

Not really sure why they went this route instead of having the Saviors attack Alexandria like in the comics. It doesn't even really make sense that they wouldn't retaliate after their attack on their compound. They were already aware that Alexandria existed. But instead we had a couple painful episodes with people acting completely idiotic in order to get to the conclusion.

He might say his decision saved Carl but we all know it was all plot convinience and nothing else, the past few seasons were full of plot convinience (Tyreese´s out of nowhere death scene to force Sasha development, Beth taking episodes of TWD TV series for herself, only to have her and Noah killed off, quickly after (Beth I understand but Noah was so cringe, his death was just there to try to affect Glenn (who had a trash container incident full of "plot convinience" afterwards))), too but never to a extent that would make a character look like a "Jedi", which is one of the reasons why I find the idea of Morgan/Carol dying, by Negan all the way better now.

Also not liking the idea of having particularly useful people in a specific área killed off, this early (Denise), case they actually bring about advantages in a safe environment, a thing we never got in TWD til we got more and more into Alexandria, we need more characters like that and have them get more spotlight in their main skills and not just "survivors" that we already watched for half a dozen seasons, or just plain shock factor, gory death scenes all the time, which is why I hope Eugene isnt killed off at least for the next 1,5 season along with the Hiltop Smith Earl.

It's sad, but I find him so disappointing. I was hyped for his return and how they handled him following the group around for a season. I even liked the Morgan-centric episode earlier in the season as a standalone hour of TV. But he even proved himself wrong when he locked the Wolf up in the cage at the end of the episode, when the entire episode was about how his captor was never truly holding him captive. Seems like he's this way just to pose some sort of moral dilemma to some of the main characters, but it just all feels inauthentic to the situation and awkward.

I think Morgan is going through a schizophrenia phase, Carol herself seems to affected too and yes, Morgan is only there to serve as a moral compass to Rick and some other character at this point, which is why it would be savage if Negan handed Lucille to Rick or Carol and forced him/her to kill Morgan with it or else all of his/her guys will die, preferably I would like Negan to pull this instead of the regular skull bashing he did in the comics.

Hmm, I know the episode is extended, but something tells me we might be done with Morgan and Carol for the season. I do see him in the preview riding a horse. It might be related to the guy at the barn since he was looking for his horse as well. Whether that guy was with the Saviors or maybe the even the Kingdom since he appears to be armored, I'm not sure.

I've been catching up with the comic, so far I just got finished with All Out War and just started the next arc. I'm imagining season 7 will take up the bulk of those 12 issues. But I sort of wonder whether there's enough there for 16 episodes or not.

the comic is monthly right.....plus they can always stretch out epis with what they've been doing lately.
relationships and such...plus the introduction to the kingdom and the jesus/maggie/gregory ordeal.
iirc.....baby herschel is already born by the time glenn gets killed....man they are really running thru stuff to get to negan.
guess we will be in for more focus on carol and morgan....probably like it was after the prison(daryl/beth/hunters,rick/car/michonne,glenn/tara,etc...)...kinda like their own story

I think it's every 4 weeks? Not sure. I'm not talking about them catching up to the comics, that probably won't even be a potential problem for like 3 or 4 more seasons, I'm talking about where the next season will end at and whether the All Out War arc is big enough to fit into 16 episodes. I guess it can be, I'm just wondering.

No, Glenn dies way before that ever happens. He's the first person Negan kills, and that's what sparks the entire arc. We don't see Hershel until after the timeskip.

Well, in the show there was a minor timeskip after the walkers breached the wall, but most say it was only like a month or two. I think the two year timeskip you're referring to happens after the war arc is over.

What a bullshit episode... If it wasn't for the potential with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I'd probably not bother watching next season.

No reason for this episode being extended, as everything was just so drawn out. What a horseshit cliffhanger too, so fucking cheap...not sure what I expected after that Glenn bullshit earlier in the season. Give me a break.
