That about sums it up about the writing this season. They were so invested in getting us to this point in the story to introduce Negan, that they didn't really think about remaining authentic to what they had written already. Carol had gone full circle really, but her reasoning for leaving makes no sense. The moment you leave the safety of walls, the chance that you'll have to kill only goes up. So what, she's okay killing to keep herself alive, but not her friends? I don't see the difference really. Then you have Daryl completely reverting 3 or so seasons of progress and going lone wolf emo. And don't even get me started on Morgan, that character has been nonsensical for most of the season to me, seemingly only existing as a foil to Rick's ruthlessness for a couple scenes this half of the season. His whole bullshit about Carl being alive because he left that one Wolf live is utter nonsense and the definition of confirmation bias. That wolf seemed to lead the attack on Alexandria and it's only after he kidnapped Denise that he "saved" her. How does it make any sense that without his involvement with her that she would have been in the same predicament that she was?

Not really sure why they went this route instead of having the Saviors attack Alexandria like in the comics. It doesn't even really make sense that they wouldn't retaliate after their attack on their compound. They were already aware that Alexandria existed. But instead we had a couple painful episodes with people acting completely idiotic in order to get to the conclusion.

The idiotic acting unfortunately continues.
What a timewaster this episode was. Negan was great though, I had the 17 issue in my hands when I watched the episode and most of his dialog was straight from there with about a dozen missed F-bombs. That was good, just as Jeffrey Dean Morgan is doing a good job.
Is it bad I loved Rick's cocky ass being pretty much handed to him?

The main problem is that the whole second half of the season built up to the introduction of Negan. All comic readers were crossing dates on the calendar to see when someone finally gets lucille'd. All this builup is for naught since we got no payoff. It would have been best to show anyones bashed-in skull and have the episode end with everyone just breaking down while Negan continues bashing with a big grin.
Now we gotta wait who died/if the person died, I honestly expect that as the worst possible scenario

negan respected the fact that abraham looked him in his eyes...also the same with carl.
negan doesn't kill women(sasha/michonne/rosita/maggie) and aaron really wouldn't be a significant death....eugene is out,they beat him up....why bother if negan was going to kill him.
it's a given it's not rick.

i think daryl is not the one either....i think he will be around to be the one to influence dwight to change sides.

I think it's obviously going to be Glenn with a slight chance that it might be Abraham. In the comics, Abraham is the one who gets killed with the crossbow bolt, not Denise. Kirkman has said that he thinks he killed Abraham off too early, which might mean something for this scene...not sure. Abraham is the only one who didn't really show fear towards Negan. If someone is defiant to Negan in that way, it would make sense for him to get rid of him.

That being said, I still think it's Glenn.

i think negan in a sick way respects people who show no fear...in the case abraham chesting up and carl not even blinking....i have to say carl was cool as a cucumber there....i loved it.

I wasn't arguing that Abraham was the one Lucille'd, just that he'd get it before Carl would.

I still think it's Glenn, with Abraham and Daryl following being the other likely choices. But of course, this entire thing could be a cop-out from killing a major player in the story. There's a conspiracy theory that they did it like this because the cast is going to have contract negotiations and because no one in the cast seems to know how actually got killed, it'll be a way for them to put their boots on their throats at the negotiation table.

he sent 5 guys(1 with a spear) in a beat up pickup truck that carol took out.....really

I thought he was referring to the men that were sent to the place with the killing floor that Carol and Maggie were held prisoner. Well, referring to both perhaps.

That entire speech is pretty much lifted from the comics, with "fuck" being replaced. So stupid at how gruesome the show is, yet saying "fuck" is still taboo on basic cable. Pretty sure the Saviors made several attempts to get into Alexandria and were killed by the defenses there, this never happened in the show, hence Negan's comment maybe making more sense.

I think negan didn't kill carl,if he did,then why would he say 'if you move,kid will get hurt' or something like that.I think it is not abraham but someone skinny or someone 'weaker'(yes I am saying glenn lol) because of negan's comment right after the first hit.

Btw fear the walking dead sucks imo(this is the right place to discuss it right ?) I mean it is the same story with different characters.I was expecting some information about virus o why there are so many walkers in cities,I mean what killed all those people at the same time ?
