Maybe I should have specified I was curious if anyone suspected someone other than Glenn, and why. It very well could be him, but most of the theories I've seen that say it's Glenn are based on unreliable stuff like the fake audio (or hearing things that aren't there in the real audio), trying to use counting/background imagery (impossible due to video and audio being mismatched + even the actors didn't know who it was at the time that scene was shot-- they had to come back later to finish the scene). I think the POV theory is the only one that makes sense, but it doesn't pinpoint which person from the van it is. Since it's supposed to be a "beloved" character, I suspect either Daryl or Glenn. (Michonne is also possible but I doubt it's her.)

I'm still sort of in the same place with this. I know that Kirkman being so involved has given the show free license with most fans to do whatever they want and not really follow the comics, panel for panel...but I still think it's Glenn. Kirkman has said he regretted killing Abraham in the comics, so him avoiding his death last season, only for him to be killed a few episodes later COULD be seen as waste. Daryl isn't in the comics, but his legacy in the show has linked him to a character in the comics. Killing him off now would be passing on the potential for a lot of cool things for him.

Even with the differences, Glenn being killed off still makes too much sense within the world the show has created. Of course it could be someone lame like Aaron...but I hope not.

I understand they specified it's a character "beloved" by fans, so minor characters are probably out.

They are apparently getting more faithful to the comics, I hear, so that's certainly a point in Glenn's direction. Though it could also be a point in favour of the character I think you probably mean from the comics taking Daryl's place on TV. Playing devil's advocate a little further, there's also some weird symbolism and possible story planning that could be pointing to Daryl though.

Obviously it's all based hypothetically on symbolism/story analysis, but that seems the next best option after POV (which truly only narrows it down to the people in the van).

I mean, perhaps... But a lot of the evidence is from so early on in the season, that it's hard for it to symbolize much IMO. At least, not more so than others. I could see the same sort of video explanation being made talking about Glenn and how we all thought we watched him die already, Maggie accepting that he must be dead with the help of Aaron, the very heavy-handed reference to his fate in the scene with the polaroids all over the wall, and him "saving" Heath from having to murder the Saviors in the same episode.

Aside from the symbolism in the video, the only other evidence I see is Dwight's existence in the show, but while I once thought that they wouldn't be able to coexist, now I'm not so sure. I will say that Daryl dying would allow for Abraham to be the right-hand of Rick for once, like he was in the comics for a time.

The point she's making in the video is that Daryl is not only the first to be involved with the Saviors but the most deeply involved as well (after bumping into Dwight's splinter group). She actually has a decent point about things being settled between the same people they were started with, and gave specific examples from past seasons in the comments. (But obviously it could stay between Daryl and Dwight and not have to end right now with Negan.) The picture wall thing could just be an homage and not foreshadowing his own death too.

And that's the end of me playing devil's advocate. In terms of story and character development, Glenn is probably the best option. I guess they had to create a smokescreen so audiences wouldn't be underwhelmed by a comic book-identical outcome.

Yeah, I guess that aspect of the theory is somewhat substantive. A part of me resents the fact that these theory need to even exist...

Looks like SpoilingDeadFans is steadily narrowing down who the likely Lucille victim is based on on-set sightings. Without spoiling I can say one of the frontrunners above appears to very probably be safe (not 100% certain but highly likely). I'm not normally a huge fan of spoilers but in this case I don't think I want to wait until October to find out who it is I won't be able to look forward to seeing in the show anymore.

There's no picture I can see, but aside from Daryl, Abraham has been mentioned as being sited. Just from a cursory look, nothing I see from Glenn. Seems pretty obvious who they went with. Still such a cheap and stupid choice they went with it being almost certainly spoiled during filming...

Not just photos but he hasn't been spotted by anyone since episode 1. :/

Steven Yeun was in Korea for a movie shoot after they shot the first ep (they're believed to be on ep 4 right now), but I think that film might be in post-production? Not sure. Some TSDF people seem to believe the clincher for Glenn's demise will be if he can't be spotted (with Maggie) whenever shooting starts at the Hilltop. Makes sense, since no matter what they do with her storyline in the future she currently needs immediate medical attention and even if Denise hadn't been killed off, an obstetrician is what she needs most.

Spoiler: LV update for anyone wondering

Despite the AMC lawsuit threat that TSDF wrote about a while ago, there are still eyes and drones? watching filming from afar. Glenn and Abraham (possibly both) seem to be the new frontrunners for the bat. There's a possibility those who were injured/sick but not killed (including Maggie and maybe Sasha, both of whom could be at Hilltop) might have been filmed indoors or aren't going to be seen for a number of episodes further into the season.

A lot of people weren't sure if she was in character there or not. My guess is that it's related to Ezekial/Shiva, since Morgan and her were brought to the community that he's in charge of.

The result was rather predictable, but I guess the episode itself didn't feel that way. Still seems like some of it was completely unecessary (mainly the whole Rick in the smoke scene). But was there in order to eat up enough minutes in the episode to only focus on the contents from Issue #100.
