When Abraham died I was like *phew lad* then Glenn :emocat ... well I kinda felt indifferent yet heartbroken idk
I was sad when he died though. I'd liked him from the beginning of season 5 and 6 :feelsbadman
Nothing to do with me having him as my MG Avatar I swear

It was kind of "fuck with the comic readers" move to kill more than one person. It's the same sort of thing they did last season with Glenn and the dumpster.

I mean, the episode was pretty gut-wrenching and everything, but I think it would have still be more effective if we knew who got killed in the finale. Or they could have killed one in the finale, and killed someone else in the premiere. Pretty much everyone had Glenn and Abraham nailed down as the most likely victims.

It's also a bit odd that Kirkman lamented killing Abe so early in the comic and giving Denise his death in the show, only to kill him like, what? 4-5 episodes later?

I'm sorry but their deaths were really stupid. It wasn't dramatic or sad, it was just gross (not that I have a problem with "gross"). They just killed off two of their best characters (Glenn probably being the best) just for shock value. Bloody, gruesome deaths don't = good writing.

And what was up with Daryl getting up to punch Negan for killing Ab? When did they ever talk? How was this believable? If anything they should have had Glenn die first and then Daryl goes "berserk" which leads to Ab dying as well.

Well, what does it matter who was killed first really? The punch was completely stupid on it's own, regardless of who was killed. That itself is what created the second death apparently, which doesn't really make much sense to me. You have everyone but Daryl cowering in fear, including Rick? If it wasn't for the existence of Dwight, I would have much rather have had them killed off Daryl, his character is so played-out for me. But AMC didn't have enough balls to do that.

Daryl is like the next generation Rick, so of course he's a "fan favourite". Though, it's not as if Glen wasn't either... I just think that while it could have been executed better, it still sparked that feeling of "We're in the Apocalypse where the Walkers aren't our only enemy".

It matters for a lot of reasons, one I already mentioned. It is unbelievable someone as calm and collected as Daryl sprung to his feet in rage to punch Negan over Ab's death, especially after Ab was being so strong and ushering everyone to remain where they were. It makes no sense when you consider Daryl's character. He wouldn't do this, he just wouldn't! Not when he knew Negan would kill someone else or harm Carl. If it was Glenn? Maggie? Sasha? Carl? He would definitely try something like that, but over someone like Ab he barely knew? Barely even interacted with? This was an act of forgetfulness on the writers concerning Daryl's character (though to be honest making him angry and out in the woods in the first place was completely out of character too). It was poor writing and was sprung onto the show and the viewers in an effort to give them a reason to also kill Glenn for shock value.

Another reason is that the introduction of Negan and Daryl's outburst sidelined Glenn and Ab's "heroic" and "sad" deaths. Their deaths were secondary, meaningless, useless. Unemotional. They think just because they made Glenn's eyeball pop out or show us Ab's bashed in head it makes their mediocre decisions and writing "amazing" but it doesn't.

Also, I agree. It should have been Daryl, especially after his episode, but since his actor is best friends with the creators of the show it will be a long time until they even consider killing him off. Which sucks, because Glenn and his actor should have been given that chance of longevity. You don't see characters like that every day, who feel like a real guy you'd meet on the streets and performed by someone as good as Steven.

Next generation how? He's been on the show longer than like anyone currently living, save for Rick.

My point is Daryl's actions don't make sense, regardless of who was killed. Maybe back in season 1 or 2, but the situation was as plain as day. It seemed uncharacteristic.

I mean, Glenn was in the first episode, so I don't think longevity is something he's missing out on. I probably would have disliked it if they didn't give Glenn the death he has in the comics, because it has some particular ramifications for the story. The problem is the way in which they killed Glenn after Abe and this being the result of that stupid cliffhanger makes it feel a bit underwhelming. They wanted to shock people in the know by killing Abe, but not deviate too far from the source material (no spoilers, but they really can't do that now in regards to Glenn).

Abe and Glenn´s deaths were a joke, after the season 6 cliffhanger, in my eyes, if the plan was to kill those 2 from the get go, one death should´ve happened in the season 6 finale and the other in the beginning of the 7´s due to Daryll´s fuck up.

Also killing off Abe was stupid, even robert Kirkman stated he wanted to make him live longer due to wasted potential in the way he killed him off in the comics, all for having him killed just a few episodes later, excelent logic...:facepalm

Whats worse is that Negan could´ve picked better guys to bash with Lucille that would get Daryll more over the edge and make his actions more justifiable to a extent (like the guy that was giving him some positive development).

Iirc....Kirkman said he wanted to give Abe a more fitting death because he wasn't happy with how he died in the comic....
They had to make room for Jesus who is Rick's right hand man in the comics....
Why they took daryl away to develop the relationship between Rick and Jesus.

Yeah....that too.
I have a feeling Dwight will give his life to save daryl at some point.only one guy can carry the crossbow :heh

Im really looking forward to Maggie's character development after what happened.heard she's going to go to a real dark place and become kinda cutthroat....

If anything I'm loving about negan is the fact he brought Rick back down to a feeble person like when he first awoke from his coma.
Negan to Rick is more terrifying than the whole Apocalypse....lol

Who told you that?

Either way, they could change her journey a bit in the show still.

Ah okay. I mean, they can go any number of routes with this in the show I guess, but I don't know whether I'd characterize Maggie as going to a "dark place". I guess it'd be the same way you'd describe anyone dealing with the loss of life like that.

I'm not really sure why they paired Denise up with Tara if they planned on expanding Oceanside the way they did and giving Tara the exposition and relationship potential with Cyndie.

It's like they gave Denise's Abraham's death, but then killed him not too long after anyway, and Denise's death doesn't even seem to have a huge impact on Tara herself necessarily because she was offscreen with Heath for so long (in part due to the actresses IRL pregnancny) and her learning about Denise's death and their confrontation with the Saviors came at the very end of her episode. So if Cyndie exists, then why make Denise gay and pair her up with Tara in the first place? I guess they felt like neither Heath or Denise were interesting enough to be introduced as a couple? And Tara had to be finally paired off with someone? A lot of the alternative pairings-up they do in the show feel rather weird to me for some reason.

I think the first half of the season being calling "slow" makes some sense because of how many bottled episodes there were. Not that there weren't things to enjoy with them. But I think making so many standalone episodes hurts the pacing.

The first two episodes of this half of the season have been better though. As someone who's read the comics though, I'm not terribly thrilled with this Junkyard group. It seems like some half-assed Mad Max inspiration, but sort of comes off a bit too anachronistic for the world the story is set in. Now, this could be the origin story for a future group, but even then, it just seems goofy and out of place to me. But aside from that, I've liked it. I just hope they can do right by the awesome story and arc top come. All Out War done correctly on the screen could be amazing.

Sasha? Based on what?

Jesus is a bit of an obvious answer, so if it isn't him then I'm betting on it being Sherry. Dwight would come after that IMO.
