not that much wildlife over here.... as i live directly by the baltic sea (only 10min till the beach and the river 'trave' is directly in front of the housedoor) there are more fish to be counted as wild life >.< then the typical birds, seagulls and such and in the little forest on the other side of the river i sighted some fawns, rabits and such ^^; that's about all.....
the only wild bear in germany got shot bout one week ago, because it took farm animals as prey >.< poor bear ;__;

thread revival time! :XD

Wildlife huh.. Occasional rat in the drain, spoilt cats that won't eat rats but gets into a fight almost every other night and stray dogs crossing the road. There were some cheeky monkeys near this 'jungle' area but they cut down the place to make space for a new polytechnic. poor monkeys, I don't see them any more T.T

New leopard species found in Borneo

The Borneo clouded leopard is darker than the mainland species and has many distinct spots within its small cloud markings. It also has a grayer fur, and a double dorsal stripe.

The report - Borneo's Lost World - highlights the need to conserve the forests of Borneo, not just for well-known endangered species such as orang-utans and rhinos, but because they also provide habitats for possibly thousands of plant and animal species still to be discovered.

I live in the city, and I can hardly or never see any wildlife at all. The closest i have seen is a snake (eeeeek!) and squirrels (almsot everyday) and storks I think around the end of the year (migration?). Oh, and once when i was in australia, i saw kangeroos just in the park opposite a building where i standing. They don't seem to be afraid of man, may have gotten used to us. What about you guys? Ever been frightened by any wildlife that you come across? :)

Well, my aunts live just outside the city limit. So her place was surrounded by trees and tall grass. One time, i was helping her watering her plants and then i saw somethign that resembles the hose.... but it turns out to be a snake. If i were in the olympics that afternoon, i would've won 10 gold medals for sprinting. And then there was one time that i froze when i saw a shark during snorkling in Bunaken.

I saw a wild turkey a few weeks ago in my friend's backyard. The thing looked kind of mean to be honest. There's been a major problem with wolves in my town the past few months, but they're running out of places to go as things get built up. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw the chupacabra, but I can't say for sure. :D

I dont have much exposure other than the same of dogs cats and squirrls.

Only when i go to Mexico back home i see all kinds of animals ranging from exotic birds to dangerous snakes.

Man, in the U.S. rich people have to pay to pretend their poor..(Camping). But some people have to deal with wild animals everyday..

We have...many things in Hawaii. But not snakes (yay), or parrots or monkeys, contrary to popular belief. XD;

I live right near a forest nature preserve on a mountain, but pretty much all I see are birds -- Japanese white-eyes, mynahs, shama thrushes, and really cute orange-ish finch-type things I can't identify. There are wild boars around here, but I guess they're pretty good at hiding. Mongooses sometimes make rare appearances, especially more around the actual city of Honolulu (I'm kind of on the outskirts).

Also, way too much rain=way too many centipedes finding their way inside the house. >< Lots of spiders, too. ...tl;dr

I don't really hate snakes (cus I've never seen one outside the zoo), but the thought of seeing one in the wild scares me. >_> And it sounds like the snakes in Mexico are exactly like the centipedes here... Ugh. I'm sure there are centipedes in Mexico, too.

Your poor dog... T_T I'm lucky I don't have to worry about my cat doing anything like that...

Nothing special in Pittsburgh, PA the occasional rain brings out the slugs but besides that usually someone's dog gets loose, it seems to only happen in Spring, Summer, and Autumn I swear :P every year but never the same dog

Well I have seen a lot of wildlife in my life time. When I was two and sitting in a pack on my fathers back, he was charged by a moose and ran. So I was sitting there staring at this moose chasing us and laughing and kicking my feet while my father ran like the dickens. I've seen a few snakes but mostly the harmless gardner snakes including a whole pack of babies at the zoo but they weren't an exihibit at the zoo suprisingly... the mama just found a spot on the side of the path a good place to brood her eggs I guess. My sister and I were driving on a back road in Arizona and came around a corner to see a black bear standing in the road we both yelled camera and dove to get our cameras while the bear beat feet back up into the woods. The bear was faster then we were so neither one of us got a camera up in time to take a picture. My sister likes to provide a nice place for wild birds to come in since she is a bird-watcher and learning to be a bird-bander so we get all kinds of birds in our backyard, downy woodpeckers, mountain and black cap chickidees, dark eyed junko's, flickers, sparrows, finches, american gold finches, White and red breasted nuthatches, morning doves, european collared doves, rock pidgiens, and we have 2 species of hawks in the neighborhood as well, sharp shinned and coopers hawks. Well today I was out in the backyard and one of the sharp shinned hawks was just sitting on our fence looking for a nice meal and was nice enough to stand still long enough for me get a few shots off with a camera.

Edit: What an incredible day today has been wildlife wise... Before the Hawk our local Black Squirrel was in a tree in the snow. (I will keep trying getting pics of him.) And now this evening we had a red fox in our yard (this guy was to skiddish and ran at the first site of me so I didn't get any pics of him). Mind you I live in a larger city only a couple of blocks away from a 3 story mall.

Wad does anyone think abt the cloning of extinct/endangered animals?

I think if they have the luxury to actually clone animals, they should have used those resources for their conservation instead and protect endangered animals from being extinct. :notrust

Here's a gallery of cloned animals

I wonder if they're as wacky as the ones in "Ice Age". :XD
