Re: The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving

Jon Snow is my favorite (without u :3c) character in ASoIaF so far. I hope he doesn't die. The show fucking sucks are killing off fan favorites apparently :gwah

Richard Madden is cool. He looks like one of my best friends to be honest... Very much so in fact. That set was probably your best so far in my opinion.

It's true that the adaption has to be really good to surpass the source material. I can't think of that many examples. There's a few movies, anime and individual episodes (anime) that does it.

One I've debated with myself for years about is LOTR books vs movies. The movies were just so freaking fantastic. I'm almost always for more detail, but the LOTR books had too much dull parts in them to be honest. So kind of feel like I'm betraying the books, but I've convinced myself the movies are better.
Without u? :oh

Yeah, no one is safe in ASoIaF :edu

I can think of some movies that are just so amazing that I'd find it hard to believe the book is better, but I can't really say that with certainty. Blade Runner, There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men come to mind.

I think I would have to go back and read LOTR before I can really say with any certainty if it surpasses the books. But off the top of my head, I would say the movies are more enjoyable

What about Richard Madden? :gwah

Well who wouldn't be? I think the series tides me over until the next book, and it's always cool to see it set to celluloid and junk.

...and yeah, really caught by the book...so much so that you still haven't read Feast or Dance :yelling
He as well, but...:hurr

And wth you know I'm desparately waiting for them to come out >;|

-------------------------------------------

I like LoTR movies better as well...
I mean, Orlando :hurr

Am I the only one that only had a crush on Orlando when he was Legolas, and saw nothing special about him in other movies? xD
Long haired dudes ftw.

Jeez... I knew I should have made it clearer for you. I wrote favorite without u, you are so slow :edu

I've read LOTR three times, once before the movies, once mid-movies and once after, so yeah. The books are kind of more rhythmic and off. There's a crap load of philosophical thoughts and songs that are deep, but also boring to me. Not to mention the super boring long parts of the Shire in the start of the books (and the cleansing in the end which was really anti-climatic), Tom Bombadil nonsense and eternal Elrond meeting. However there are parts that are way better described and felt, like the journey from Elrond to Moria, which was kind of long in the books and much more intense, as well as Frodo's actual feelings and thoughts, and journey which was much more dramatic and dark in the books. But overall movie > books because of the boring parts in the books that the movies just skipped or made much, much shorter.

Am I the only one that only had a crush on Orlando when he was Legolas, and saw nothing special about him in other movies? xD

In a totally no homo kind of way, I think Orlando looked way better in e.g. PotC and Kingdom of Heaven than he did in LOTR. Blond long hair is not how I picture handsome dudes. At least I would never dye my hair blond and grow it out like that. But having Orlando type hair in PotC wouldn't be totally unheard of. It's even my hair color and type (not the length he has, but the hair itself).

I think he looks thin and weird in PotC ._.
I'm not crazy about blonds, I guess I don't care much about hair color, but I think that blond long hair looked better on him. Made his face softer. But I can't help xD Love long hair xD

The set was good, but the way you defend him means you have the hots for him :edu

I defended him? Oh you mean me mentioning him when darj didn't? Well it's only natural...he's better looking than both of them.

Is the myth the same for girls? That girls more easily have the hots for guys with long blond hair (or blond hair in general), just like boys have the hots for blond girls more easily? The myth is that blond = instantly more interest.

As I said, not in my case xD I don't have the hots for any. I just rly like long hair. And, maybe brazilian girls would prefer blond guys 'cause reds can seem way too exotic and brown/black is too common.

Not here, I don't like blondes for that exact reason; cos everyone else does :hmph So my ideal would be redhaired, glasses and freckles :nod oh and thick!

Gary I find myself reading Berserk right now, though today was supposed to be my GoT day :sweat guess it's postponed til tomorrow
