In the last page Morgan's says that off all the Worst Generation one of them will rise to become the next pirate king.

Oda is officially saying that No one else except the Worst Generation can become pirate king.

So even Zoro and Killer are in the running.

IDK much about Killer (nobody does). Zoro's ambition is not to become PK. There is no reason he would become one. It's the same situation with WB. WB had One Piece handed to him on a silver platter and refused it. Morgans is a character in Oda's story, not Oda's personification within the story. So I'd argue that no, they aren't even in the running for it, if they have no interest in it.
It's obvious that Luffy is going to be PK when the story is over. Unless Oda wants to go down in history as building up the most pointless story ever (all this focus on Luffy, and he doesn't even achieve his goal). We all know Luffy is going to become PK. The story is about how he gets there. I think Morgans just sees that Luffy has an unusual amount of crazy events circulating around him and that is probably similar to how Roger was in his prime.
The obvious top contenders from the Worst Generation are Luffy and Blackbeard.

Morgan already believed that Pirate King will be from the worst generation.... That is the reason he cheers Luffy on... This actually solidifies Luffys credibility to become a pirate king.
I would actually say Luffy was lagging behind due to the timeskip...
Blackbeard is the most likely to take the throne as we know it. Luffy and Law are strong contenders, but Bege also has increased his credibility here...

I took it as Morgans is the one who popularized the phrase "The Pirate King". He's probably the one who put out the story about rogers execution too.

He's using the news to manipulate (why I don't know) and right now he wants the story to be "someone from the worst generation will be pirate king"

I’d argue that Luffy is actually the closest/strongest contender. Blackbeard is stronger than him and has a bigger force now, but the game of becoming PK isn’t having the biggest muscles. It’s finding the four Road Poneglyphs that will lead you to Raftel and the Rio Poneglyph/One Piece.

Luffy currently is the only person with two Road Poneglyphs, and the only person with the ability to have them translated.

Well considering how Blackbeard is an opportunist, he probably's been doing the same thing... He may know a little of poneglpyhs too, we cant be so sure...
Only he and shanks are the ones who dont own one.
besides, i think poneglyphs are to find one piece, which will surely make you the pirate king.. But the Pirate King is the one who rules all the seas... If Blackbeard can beat the rest of the Yonkou's, he is already closer to acheiving that.

With Blackbeard beeing such an opportunist, i don't believe he's searching himself for the poneglyphs. I think he's waiting for someone other to do this and follow him/her. And while he's waiting he's building up his forces to ensure that he beat the one, that collected all poneglyphs and is on his/her way to raftel. That's the way of the least resistance for him and he has only to beat one party by himself.

Just to remember:
- He joined the WB pirates, to get his hands on the Yami Yami no MI
- He waited till someone got his hands on it and then took action
- He hunted Luffy to get the open Shishibukai spot. (Fighting Ace instead wasn't his intention)
- He took the opportunity of the low guard in Impel Down to strengthen his crew
- He waited in the war at Marinefort until Whitebeard was nearly dead to deal the finishing blow and gain his fruit.
- I doubt, that he searched for the RA headquarter, but when it's already found by accident he thought he could invade it

Conclusion: He has never initiated an event, he just waited for the perfect time with the least resistance and let other do the work.
And thats the way he will go on. Also it were Luffy's actions which were the causes for Blackbeards opportunities (except the yami yami no mi)

No he's not. He's saying the next Pirate King will be a member of the Worst Generation, but he's not saying only someone in that group can become Pirate King.

Zoro and Killer aren't in the running because they're not captains, and Zoro doesn't care to become a pirate without Luffy. If anything, Morgans is betting that Luffy will become the Pirate King.

Morgan's claim is groundless. According credit to his words would be a mistake. Who is morgan to begin with? He just publishes things, he doesn't KNOW things for sure.
Like, Whitebeard telling Blackbeard "you're not the one Roger expected" and "One Piee exists", this has some weight. I can believe a man like Whitebeard, he knows what he's talking about. But Morgan? These words from him are nothing more than a feeling, an expectation, a hope for big news material.
Like, i do believe Luffy will become Pirate King, because he's the main character and all that; but Morgan's claim in that last page didn't hype me much, if at all. I couldn't care less what Morgan thinks. This is just that, a thought, nothing close to a confirmation (though again, with Luffy being MC, him being PK is confirmed to begin with).

Morgans' claim isn't groundless if you also agree that one of the Supernovas will become the Pirate King, and if you also agree that Luffy has the best chances of becoming Pirate King. I don't think his statement is a hope for big news material, but him stating how impressed he is with Luffy and the Worst Generation for making waves. Of course, I don't remember if previous generations of pirates have done ballsy stuff like attacking Yonkou fleet or ending Doflamingo's (or his predecessor's) reign as Joker.

We as readers know that Luffy will become Pirate King. It is not "one of the Supernova", it's him only, and we know that since we are reading the story and he's the MC. Morgan is completely different, he has no way to say for sure "one of them will be PK". So yeah, in my eyes he is groundless.
Being impressed by how they're making waves doesn't necessarily mean one of them will be PK. Having the balls to invade a Yonko's territory doesn't automatically mean that you have what it takes to be PK, and even less that you WILL become PK.

Morgans has no way to be sure, but he's gambling based on what he has seen and knows.

Maybe not to us, but to characters who understand the risk of taking on a Yonkou, and the miracles of surviving a Yonkou, it would mean that. For all we know, the Supernovas are the first generation since Roger to brazenly attack and survive Yonkou and survive the Marines.

But how does surviving a Yonko place you closer to being PK than Yonkos themselves? Morgan has no way to place Supernovas higher than Yonkos in the rush for OP. Making waves, beating Doflamingo (which is a great feat but still considered child plays for a Yonko), beating a Yonko commander (Luffy, Urouge), these things are impressive for sure, but not enough to pretend being superior to Yonko in the standings.
For now, there is no one in the Worst Generation (i'm excluding Blackbeard though) who can beat a Yonko or an Admiral; and none of them have the resources (territory, crew, influence etc) that the Navy or that each Yonko has. At this point in the story, Morgan can indeed believe that the Supernova COULD enter the competition and be legit. But for him to say one of them WILL become PK, this is extremely far fetched.

I don't think this is so far fetched. Morgans is mostlikely long enough in the business to give a proper estimation of the situation.
And i don't think that it's just based in this sole incident, this presumption is morelikely based on what the worst generation accomplished in such a short time, while the "old" Yonkous are standing still and preparing to defend their positions instead of taking the risk to make the next step.
You just can't become number one in a race, when you're just focused on defending your second place while looking behind. But if you look infront and take the risks on the third place you can overtake the second place to become number one.

The Worst Generation accomplished nothing worth of praise, aside from two or three of them. (again, i'm excluding Blackbeard who is a special case)
Kidd, Apoo, Hawkins, XDrake, Killer, were either utterly crushed and/or forced to serve under a Yonko. Yeah they got balls, but in the end they did nothing.
Jewery Bonney didn't do anything at all i think. Zoro either, aside from beating Pica...
Urouge defeated a Yonko commander. That is a good feat, but still he was crushed afterwards and forced to flee.
Luffy and Law defeated Doflamingo, a good feat but considered child plays for people of Yonko caliber.
Luffy and Bege attacked Big Mom, didn't do any damage, and were forced to flee to survive.

Like, at the end of the day what did the Worst Generation accomplished exactly. Yes they have balls to actually dare attack Yonkos. But each time they either got crushed, forced to serve under the Yonko they attacked, or were forced to escape for their lives.
I'm expecting Zoro and Law to have their time to shine soon, but for now, only Luffy is worth praising for beating 2 Yonko commanders (though he was helped by Nami against Cracker). And Urouge, who defeated Snack. All the rest of the Worst Generation didn't do crap.

Basically i can summarize it this way: if you take off Luffy from the Supernovas, would you still believe Morgan's claim that one of them will be Pirate King? I sure as hell would not considering what each of them did so far.

Because it shows you either have luck, power, grit, or willpower to be able to piss off a Yonkou and still survive somehow. How many aspiring pirates have challenged a Yonkou somehow? Pissed them off? And how many of them have survived? He'd have a better way to place Supernovas higher than the Yonkou (who are old af anyway) than we do, given as a character in the world who reports news, he'd know more than we do.

He never said they were superior though? He just said that they were the closest to becoming Pirate King, even though they're weaker than the Yonkou. He's also not talking about now, I think, but in the future whenever.

If Buggy attacked a Yonko, got crushed and forced to serve undr him, would you consider he has "luck, power, grit, willpower", and would you find Morgan's claim of Buggy potentially becoming PK believable?

The majority of the Supernovas were proven to be absurdly far from reaching Yonko level. Kidd Apoo and the rest have willpower and balls, but at the end of the day they are mere nuisance for Yonkos. And yes they have luck, the luck that the Yonko they attacked actually didn't finish them off. Takes more than that to become PK.

Like, i do believe we'll see more from them, they'll have their role to play. But inside the OP world, how can Morgan even believe someone like Kidd is close or has a chance of becoming PK, now that his alliance got utterly destroyed by Kaido and he's now imprisoned and the rests are slaves? How is that believable?
The only one going far enough to become a potential threat is Luffy, Luffy alone. And again, we didn't see a lot from Zoro and Law yet, and we know Urouge could do something. But the rest of them? No way.
Had Morgan said "i have the feeling Strawhat Luffy could become PK" i'd say alright, fair enough. Considering what he has shown. But including the rest of the Supernovas is absurd.

They are absolutely not the closest to becoming PK, considering one has to possess the Road Poneglyphs to attain Raftel, and aside from Luffy (who got his hands on Big Mom's), nobody came even close to obtaining a Road Poneglyph, let alone 4 of them.
We don't know if Morgan actually knows about Road Poneglyphs though, but if he doesn't it's yet another proof that he has no way to imply anything for sure. I'm not that sure he "knows more that we do".

BB's responsible for trigerrering the marineford war which happens to be the biggest event to occur in OP's world since roger's death triggered the pirate age.
