Not as much as you might think. Remember the issue that was caused when he offered to pay the Mercenaries? He had no idea that would cause such a split in the group, or that he would wind up (as #2) following someone else's orders on account of it.

Ging, like Gon in a lot of cases, doesn't necessarily always think about or take others' thoughts and feelings, or their status on a given subject into consideration. Gon, I can pin it on his age. Ging doesn't really have an excuse, though.

Why have requirements to go over if success is not the intended goal?
The thing is, it worked.
Both ging's and pariston's predictions are a lot about gut feelings and adequately reading humans.
They do things and if they go wrong, they do something else. In this case, ging's action paid off.

We know that ging is a double star hunter. he didnt get there by not being able to teamwork. He spoke of all his teammates quite fondly.
He was able to pull off feats in ruin hunting and he was able to create greed island.
People might not like him a lot, but he is able to lead teams or at least partake in them.

So i am convinced that the reason ging did not go yet is because whatever the gatekeeper wants is not something ging can offer yet

So not every (powerful) lunatic goes over, fucks up, and brings back calamities?
You remind me a lot of Cheadle. :D Why would the same thing that protected Humanity before not be present now?

And knowing that's what the Gatekeeper is established to do, and with Ging and Beyond also knowing it... someone has some 'splaining to do about how they intend to get /Pariston/ through the gate.

The gatekeeper might also be very weak but influential and informed.
It could be that people can pass through all they want, but he only gives those he deemds worthy the necessariy information to survive.

And then he somehow also stops that information from passing on through people who already went through the gate, he knows if someone is listening/around anyway...?

Compare him to the old lady in the hunter exam.
If she didnt tell you how to actually get to the exam place, you are in deep trouble.

Ging is obviously a 'my way or the highway' kind of guy, just like Gon. In an attempt to hype him up Togashi tries to make it like all his actions turn out to be good but they're really just as random and nonsensical as Gon's. For example we know he changed a guy's name just to make GREED ISLAND acronym work, and then later we're told that changing the name somehow improved that guy's luck. That's not because Ging has foresight to know one name is luckier than another. It's just a Togashi bailout that the guy he changed his name didn't get ran over by a car because the new name has worse luck than the one before. I think it's quite insulting that Togashi even tries to compare Ging to Pariston, a person we know that has the organization skills to easily undermine the entire Hunter's Association if he wanted to. I don't mind the approach that Ging's wildcard nature throws a wrench in Pariston's perfect plan, but trying to imply Ging can somehow reliably outsmart and out-organize Pariston is simply an author bailout.

I disagree with that. Ging has really good instincts about how people are going to react to the actions he does.
The scene where he accurately gave chances about how likely it is for the zodiac to make a certain suggestion (drawing lots) indicates that his gambles are usually well calculated.
The thing is that, like pariston, he does not really lose anything if it doesnt work, he just does something else then, until he had better luck.

Pariston for example was sure he would lose the election, but ran with the stuff he did anyway.
Both of them dont always have safety that their actions effect in exactly they way they envision them, but they have a very good grasp about what are the best and worst things that can happen and how likely they are.
They also both understand opportunities when they are presented to them.

Ging's action make sense because he has Togashi's support behind him. Most of his prediction sounds like he's literally reading a list of spoilers he secretly obtained ahead of time. For example, his refusal to see Gon when everyone told him that his son was likely to die was based on no factual evidence whatsoever. It's simply 'he believed in Gon's friends', and since he has Togashi behind his back it is not the case that Gon actually just died or remain permanently incapacitated like what everyone in the world of HXH expects and his father never even come to see him on his deathbed. Now at some level we're told there's this quality in Gon and Ging that they're kind of 'favored by fate' as in whatever decision they make that makes no sense tends to work out well anyway. But the level of dependence on that basically changes 'favored by fate' to 'favored by Togashi' as there is zero factual justification for why any of Ging's plans would work. To be fair Pariston pulls some of this stuff too as he foresaw Gon's recovery the same way, but in general he's nowhere as blatant as Ging.

If Pariston was actually a bad person planning on ruining the Hunter's Association, there was nothing Ging could've possibly done to stop him. In this world, Ging would have done nothing except to count on a random rookie (Leorio) to stop him, and ultimately failing anyway since Pariston did indeed win the election and then is free to do whatever evil plot he was supposed to do. For that matter, even after he resigned, he's still free to do whatever ever plan he had. The only reason everything worked out well was that Pariston turned out to be quite possibly the most loyal guy to the association, which Ging does not know ahead of time (he was surprised when Pariston reveals that he thinks the Hunter's Association should've ignored V5 and go to DC first because that's how much faith he has in the association).
