Its a good theory, Its not perfect of course but at least it would somehow explain why Uraraka is so HEAVILY undeveloped. She supposed to me heroine of this manga but honestly at this point Momo feels more like it.
Do your really want compare 1-10 chapters twist to 200+ chapters twist?
LOL That was shocking to anyone? If anything it was just a piece of new information.
Sure, it could explain it. But, many female shounen characters are undeveloped. It doesn't mean she's the traitor. We don't know a lot about several Class 1-A characters. It doesn't mean they're all traitors. Maybe Uraraka doesn't have that deep a past so there's not much to focus on and instead, Hori can only show her development into a great hero.

Yes, I'm comparing Toga/Camie to the traitor because just like the other theories I've mentioned, Hori's purposefully given clues to the audience. It's not the length that matters, it's the fact that Horikoshi has repeatedly dropped hints to future story developments throughout his series. It's an established style to his writing that shouldn't be ignored.

Yes, it was shocking to some people. Maybe not to you, but that's fine. Not everyone pays as much attention to the details as others.

Thats has nothing to do with details. Compress isnt that important character and neither is Oji Herima thats why theres nothing really shocking here. Its interesting detail but no more than that. And wait, since when you talk about shocking when discussing traitor? You still think its Hagakure right? And thats like epitome of antishocking.

I don't really get this? Like, we don't get a lot of panel space with her necessarily, but the panel space we do get with her easily and succinctly explains her motivations and how her character has changed.

epends on what you mean. If you're talking about someone whose been trained to do that type of work then it's unknown at this point. Now, if you're talking about someone whose quirk could be useful in espionage, that's Hagakure.
Like I said in my initial post, Horikoshi is a writer who really loves his character foils - especially between the heroes and villains.

If you look at the roster of central protagonists and antagonists, almost all the main offenders have a counterpart:

* Deku - Shigaraki
* All Might - All For One
* Ochako - Toga
* Todoroki - Dabi
* Aizawa - Kurogiri

My theory is that the traitor will be someone who will be a character foil for Hawks (who himself was a spy) and that we can narrow down our suspect list from there.

But, wouldn't it be easier to just find clues? Horikoshi dropping clues to mysteries seems more consistent than finding a foil. We know he does that and has been since the start of the series. Again, what specifically are we looking for in Hawks' counterpart? Here's what I can think of:

-A villain
-Someone who can easily lie
-Someone with a quirk than helps them spy on others
-Someone with a strong quirk

For me, that doesn't narrow it down. Especially because Hori seems to be dropping clues on what the traitor does and having us go through the process of elimination that way. Yes, there are some hero/villain parallels but we won't know just how much the Traitor is truly Hawks' counterpart until we learn more about them, which will probably be at or after their full reveal.

Looking for in-story clues is a perfectly valid approach as well.

All I'm saying is that Horikoshi has some well-established patterns in his writing style that could provide some additional clues to narrowing down to the traitor's identity.

In regards to character foils, they don't necessarily have to be limited to the traits you just listed.

For instance, take the following examples from tvtropes:

* Uraraka-Toga

  • It's most notable when it comes to their feelings for Deku. They both admire him and want to emulate him, but in completely opposite fashions and for different reasons. While Uraraka has noted that Deku is a little "plain-looking", her feelings for him are healthy and she loves his desire to save people, unwillingness to ever give up, and resourcefulness in every situation- and she wants to be like him. Toga, on the other hand, thinks Deku is cute and her feelings are mostly twisted, as she loves that he's always getting himself bloodied up and she wants to literally kill him and be him.
  • They contrast each other physically a bit too; Uraraka is brunette, Toga is blonde; Uraraka has round eyes, Toga's are sharp; Uraraka's hair is neat and straight, Toga's hair is messy and spiky; Uraraka's perpetual Blush Stickers are cute and innocent while Toga's perpetual Luminescent Blush alludes to her depraved Blood Lust.
  • Finally, in fighting styles. Uraraka is relatively slow, but she's strong and durable for her size and she's a Bare-Fisted Monk who can tank a few strong hits and relies on restraining opponents. She also can easily end most fights by touching her opponents only once to make them float helplessly. Toga meanwhile is very fast and agile, but she's a weak Knife Nut who would rather dodge her opponents than take a hit, and she aims to kill when she fights. She has little One-Hit KO potential outside of stealth and usually has to cut her opponents up a lot before she wins. Finally, Uraraka's new grappling hooks nicely mirror Toga's needle hooks, and they even trade blows with them in their second fight.
* League of Villains - Meta Liberation Army

To the League of Villains: like the Hassaikai, they're a larger, better-funded, and - armed villain organization with its own claim to the rulership of the criminal underworld. While the LoV is broke and dealing with having no resources to the point of stealing from other villains just to get by, while being clearly lost in the matter of goals and how to achieve them, the MLA has the head of a giant company as their leader and have little worries about money while having a clear goal set by their predecessor and knowing their next target. Their leaders are even shown having a fine dine together in a fancy room (which isn't even their house, just their HQ) and discussing their plans while the next chapter shows the LoV scrapping for food in a lousy, abandoned place in the middle of the woods and has Shigaraki deflecting the question of what they're going to do now, as they have no clue of where to find The Doctor. Furthermore, they count well over a hundred thousand competent foot soldiers, while the League hasn't yet brought in a single new recruit.
In the case of Hawks the paralleling traits could be anything: Personality, fighting style, appearance, backstory, motivation, quirk etc.

The trick is to find characters whose traits parallel those of Hawks enough to act as a reasonably strong foil.

Welp, we saw that deku has more or less gone rogue in an attempt to protect his friends and family from AFO. Now... it's hard to imagine deku going through this with no support from adults. He needs food, water, shelter... So assuming he has support from someone it is probably allmight who would probably report to the UA principal and perhaps deku's mom. in which case the traitor might be relevant soon again.

I'm hoping that the traitor is relevant again in the sense that they are responsible for a villain attack on UA.

That's what I'm sort of hoping personally.

Either that, or they do something that allows Shigaraki and crew to escape.

If my hunch is right and the traitor becomes the main antagonist of this latest arc, and if Horikoshi's love of story cycles extends to the series' overarching story sagas - then the confrontation with the traitor is likely to be as big a game changer as All Might vs AFO.

Personally my money is on either Mina, Tsu or Aoyama.

I don't think that the traitor will be the main antagonist, but I think they will certainly play a major role in slipping up UA in some way.

Well, maybe not a main antagonist, but definitely a Knight of Cerebus like AFO was in the Kamino Arc
I'm not sure we'd see anything exactly like that, because I don't think any singular character can really have that effect on the story, but I could see them further adding more choas to a bad situation upon revealing themselves.

I am starting to feel the traitor plot. I forgot about it for a long time, but now I see so much possibilities for the near future!

Lets have flashback
This was never addressed again as far as I remember.But it surely was a leak since Overhaul knew they were coming that day.
He went to see old boss half hour before heroes and police arrived. Lets be real - at this point its clear it isnt pro heroes. big three, Aizawa or Deku. It leaves us with Kirishima,Asui and Ochako as main suspects. But I dont really believe Kirishima can be a mole after that flashback he had at the same very arc. Also I know many people dont take Uraraka traitor theory serious but here something more than just rambling about her character.

We have to consider that the leak is almost certainly not anyone within the main cast... And there is a chance that whoever is leaking is not doing it intentionally. I am going back to my theory that it is recovery girl. With her position it makes sense she would know good old ujiko who could then use some tech shenanigan to turn her into a leak.

for that matter, perhaps the term traitor or spy is not accurate. Perhaps leak is more appropriate...

And thats because?
Because for the most part it simply wouldn't make any sense. We have seen most of them rather extensively and event their thoughts at times. The only one that could make some sense as a traitor would be toru since she has the last appearances in general (pun not intended).

I am not inclined to thinking this is likely. But it is the only one in the entire main cast (including faculty and students) that makes an iota of sense. And even then not that much. Toru is unlikely but it's beyond absurd that kirishima, ochako or tsuyu would be willing traitors. As in, any of them being willing traitors would be every bit as absurd as midoriya being the traitor. Same for most of class A EXCEPT toru who is still pretty damn unlikely.

Why is Toru being the traitor unlikely? I think she's the most likely candidate given the clues Horikoshi dropped.
