I haven't even read the manga but i read the plot summary and it sounds like the modern-day version of the wizard of oz.
In the wizard of Oz, Dorothy, wich is equivalent to sakura goe, on a journey to get back home. Dorothy = Sakura.
Also In TRC Sakura seeks the help of the dimensional witch. Witch = The Wizard (wizard of oz).
Along the way of her journey sakura picks up a samurai and a magician who also have something they are looking for. Samurai and Magician = Tinman And Scarecrow.
Alot of similarities...
