I don't pay attention to that, usually. I have a somewhat strong aversion to enforcing or applying some sense of "morality" to art.

We have a movie where three of the four main characters aren't Anglo-Saxon men, where the villains are almost universally Anglo-Saxon themselves, and people still feel the need to pick it apart as being evidence for racism in Hollywood. Not denying that such things don't go on or anything, but since the very first footage came out, it was obvious this movie was going out of it's way to be racially inclusive. But honestly, aside from the whole "Leia is the only woman in the galaxy" meme from the first trilogy, I never thought the series was "problematic" in the first place. The series isn't completely based in humanity either.

When it comes to inclusivity, I think they have done a pretty decent job really. Sure in 2015 we are obsessed with our identity so the portrayal might be unfair to some people, but I think it's better than most movies. Besides, finally there are some Indonesian actors in AAA movies, so I couldn't complain.

And yeah, it's fine to want to see someone who looks like you in a movie, no issue with that at all. It's just sometimes the expectations seem really misguided.

Yeah, some of the guys whom Han Solo owes some money to. They're called "Kanjiclub" race or gang or w/e. They got that part because of The Raid, obviously.
