Yeah, that's why I'm being hesitant about buying it, although I'm still looking forward to it. I thought Long Dark is a semi-horror survival game, and survival horror games are my jam. Maybe I'd like it considering there's a story mode in it, but I'll wait for the sale just as usual.

Edith Finch is dissimilar to either of those, I think. Sure you can say that all three games are walking simulators, but I think the presentation and creativity of Edith Finch are clearly more exceptional. I can't guarantee it will blow your dick off or anything, but I had a fun time just watching and analyzing it. The game is relatively short - you can finish it in 3-4 hours - so if time constraint is your concern, you shouldn't be worry about that.
Nah, not horror in the traditional sense. I guess animals and extreme weather conditions can sort of substitute for traditional horror elements though, in a sense. It's not like I haven't been startled at all, to put it another way.

I wasn't implying that they were honestly, so I didn't mean to give off the impression. Just that they're considered similar as far as genre goes.

I just saw a footage of Hellblade gameplay on Youtube. It has boss fights, so it's not a walking simulator, fortunately.

Yeah, Haku and I are looking at some gameplay videos now. Seems to have a Souls-like combat system. Weird rune stuff too.

Interesting.

I guess the style of it is more appealing than the gameplay though. Souls-like has become the new Rogue-like...

Why not both?

I've only played the former (first three missions), so it's not like my opinion would be all-encompassing. I guess the gameplay would be enough to recommend, even though you might be a bit lost with the story if you haven't played Dishonored 2 (you would know the main characters from the first game and it's DLC, but not necessarily follow what's going on, the setting, etc).

I'm actually sorta dreading finishing it, since who the hell knows when we'll get Dishonored 3. :feelsbadman

I will, probably during the winter/Christmas sale at the end of this year. I dunno which one to get first, though. I heard there are (or were?) some technical issues about the game since/during the first day, thus the enthusiasm of the internet crowds, to me, seems a lil bit more dampened than what I'd expected for such a well-known franchise. It turned out that I'm currently deluged with paperwork, so it's not like I could play anything in my free time anyways. No need for me to hurry to buy either one of them.

Huh, what happened? I thought the studio is doing pretty well critically and financially, so I don't understand why they're not interested in milking the franchise at least annually.

Divinity looks immensely fun though, too bad the game might be a tad too long for me. It's been a long time since I played any good isometric CRPG (last one I played was Pillars, I think?)

For Death of the Outsider? I think it got review-bombed initially by the Chinese because there was some sort of bug where the game wouldn't run for them if the system language wasn't in English or something. Other than that, I've had zero issues running it, and while I didn't experience Dishonored 2's release state abortion firsthand, it still seems to run better than that ever did for me. I have settings up as high as they can go and it's rare for it to drop below 120fps at 1440p. It's smooth as hell.

Not sure, I still think Dishonored can and should be made, but from what I've seen in the public, people seem to doubt it happening any time soon. They either blame it on Dishonored 2 not selling as well as hoped, or they bring up story reasons. I still have the final mission to go, but I fail to see how that could be a thing. Even if they never made a game with Corvo/Daud/Emily/Billie again as the main character, the world built by these games could easily fit more stories in it.

If you mean Divinity Original Sin, that's a pretty fun game!
The sequel came out a week or so ago
