Shit happens :D. I also just voted for him because I like him more. Sadly we didnt get any information how the hell he defeated the Spot... or why Shinji didnt use it.

edit.: what does bs mean?

Like Shinji said it, it was a fluke. Two flukes.
I'm doing bad, but that's only because I said Kai and Yuuta would win for the lulz.

Right now, the surprises has been Yukimira's and Yagyyu's victories, and maybe Kamio's. If the color spread was used to confuse us, it has been done well

I honestly think Konomi is just rolling with new ideas that enter his head at last minute.

I can totally imagine him brain storming for ideas.
"Hmm...Predicting the future? Done that. Teleportation? Done that. Transforming the racket into a ball magnet? Done that. Transformed guy into a demon for no reason? Done that. Crucifixation? Done that. Killing an extincted species? Done that. Made a monkey play tennis? Done that. Made said monkey go all naruto during a match? Done that.
...hm...what should I do..."

Assistant:"Mr.Konomi, we gotta start drawing now."
Konomi:"...Alright give Sanada a black aura, and vaguely foreshadow what it does. I'll think of what it does later."

Seriously, there are so many holes in the story because Konomi thinks crap up last minute.

I'm listed as having voted... but not only I don't remember doing such, but also after checking through the whole thread I haven't. Weird. Oh well, here go my votes.

Atobe over Hiyoshi (hoping for the opposite)
Kaido over Tezuka
Shiraishi over Other
Bunta over Jackal (hoping for the opposite, but the fangirls will have it their way)
Other over Koharu
Echizen over Anyone In Existance (hoping for the opposite)
Mizuki over Inui (this is going to be a surprise, I guess..)
Akutsu over Kawamura
Kirihara over Yanagi (totally hoping not..)
Tooyama over Chitose (bah)
Tachibana over Kadowaki
Kabaji over Akutagawa (Kabaji is a nice pool of ideas. Jiro hasn't much room to improve as character)
Chinen over Tanishi (Maybe some surprise)
Kurobane over Amane
Hirakoba over Whoever
Sengoku over Whoever (he'll have a huge change, I'm sure)

By the way.. how do you know Kite beat Kai 7-0?

Because Kite it's an awesome player (he was defeating Kanto's Tezuka very easily till Hyakuren appears) and Kai lost to Singles Kikumaru.
I think, that, most of the times, we underpower the whole Higa Team beacuse Seigaku defeat them 5/0, but I think that players like Tanishi (I'd like Tanishi VS Choutaro), Rin or Kite are very interesting

He wasn't beating Tezuka easily, Tezuka as usual was screwing around.

Tezuka wasn't screwing around. Why do you guys say that about every character? Everyone was screwing around, so Kite was too! There.

Tezuka was pushing it as far he could without using any of his pinnacles, really.

If i remember correctly he looked as though he was gauging Kite's skill..he started to pick it up and when he did Kite flashed dirt in his face..tezuka gets serious and own him.

The dirt throwing was part of his style.

It's like Kirihara and his violence.

I would say that Tezuka COULD defeat Kite even without him going super saiyan, but then it would be a much much closer match.

Kite is definitely on Kantou Tezuka's level.

Im not denying that, Kite is actually awesome it's just he was used as fodder to show off Tezuka's skill.

The reason i say screwing around is because Konomi usually uses sweat as an indicative of effort (unless Muga is involved)

http://www.onemanga.com/Prince_of_Tennis/270/15/

Albeit a little, Kite was sweating..and Tezuka despite being down 4-0 wasn't sweating at all. That said Kite wasn't going all out either because he saved the big bang for when he saw Muga.

Oh my mistake then. Yeah, Tezuka wasn't going all "I CAN'T LOSE" against him yet. He hadn't even begun to spam Tezuka zone.

Though Tezuka would never lose games in order to gauge someone(that's more like Niou/Momo stuff) it's like he had no choice but to lose some games because of Kite's level.

So yeah, he wasn't trying that hard, but still trying. And Kite was definitely above his Kantou level. (Ninja move counters zero shiki)

Also, on a side note about Kite...Doesn't he look like tezuka with a weird haircut on this page?

Lol yea everyone in PoT has the same basic formula...its why my biggest hurdle when drawing them is their hair.

You can't judge a character in a fictional comic book by their sweat detail. In real life, probably. In a fictional manga series that defies all logic? I would say definitely no. One would argue that Sanada wasn't trying against Echizen, because he wasn't sweating. However, we know he was, because he used more than one of his techniques on one person. I would never judge someone in PoT by how sweaty they are. (Unless it is an absurd amount of sweat, in which case would indicate great frustration and effort)

Sanada was indeed schooling Echizen he was serious but half the work was done for him due to Ryoma's overzealous use of MnK he got to 5-1 pretty much effortlessly..it was on the way to 7-5 when he had to start putting in effort.

The fact that it's being drawn and the artist is aware that one character is drawn to be exerting himself more than another then i'd say it possesses some relevance. Same thing happened against Chitose who's sweating while tezuka shows no signs of fatigue whatsoever.

Now here ( http://www.onemanga.com/Prince_of_Tennis/351/01/) when he plays an opponent that requires nothing short of his absolute best he's sweating bullets..which is something that never happens to Tezuka...just to show what a deadly opponent Sanada and Tezuka were because so was he.

It's the opposite. In real life you can't tell by sweat because everyone has different sweat glands and degrees to which they sweat naturally. Some extremely different. I know a guy that sweats like we're running a marathon when we go bowling. But in the comic world it is a pretty clear indicator of exertion. This is not limited to POT.

All that aside, I got the impression that Tezuka purposely let him have a 4-0 lead to humiliate him for using the racket as a weapon (same way Fuji did to Mizuki for Yuuta), go reread the chapters and I think you'll see where I'm coming from.
