I watched two eps now, I don't hate it. Haven't seen anything else from Sorkin, so can't really say I'm a fan or not.

The Vikings show was a bit too much, or maybe not enough? I don't know. Guess I wasn't in the mood for the first 15 minutes.

And I'm also watching Digimon Adventures. Can't believe I used to think Matt was the arrogant bad guy as a kid, but jeezes, I would have fucking slapped that immature little prick Tai myself, with that worst millenial anime hair, ugh, nah, hate him.

I watched the first episode of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and it was great. Dirk himself was not quite how I envisioned him from the books.. But maybe I'll get used to it.

It seems to be placed on the same timeline as the books (Dirk mentioning his previous solved cases had me laughing) although I hope that's all the reference there is to the books because I feel the show gains points for doing its own thing.

Also, never before has so much happened in a first episode of a series. Love it.

Yeah, the dialogue is Sorkins trademark. And that his subject matter tend to be very 'adult'. (Politics, money, technology etc.) I can watch his films, but his style feels to me like something I cant really handle a long-format season of.

Yeah, it doesn't have much to do with the books. Dirk himself is different and the characters are pretty much original. But it works. It feels very Adamsy. Damn hilarious. And there is a kitten missing.

I really am liking this series more and more. Still not used to Dirk though. He's hilarious at times and a bit cringe-y other times... whereas in the books he was just hilarious and even sometimes badass in his own way.

I get you. At times he is like from a different show all together. But it doesn't really bother me that much, it gets better as the character grows and is explained more. And weird enough, the real protagonist of the show is Todd anyways.

Yes, I've grown accustomed to viewing the show with non-reader eyes. Accepting it's not Adams style of comedy at all, but more "American" humour. Which isn't bad once you realize that's how it's gonna be.

This show has some great duos. The super stereotypical cops; the commando sniper dude and the old CIA guy (although both these duos are ruined with the last ep I watched ); and of course Todd and Dirk but also Ken and holistic assassin chick (I like the parallels between these two duos and the dynamics).

So much crazy stuff happens and obviously all the answers won't be given until the end of the season at earliest, and some simple-minded people can't handle that I guess. Be read a lot of reviews saying it's too much all over the place in terms of story and just having random stuff happening, and that they dropped it mid-season because of this. Don't know whether to laugh or rage at these morons..
