Been gradually rewatching the original Twin Peaks over the last month or so, and finally finished it a couple days ago. Just watched the first two episodes of The Return and... now I understand what you meant. Friggin' hell this is... mindfuckery. Loving it.

Hey, have you read the Tove Jansson-illustrated Alice in Wonderland or The Hobbit? I've been trying to find a copy of the two of them (The Hobbit in particular) but can only find it in Finnish.. also found an old auction of a Swedish one which went for about 2500 SEK..

Looks super cool from what I can find on Google though, so would be awesome if that's the version my son gets to experience first.

I Once made a 100e bid on an auction of the 1st edition Jansson Hobbit original finnish translation ('Lohikäärmevuori', Dragonmountain) with her signature. It was eventually sold at 400e.

I haven't read Alice. I've googled for images and liked what I saw, but it seems to be near impossible to find.

Hm, weird, I can find the Alice one (in Swedish) pretty much everywhere... but not The Hobbit.

I'm looking to buy all the Moomin comic collections too, but those along with the books I'm looking to buy will empty my bank account atm.

Still, salary coming. in on Monday, so.

I've also wanted the comics for ages, but can't afford. I don't even have all the Moomin books myself. I did however just find the original officual Moomin museum exhibition guide from -88, second edition. Year after the museum was founded. Pristine condition. That thing is a treasure. Cost 3 euros!

But funny how it is the opposite with the books in Finnish

Btw, did you know Astrid Lindgren is the one who ordered the illustrations from Tove?

It's a great source for inspiration, I tend to look back at her catalog every now and then.

I always get a little extra into Tove Jansson at the “turn of the season”. Especially when winter turns to spring.

Or when summer turns to autumn.

Or when autumn turns to winter...

And then in the summer I usually read The Summer Book, too.

Well what can I say, she’s one of my favorite authors.

Today is the annual local comic con. I bought Vinland Saga and 80-year anniversary edition of The Hobbit (with Jansson illustration).

Now I have the film edition English paperback, the 80s Finnish 'new translation' softcover with Tolkiens original color illustrations printed on photography paper, the -00s Jansson print with the Swedish editions cover and the new anniversary edition with the 'Dragonmountain' cover originally from the first finnish edition.

Because having 4 copies of the same book makes perfect sense.
