Happy to please
Yeah, I know, and even if the girl might appreciate it, it's not authentic or personal at all. It's like people are buying chocolate and roses just
because. Not because they genuinely want to.
Exactly. I'd rather my girl knew that she is worth my time and is that special to me. I know I expect some personal stuff in whatever I get, whether it's from a lover or from a friend, makes it more special to me. Same to you, I think?
Nice! If she cried when recieving it then the card must've been awesome. Got any tips, man to man?
That's a good idea, making it personal and showing that they care. I've never really done anything like this before, not on val day, not ever because
a) I've been randomly sleeping around with women without caring about them at all, rarely remembering their names
b) The relationship I have with my female friends are quite vain/shallow. We use each other, you know, introduce people, hang out at parties, wingman.
She did, mostly because it was the most thoughtful gift she ever got, since I made it myself. I basically said happy birthday on the front, and on the left side, draw a pic of our IRC friends, somewhat accurate, with a friend raging, and all of us together with cake and etc, and on the right, I think I wished her a happy birthday. I could try to find you pics if I can though.
It's a good idea, yeah, but I really hope people don't use that advice on an ungenuine feeling because I don't want it ruined. "Oh hey, I'll just make something personal for her even though I hate her and cheat on her and treat her badly!"
Hopefully you can try my idea on her, out of genuine feelings. I really love doing things like this because it makes the woman smile, and it's awesome to see women smile. It's like, angelic. :\ Cheesy, but true.
My two only real female friends moved across the country before summer and I haven't really talked to them since (don't know why) and I never really appreciated them until after they left.
I'm not really the emotional type when it comes to showing feelings / becoming vulnerable. I actually have serious trust issues so I have an extremely hard time opening up to people.
Start talking to them again. If you really considered them your friends, you'd do better at keeping touch with them.
Me too, and I especially hate showing my weakness/vulnerability, but it's worth it if it's with someone you trust, like your girlfriend or something. Moments like that can create tender moments, and it shows closeness.
I'd say go out eat with some friends, it's val day, you can read manga any day, or when you come home.
I went on my first date with Emilia on a Tuesday. There's no reason to wait until weekends if you want to date. You can go out for dinner at any day, really.
Ah, right, viva la Suede! Drink at 16, pubs, clubs at 18!
lolwutfriends? I used to be pretty reclusive and rarely went out of my home in high school, and university at Brookdale, I make no effort since I'll know them for few months. Plus, I like being by myself, so for Valentine's Day, it'd be better to just read manga and stuff. I don't mind spending it with others, but what's the point when it'll be short? I can make friends easily though, but meh.
Oh, nice. How was the date? And you can, but it's more common to go on the weekends. Honestly though, I prefer any time because it's just more fun and spontaneous. Drop everything and go on a date for her because you wanna be with her. Romantic, amirite?
Well, legally, for you guys. We can do it illegally though, and we have since before 14 years of age. v.v
If you need help getting rid of your self-consciousness, just holler and I'll help! First step to getting someone to like you is to like yourself. You cant expect someone to love you if you don't love yourself.
Perhaps making a card like you suggested but I've got classes too and meeting with the Edu.Committee so I'll be cooking for her at my place, maybe a movie or two.......
I don't like myself, but many people like me. <_< Plus, it's just about not wanting to embarrass myself and look bad, though a friend has said not to care about that. If she can't accept you for who you are, then she's not worth the time, and I totally agree, but dude, women are my weakness. At work, I sometimes let them get by on stuff that I shouldn't because they're women, and they're usually hot. T_T
If greeting cards are required, make a card for her. You can even use a photo of you and her together and stick it on if you want! She'll cherish that too! And what food and what movie?

Food makes the difference, especially aphrodisiac food.
Well, I didn't want to go out or become one of those overly-cheesy couples. And what do you think of me? Of course I will cook. I'm a very pure and innocent person. I'm also an excellent cook.
Sounds like you two have quite the healthy relationship bb if you don't depend on dates that much, just go out casually because it's nice. But really, are you two that busy separately not to squeeze time in for a 'lil dinner? :P
You, pure and innocent? HAHAHAHA! That's like, eni saying she's an angel, or koen saying the same!
And I just read down and saw it was directed at bb. <_<
Gotta read the whole post....
