my friend is throwing a party, it's his birthday (coincidentally). So I might drop by, have a few drinks, socialize, and go back home a little early since I have an 8 o'clock class the following day.


generally I treat valentines like any other day. If I did happen to be dating a girl (I've been single for a while now, actually), then it's usually the girl who makes Valentines such a big deal. I just play along and pretend it's a big deal.

Yeah, I don't know many guys who make a big deal about Valentine's day. Personally I can't see what all the fuss is about.

Not that I'm not romantic, when you're in a relationship nearly every day should be Valentine's Day anyway.

Not really... way I see it, the best way to keep a girl is to keep her feeling special, and the best way to keep a relationship and marriage healthy is to keep showing some love, just common sense. Of course it's all moot if I love somebody so much that I'm crazy about them, which is what love is supposed to be all about.

Valentine's Day is just a holiday meant to remind the lazy boyfriends and husbands that, whoops, they gotta do something romantic. I agree with miyi, I treat it like just another day most of the time. Though I do tend to buy candy for myself on that day, lol.

And I definitely agree with GK. I think I posted something similar to that in the Hang Out thread the other day.

I have no significant other this year, but my dad always buys me roses and stuff =D

Valentines Day is the only day of the year where just friends can be converted into couples. Worked for me and I've seen it work before. So for the heartbroken, there is hope out there.

Me... I've got projects and other school work to catch up, "love" will have to wait.

I guess at least Valentine's Day is good for something, never thought about that. Guess it would make a good way to "break the ice" and see if there's possibly something more to an ongoing friendship.

I've never really started a relationship around this time so I've never really tried that yet.

I think valentines day is like an evil day for women to get their hopes up that a secret admirer will send them a bunch of presents. Yet in 2008 thats also deemed to stalkerish.. I dare say if i sent any of the girl 50 women I'm currently interested in flowers or poems they would probaby think i'm some sort of stalker.

Never actually celebrated this holiday myself. It's probably the single holiday that most makes people feel depressed. They probably should take it out altogether.

I don't feel depressed about it (though I don't have a girlfriend atm).

I don't know why but I don't care about a stupid commercial "holiday" (it's called a holiday but you have to work or go to classes over here).

In a very good relation: it's most of the time valentine. If you're romantic enough those stupid heart's day of love can be stolen (as today)

I don't really feel depressed about it, it's just another day to me right now. But at the same time I'm not going out too much on the same day either, unless I have a girlfriend, lol.

In my opinion, you should make her a card if you really like her. That shows you've put thought and time into it and that she's worth it.


I have no plans. Dunno what I'll do... but it's on next Monday, isn't it? I'll just be in class, I guess. Even if I did have a girlfriend, we'd have to go out after 10 PM since class ends at 9:45 PM.

Next year, I hope it's different.
