Do we even need a gaiden for Meliodas anyways? I think he is the only sin who doesn't need it. We know his sin was destroying Danafor and that while it happened, it was because of Fraudin killing Liz. Kinda kills the point of a gaiden nowadays imho, specially because I would say the interesting parts of his past are all related to his days as the leader if the commandements. The story itself has focused on his past for a while.

On the other hand we don't even know why Merlin is the sin of glutonny. Same for Escanor I guess.

Regarding the canocity of the movie, we will have to wait. It would not be the first time that a shounen author uses a movie as a media to tell a canon story. But if it doesn't fit wirh the main timeline, it could be similar to other films when the lore regarding the villains fit with the story itself but not the actual events of the film.

His gaiden will likely also be elizabeth's gaiden, their original lives during the war before they met, how they met and fell in love, which will also likely be merlin's gaiden how they met her and become her bro and sis..all of them can tie into one another as their pasts are connected...even dolor and glox's joining of stigma up to when elizabeth dies last during the war gripping mels hand

Yes, he is a Sin and the main character. He will have his Gaiden. The HW lasted long and this period is interesting, things are not that limited.

Meliodas being the odd one who just has one because of being the main character actually means we don't need it as I said right? Note that I didn't say we won't see it but that we don't need it (and knowing Nakaba it will probably happen, but I would not be surprised either if it didn't). It can indeed be interesting if it actually reveals new stuff but it would have not direct relation to his Wrath sin on Danafor.

Pretty munch. Mel and Liz don't really need gaidens due to how munch of this life and story are tied to the plot.

Im more concerned about their power in relation to the commandments. If they're even in the same league as the commandments one wonders how the Goddess Clan could even defend themselves against the Demon Clan, much less maintain balance when their only non-fodder were the 4 AAs (one of which is likely to be relative fodder for a portion of the day...)

Your assuming the Archangels are the only elites.
