And by the way, it's really hard to speculate on how will the guys at the storage room react to Teacher Kim's plan. I keep on thinking that Mio can beat him a fight but she can't clairvoyance him to death so she has no way of stopping him without hurting Eunju. Dawn has no reason at all to protect Eunju. In fact, if she had come across her in the hallways she would have just killed her like a fly. And even if she wanted to, she can't move right now because of levitation lvl 3 restriction. I don't think she wants to take the risk of letting Taebin go.
I agree. That leaves only Taebin for immediate rescue, or Dongtae if the teacher gets talkative and a long conversation ensues.

I wonder what the point of taking Eunju as a hostage is. What is in teacher Kim's mind?

i) Forcing Mio to stand still and not do anything until Dawn defeats Taebin/Mooyoung for good - this is my best guess. I think the teacher has decided to take Dawn's side and defeat Taebin. I am not sure how much of the conversation between Dawn and Taebin he heard, or what his ulterior motives are, but his intention is probably to stop Mio from throwing a Dice bomb against Dawn or something. The ironic thing is that I'm not sure Mio has any intention of saving Taebin in the first place... not to mention that a Dice bomb would also hurt Taebin.

ii) Protect himself from Mio - although I think the teacher is stronger physically, he doesn't know that. In his eyes, Mio is a Dicer and thus possibly a threat. So he may just want to use Eunju as a shield while he leaves the room.

So what can happen?

Well, if Taebin has any feelings left for Eunju, he may muster all his strength and teleport out of Dawn's Gravity Press range (if that is possible), and then proceed to rescue her. It has also been suggested he has a Level Three skill himself, so that may turn the tables.

If not, and if the teacher doesn't leave the room, then I imagine the only option is waiting for Dongtae.

Can Eunju do something for herself? I doubt it: even if she decided to become an A-Ranker for self-defence, Cloaking is the most useless skill for someone who is being restrained, because even if teacher Kim cannot see her, he will still know she is in his hands. And since Cloaking extends to the things being held by the user at the time of activation, the teacher would be Cloaked, too. Then he would realise she has an A-Rank Die and kill her to harvest it.

Well, I'll find out when I clean the chapter tomorrow and you, in a few days if everything goes well.

---------- Post added at 02:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 PM ----------

I just checked a random chapter ~40, the difference is drastic. Story always is number 1 for me, I might have to re-read it later on to get the full experience of the manga, not to mention the efforts you guys have put in to it. webtoons is not too bad, it has some random music insert, adds some dramatic flair to the story.
Oh, chapter 40 was done by Silent Sky, not us. If you go to their reader, they included the soundtracks. Silent Sky did the series up to chapter 51. Lonemanga did 51-56 and we did from 57 onwards (although our first chapters weren't very good as we were still polishing our Edited Manga skills). We do include soundtracks, but for quite a while now there has been no chapters with background music.

Chapter 112 is up.

Well, although teacher Kim has fallen to a new low, I'm sure most readers will punch the air in joy at seeing how he brutalises Eunju…

I also expect them to pour scorn in every single of her words, and call her an idiot for only realising the truth about Taebin now, as if she had to be psychic or something. They will roll up their eyes in disgust over Mio's having ended up like that trying to protect Eunju ("she isn't worth the effort") and see their assessment confirmed that she is a waste of carbon, oxygen and space.

As for me, I am pissed that Eunju didn't save Dongtae and it fell to Che-hyun to have the brilliant idea of using the sprinkler system as I expected. However, all is forgiven because I really like how much of a badass Dongtae has become and how cleverly the author portrays it. I am curious as to how he was able to parry Daewoong's attacks and how he will defeat the pincer attack by the two.

I am also curious as to just how far he will go in defeating them. Is he just going to knock them out cold? Or is he going to beat them beyond hope of recovery, i.e. causing their Dice to fall?

May I bring it up that according to chapter 87, Defence cannot earn Dice from PVP, and sure enough, even when he defeated Samsusaeng the first time, not a single Die fell. So unfortunately Dongtae cannot acquire Cloaking and Teleportation now, even if he wants to. Of course, he could ask for Che-hyun's help in the harvest…

The fate of Daewoong's Cloaking Die is important. If it ends up in Dongtae's hands, it means that the author has other plans for Eunju's Die, which grants the same skill. And frankly, I doubt that Die will end up in Mio's hands: not only does it make matters complicated for the grand plot of bringing two S-Rank candidates into existence, but it would solve nothing. Invisible or not, Mio would remain trapped in Dawn's gravity field.

I frankly see no way out of the current situation for Mio and Eunju. Dawn and Kim hold all the cards. Right now, it is only a matter of what will take longer to happen: Dongtae arriving there or Dawn completely defeating Taebin and Mio.

Well, I cannot wait for the next chapter.

At first I didn't pay close atention to the knife and I thought that he had actually stabbed her. I was like, wait what?! I stopped reading for some seconds and then I went back. Eunju dying here doesn't make much sense plot wise if we take into account how important is she to X and all that. I'd be really surprised (and sad, very sad) if Mio died here too, specially after Dongtae's promise of taking her to the Amusement Park, which will probably be the next arc after this war ends. Well, if you think about it they'll maybe reconsider the idea of dating after this miserable experience and the threat of the soon awakened Mooyoung, but who knows, they are just two silly lovebirds.

"I don't betray others....(unless they are old nice people)" Oh you Teacher Kim. Will Dawn accept your offer?
Her only goal right now seems to be killing Taebin/Mooyoung. She doesn't need Teacher Kim for that. And if she wants to pursue the final die after that, I doubt she will accept TK's help. She has big trust issues after all she went through. What about Samsusaeng then? She probably thinks he's dumb, easy to manipulate, not a threat at all, unlike a grown man, let alone a teacher who's using a female student as a shield. There must be a lot going on in her head though. Funnily, for the most part she must be confused. From her point of view, they are probably just three clowns who are getting in the middle of her revenge.

Good thing Eunju heard the truth about Taebin, that means she won't give him the die voluntarily. Seriously, if she's naive enough to go "oh no Taebin, I trust you, I know he's lying, take this Die!" I won't know what to think anymore. Anyway, the most possible outcome is that the Die will fall in M/T's hands.

Oh I'll be using this a lot

But seriously dude, show your skill already, reading "1v2 1v2 1v2" is starting to make me mad

Interesting. I personally believe that the A-rank dice are an exception to that rule, but what you think that will happen to the yellow dice if that was true? They would appear in front of them once the war is over?

Mio's message had a huge impact on him. It may had been the last push he needed to become resolute. Look how he went from "Everyone, I'll protect you" to "There's nothing for me to protect here".

An interesting thing here is: if not dying, what is Mio's role in the plot?

(Other than becoming a villain or another of my far-fetched theories.)

So far, she has been mostly an action girl who hasn't contributed significant insights to the major themes of the story. She is interesting as an illustration of how Dice can change your appearance, but not necessarily make you overcome your insecurities and self-esteem problems, but other than that she is just a female version of Dongtae, someone who fails to see the larger picture but is still uncorrupted by Dice.

I do like her, but I'll be disappointed if she is just a replacement for Eunju in Dongtae's heart. Besides, her being the only Clairvoyant so far makes it almost a certainty that she will have her Die harvested at a certain point.

I'm actually thinking that if Gravity Press causes enough Dice to fall off them, Mio and Taebin may begin to revert to their original states. Mio has probably fewer Dice than Taebin, who has Mooyoung's stock that is probably quite huge, so she will begin to show symptoms sooner. After all, I don't think Dawn plans just to hold Taebin there indefinitely: over time, the person under Gravity Press must suffer significant damage for it to be an effective weapon.

Good thing Eunju heard the truth about Taebin, that means she won't give him the die voluntarily. Seriously, if she's naive enough to go "oh no Taebin, I trust you, I know he's lying, take this Die!" That wouldn't be naïveté, it would be stupidity. The teacher has no reason to lie, he isn't even talking to her. She is probably asking that just to hear it from Taebin's mouth, but I doubt she really thinks it can be a lie.

The interesting thing, though, is that no one other than Mio knows Eunju has an A-Rank Die, or has any way of knowing. In teacher Kim's and Taebin's minds she isn't even a Dicer, so as long as she keeps mum about it, the Die is safe. Ironically, by not being a Dicer, unless X makes her into a target again, no one is bound to have an interest in harming her.

But seriously dude, show your skill already, reading "1v2 1v2 1v2" is starting to make me mad
My guess is Psychokinesis. I'm also curious as to why he hides his skill from Dongtae. I understand the logic of being discreet about it, but by now mutual trust should be enough for him to take part in fights at Dongtae's side?

(Or maybe he is just waiting for Dongtae to defeat other nuisances before betraying him? He is Attack, after all.)

Interesting. I personally believe that the A-rank dice are an exception to that rule, but what you think that will happen to the yellow dice if that was true? They would appear in front of them once the war is over?
I dunno, your guess is as good as mine. Personally, I think if Dongtae beat an Attack member enough for Dice to fall, perhaps they would return to X instead of falling off, or maybe they would be awarded collectively to Dongtae after the war was over.

Mio's message had a huge impact on him. It may had been the last push he needed to become resolute. Look how he went from "Everyone, I'll protect you" to "There's nothing for me to protect here".
True, although that may be just because everyone else has already evacuated and it is obvious that at this pace Attackers have no chance of winning the third period anyway: they have only beaten five people or so and a period lasts the same as an average high school class, or about 50 minutes; they must have been fighting for 15-20 minutes now, and I doubt just Daewoong and Samsusaeng can hunt down 59 people in that huge school. Dongtae may be simply convinced that Mio deserves his immediate attention because the others will be able to stay safe.

And I say "Mio" and not "Mio and Eunju" because I think by now Eunju is no longer a concern of Dongtae's any more than ordinary students. Dongtae seems to have misinterpreted Mio's message and to have concluded that Eunju is an hypocrite who ended up becoming an A-Ranker after all she spoke against Dice.

As to whether he will actually fight for A-Rank Dice… the problem is, as I said before, that after defeating those two, Dongtae will have to make the decision of actively hunting down other A-Rankers, even if they are not hostile to him. It's all very well to acquire the resolve to deal a critical blow against an enemy, but it's a whole new game to hunt Yellow Dice… and it will mean Dongtae will be acting in the same way as Mooyoung. I don't think Mio's message is enough to elicit such a change of heart. It would take something more momentous, like losing Mio, for him finally to snap.

(It's interesting that many Eunju-haters seem to want her to be the sacrifice that will make Dongtae snap… because they won't miss her and that would kill two birds with a stone: they would get their standard badass, no-holds-barred hero in a vendetta, and they would get rid of the character they hate the most. However, precisely because he has let go of his infatuation with Eunju and is drawing closer to Mio, in terms of dramatic irony, tragedy and to drive the point of Dice as evil home, it would make much more sense that his new love interest and a person who sees eye-to-eye with him in all that concerns Dice were the tragic catalyst instead.)

I'm not a hater but I'm glad Eunju go punched her naivety can be a little annoying at times. I think she needs to mature a bit.

- I found it funny the teacher says I don't betray others while holding a knife to teenage girl hes holding hostage..that spells trust !

- In any case I think Clairvoyance is actually one the best A rank abilities if you put enough points into psychical skills & Int to make the most of it.

- Cloaking plus Clairvoyance would be great for Mio since her fighting skills are a bit lacking.

That's more or less what I think Mio's role in the whole story will be. I don't think she will become a villain (as in separating from Dongtae's team and pursuing the final die on her own) but she's probably going to back out in the last minute when she realises that Dice will stop existing. Will that take her to oppose the good guys and eventually die? Probably, but that plot twist won't happen if Mio dies right now. And going back to the secondary romance plot, putting an end to the love triangle when it had just been formed seems too abrupt.

If Dawn and TK were the only levitation dicers, they losing their dice would break the game though. If your theory is correct then the second alternative is the viable one.

Oh that must've been it then. He said it so solemnly that I thought it was a way of saying it.

About Eunju no longer being a concern of Dongtae, I'm not so sure about that. I don't think he's the type to go around drawing precipitate conclusions. That's why he went on and fought Taebin just to know why he had broken up with Eunju.
Although he's definitely urging to go where she is and ask for an explanation.

Okay, let's try another approach to this.

The definition of naïve: "foolishly credulous or simple"

According to that definition, Eunju is the least naïve person in the whole story. She isn't the one who believed specious promises from a supernatural entity, who swallowed the notion that quests could be harmless and who did everything X wanted them to do, willingly or not. Ultimately, all the Dicers are naïve to think they can solve their problems taking shortcuts. Isn't that what X says in the end of the first season: "time to wake up from your dreams?"

The only one here who wasn't dreaming all the time is Eunju.

The definition of immature: "lacking emotional or intellectual development"

Eunju is the only person in the story who was able to see beyond appearances in the case of Dongtae and Mio. She is also the only one who understood that one cannot put an end to one's own suffering by making other people suffer. She is the only one who understood that both Attack and Defence were playing into X's hands. She is the only one who understood that the only thing that will change in the end are the Dicers themselves. And she is the only person who wasn't thinking only of herself all of the time (even Dongtae, in the beginning, was thinking only of improving himself). Finally, she is the only person who is facing her problems in an adult manner, by hard effort and keeping her head on place. She is the only one who hasn't been fooled by X at any moment.

Again, the Dicers, Dongtae and Mio included, are vastly more immature than Eunju, both emotional and intellectually.

I don't know about you, but the reason many people hate Eunju is that she is... good, honest and stubbornly upright in keeping her morality and values. She is annoying because she makes everyone else look bad, including us.

Ah, yes, incidentally, why didn't I think of this before? The reason Dongtae could tell where Daewoong was coming from was because the idiot kept shouting while attacking. :facepalm

Eh? Is Eunju THAT hated by people? This comes as a surprise to me, tbh. I'm sure pretty bored of all the BS to get Eunju to roll a dice when it seems to be estabished that she will NOT fall for it. But Eunju is the one character who hasn't bought all the awesomeness (obvious trap) of the dice and, as Kendama says, keeps a rational approach to the events. Sure, you can dislike the fact that she's useless in a fight (no dice = you're fucked) and this makes her an obvious target and the Lady in distress that needs rescuing all the time, and it is because of her that Mio is now in trouble, and Mio is very likable. But really, Eunju NEEDS to be in this story to contrast everyone else.

It does look like Dongtae thinks Eunju went hypocritical on him, but as soon as he finds out that she has, in fact, not used the dice, he'll regret having doubted her and will go back to liking both Mio and her and soap opera drama ensues. It'd be a shame to kill Mio here, but Dawn is a walking proof that you can stay alive even after losing your special dice (and you may in fact get it back somehow), so my call is that Mio will not die here... but she might go back to her rather poor looks, forcing Dongtae to value her for who she was in the beginning (and in addition, to understand Eunju's point of view on people being precious even without dice).

As to the current situation, Dawn may have both Mio and Taebin pinned and the teacher is offering her support, but I doubt Mooyoung is remaining dormant for long and he has time pause. I wonder if Dawn's skill will still affect you when time's stopped. Alternatively, couldn't Taebin himself use his instantaneous teleport to move out of the gravity zone? I think he's in there mainly because he's still in shock at himself for having been such a huge pussy*.

*I've been dependent on a crazy bitch and codependent with another one, so I can understand Taebin wanting to keep something from his happiest times... but Mooyoung HAD destroyed the entire perfection right in front of his eyes. When these bitches hurt me badly, I went into HATER mode on them as soon as it happened and the rage lasted for a while. I did end up regretting it and wanting things to go back to what they were (I'm very happy i'm no longer like this with anyone), but as soon as it had happened? Have some dignity, bro. My call is that Taebin *really* had some romantic, strong feelings for Mooyoung in addition to the dependency.

I'm starting to think that the new chapter isn't up yet because all of the Dicers dropped X's game to play Pokemon Go

Nah, Jin is just busy. As usual, we will make an announcement if we find there will be a delay.

That's perfectly understandable.

(Although I'm pretty sure Che Hyun would be pretty hyped about the game)

Chapter 113 is out, finally.

I don't have much to say because, due to the time it took to scanlate it, I have already cleaned 114 and know what will happen.

So: I really liked the fight of Dongtae against the two, it was dynamic and also hilarious. Daewoong never ceases to give me a good laughter.

I was wrong about the third period, it seems. The other Attackers are acting and the way things are going, they might actually win the round.

As for Dongtae, his actions are still random… one moment he is acting pragmatically and Defending, the next moment he puts the girls' safety above that of the rest of the school… he says he doesn't want to play X's games, and yet fails to recognise that X looooves when he does unexpected things and in any case Dongtae is just a pawn in his game anyway.

And Mio is a total idiot. What on Earth did she spill the beans on Eunju's having Dice for? Can't she realise that she is still trapped in Gravity Press regardless of whether she is visible or not?! Now teacher Kim knows about the Dice and Eunju will be forced to do something in a disadvantageous position. And Eunju is the fool, so say her haters! Go figure… Mio is to blame for everything that happens now.

Well, at least the Dicers who have some chance of stopping him are getting more and more pieces of information on X himself, which may prove useful. They now know he is the one who possess the Final Die, and Mio is wondering whether he can change the world right now. Sometimes I wonder about that myself… what does it mean? X doesn't seem to have godly powers, even though he is very powerful. Is there something that is escaping us? Why does X snigger at Dicers like Dongtae who believe in Dice as a means to solve people's problems?

Still many unanswered questions, but I get the feeling that we have started to move towards a resolution of this series. The author is still in control of his plot, and I'm more thrilled than ever!

Not much happened in 113 except we learned there is someone else on the attack team stepping their game up.

Well, Mio seemed to have in mind that Eunju's die could somehow solve the situation (perhaps if she just disappeared, Dawn could have been confused
for a moment and wondered if mio had teleported away, used time pause and left, etc). What Dawn and the rest woul have seen would be nothing but a die being rolled, and Mio disappearing after that. The way she went about it was kinda lame, though.

From Dawn's words, my guess is that X does indeed have the power to change the world... but he doesn't want to. This world is fun to play with, so he decided to simply keep playing and playing. he doesn't give a damn about the goal (changing the world), but he loves the path (seeing people overdo it for that power).

Chapter 114 is out.

I am imagining that the "Eunju filthy hypocrite" crowd will have a field day now. As if Eunju had much of a choice!

It's interesting the author cornered her in a situation in which their decision was inevitable - unless she wanted to be stabbed. Mio was being really annoying: what difference would Dongtae's arrival make under those circumstances, considering he hasn't a single Die to use Time Pause on? OK, she didn't know that, but then again she had no way of telling how soon he would arrive (or not), so she wasn't doing anything other than buy time and wait for a miracle… only the one whose life was threatened was Eunju, not she.

And I would like to add that Eunju wasn't just slapped in the face and humiliated. She found that Taebin was not in the least worried about her, but only focused on getting her Die. That from the only person to give her the acknowledgement she had craved her entire life must have been the ultimate disappointment.

So she decided to stare into the Abyss. The author has gone all Nietzsche on us: "he who hunts monsters must beware of becoming one himself". So now the story will be in part about whether Eunju will really become corrupted by X; embittered by being hated by all Dicers; or whether there is any salvation possible for her.

If she turns on the A-Rankers surrounding her, including Mio, she will have clearly chosen the first path. All the four skills she needs to take X on are in the room right now, and they are not in a position to take her on.

But I don't think that will happen. For one thing, it would be very weird if the plot contemplated the possibility of Mooyoung awakening, but it never came to be because Eunju defeated Taebin before he had the opportunity to collect the fourth Die.

Interestingly, we have been hoodwinked by the author. We always thought that even though X generates the quests and says desire is what fuels them, he is more or less impartial in the distribution of quests. Clearly this is not the case: he plays favourites. He wanted Eunju to become a Dicer so hard that when it happened, he used her bottled-up desire to fuel a succession of quests that were pretty much completed on being given. Some may think of it as an Ass Pull, but it isn't: I point to chapter five as my evidence. X gave Dongtae extremely simple quests in the beginning, including one that was pretty much an Easter Egg hunt for a Die. Granted, they didn't come with big rewards, but it should be clear that even Dongtae's desperate desire to leave his bread shuttle life is nothing compared to Eunju's much greater, existential desire that was forged through a prolonged ordeal and for which she is ready to sacrifice her own soul.

It's also interesting that technically, she is a bit like teacher Kim. Because she is a newly-born Dicer, she doesn't have many ordinary Die points and would theoretically be weak. However, because her second skill is Psychokinesis, that makes up for her physical skills which are still merely human. So she is arguably the third strongest Dicer right now, after Taebin/Mooyoung and Dongtae.

However, that could change very fast. Because Eunju wasn't a Dicer at the moment the War Quest was announced, she isn't bound by its rules. This means she can turn on the Attackers and harvest their Dice, something Mio and Dongtae cannot due because they are Defence. Just taking on the ones that deserve such a fate, Samsusaeng and Kim, would already earn her two more skills at no moral cost. As I said before, I don't think she will turn on Taebin, so she might stop at four skills. This would make her much strongest, even though her position in the A-Ranker ranks wouldn't change given the enormous advantage Time Pause confers on Mooyoung and Dongtae.

Of course, now everyone will be waiting for Dongtae's arrival and reaction.

Oh, yes, a few interesting but comparatively minor things in this chapter:

i. X has shown himself to Eunju. That's how far he is willing to go to lure her in. He totally has designs on her.

ii. We can see Mooyoung reflected in Eunju's eyes. This is probably just symbolism on the author's part, much in the manner how Taebin saw his previous self in that sniffling, loser of a kid who had stabbed him in the Long Day Arc.

iii. Apparently, Gravity Press doesn't completely immobilise the caster, as Dawn has managed to clamp down on Taebin when he tried to approach Eunju. But it seems to be true that moving around too much (maybe trying to leave the radius of Gravity Press?) will lift the effect.

Lemme see… what else? Ah, yes, the author obviously has watched Brian de Palma's Carrie. :XD

And why the hell is Samsusaeng still wearing that stupid mask?

I can't wait for the next chapter… now more than ever.
