Kokkuri-san only came out on the 22nd, it could be higher next week. Agreed that it's hilarious, although I keep wondering how the hell some of the jokes would work in the volumes since it really seems to make fun of being in a magazine a lot lately.
WSM series aren't that high profile in general, I mean, sure, series like Nanatsu or Fairy Tail sell great but most of the series in the magazine sell around 40-100k per volume (at least the decent sellers)
So it isn't a wonder Acma Game survived this far with such sales
I read the first chapter like 2 months ago & thought it was a solid meh. not bad & not good. just meh
maybe it's because I'm just so sick & tired of the mmorpg premises in manga or maybe because art was not appealing at all
I just couldn't get into it
those sales are very impressive, It made me feel like I'm missing out on something great, maybe I'll give it a second chance in the future
There is obvious reason for not being on the list. And that is because the list covers sales from "This list covers sales surveyed from November 17, 2014 to May 17, 2015." so anything sold before that is not included. Volume 32 of Toriko came out on November 4, meaning whatever sold until November 17 is not included and that's majority of those 257k sales. If v32 showed on this list, it would have been with sales only generated after November 17. Proof to that is lots of older series volumes, like Assassination Classroom, which 1st vol is at 98th place, selling almost 300k. While in reality total sales for that volume are likely more than 1 million right now. Otherwise v32 of Toriko, is quite likely more than 320k right now, maybe even close to 350k.
The other thing I'm not sure is if digital sales are included. As much more and more people are starting to purchase digital books. Which results in lower physical sales.
Oh thanks Unok.
I also wondered how My hero academia vol 1 could sell less than the other 2 volumes, but now it makes sense.
That means vol 1 of MHA already sold close to 400k which is really impressive.
