Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Not as high as the Jump manga but it is always nice to see quality manga like Subaru Moon, Piano no Mori, and Ushijima-kun chart. If someone started Editing Ousama Game I would definitely read that.

They were releases on December 2, so that means they had 3 days to accumulate those sales.

After seeing this week's tank sales, I can say that Amazon ranking is not that very good source to predict tank sales.

There is a manga god and he actually cares. And is a man or woman or incomprehensible abstract being of good taste

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Two series I read in the top five this week, that is a pleasant change. I can not think of many series as deserving of being a hit as Chihaya, easily one of the best serialized manga at the moment. And as a Kodansha series that means this is only a fraction of the weeks sales, I hope that means the anime has boosted popularity. Volume 14 sold 223,663 in two weeks, hopefully number 15 tops that!

I would not trust any sales figures about those manga. Oricon did not track manga sales until March 2008, before that total sales were not tracked. Specific distributors would release rankings of their top ten, but those lists did not reflect national sales accurately. Better to look at a series like Ao no Exorcist to see how an anime can boost a manga.
