Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

How muck did a single volume of houshin engi sold?

This is the only one I could find.

Houshin Engi - 1～15 - 13,300,000

Houshin Engi sold 890,000 per volume. That is currently better than every series currently serializing in Jump with the exceptions of One Piece, Naruto, Bleach and Hunter.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Houshin engi has 23 volume. But the sales are very good. I realy want to see another manga in jump based of chinese novel.

Impressive debut for Kagami. 44,125 is comparable to first week sales for Mago volume 1, which shipped 48495 copies in it's first week. Sales are actually higher than Medaka's first week, and not that much lower than Beelzebubs. This is a very good sign for the long term Kagami's long term viability. But it is not yet beyond the wrath of the TOC: Double Arts #1 sold almost as well in it's first week with 40644 copies shipped. Should it become a permanent fixture in the bottom five between now and the release of volume 2 sales will not be enough to save it. But ss long as Kagami's TOC position remains as it is now expect a steady increase in sales along with a gradual improvement in TOC position.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

A new manga selling 40 000+ copies is definitely pretty impressive. Hopefully Kagami can keep this up and find a way to hold on to the tankobon readers.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Sales definitely saved it from the next cut. Two series that sell less and poll lower. A no brainer there.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Odd, Jojolion #1 went ALL the way off the top 50 then went all the way back UP to the #18 spot.
(Because of that, your total is wrong, Negative Syndicate. It had 200K+ when it went off last time.)
I guess not much new was out this week.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

The total for Jojolion should be 258,880 copies (according to ANN)

---------- Post added at 10:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:08 PM ----------

The date is wrong too. Should be January 9 -15, not January 2 - 8.

Marginal seller, at best. Volume 19 sold 42,656 copies it's first week http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/obc/w/2011-11-28/more/3/ It fell out of the top 30 after a single week. I don't know totals for volume but it is not like it holds that much meaning, probably less than 100,000 per volume.

While that might not sound like a lot it has been enough for Baby Steps to remain serialized for four years with no end sight.

Well, perhaps in the beginning of the serialation, the sells was much better as now. Because with not so much copies, it could be axed for a new manga.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Shounen Magazine does not work that way.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

By the way, many of the manga are listed on ANN with a + after them because they were on the list, then off the list, then back on it. That's besides Jojolion, because of the fact that not much came out this week.
