Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Speaking of which, it's nice to see it in the top 30. I dunno if it's been out for a week yet, and I dunno if any other volumes got within the top 30. I know a couple got into the top 50.
That's based on four days sale. Also, this is a first time Doubutsu no Kuni ranked into top 30; a last volume did manage to ranked in top 50.

I almost didn't notice Coppelion being in the top 20! I've been sorta struggling through the raws and enjoying the bit I can read, so it's nice to see it still holding strong (Despite kind of becoming a battle manga lol. Gintama was right, most of the time manga become battle manga after being seralized long enough.) I do wonder if they'll ever do the anime like they planned? The Japanese wiki says 'indefinetly cancelled.' so....

That's right, the anime was put on hold after the earthquake. Still to soon, I guess. Edited Mangas of the manga have resumed, I'll start reading it again eventually.

well cage of edens sales is a little lower then i thought but its higher then code breakers though i guess that might explain why it hasnt gotten a anime yet despite being over 150 chapters.

Well, the tank sale is nothing to do withe getting an anime or not. Some series have even lower sale than Eden, but it still has gotten an anime.

true though i wouldnt be surprised if a anime has been offered since it has quite a bit of merchindise appeal given all the extinct animals in the series could be sold off as toys of course i dont know how much people in japan are even interested in that kinda stuff so who knows.

I'm not sure, if they really want to make the toys about extinct animals, then they should just made it or did it by now. Do they really need to wait for Eden to become an anime in order to make toys?

Most series sell worse^^ Never forget that there is an insane, massive amount of manga published. There are 1000's of titles published a year by publishers both big and small. Most never even come close to selling 50,000 a volume. While that would not be enough for long term success in Jump, Magazine maintains plenty of series that sell below 100,000 copies per volume.

I'm not inclined to think that Cage of Eden toys are imminent either. Maybe some nendroids or something like that if the anime is popular.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Woo, Toriko got all the way up to 375K. The previous record was less than 350K, it's getting better. (Though last time it came out with the fanbook, which also sold like 70K+ so it's hard to judge that one in terms of sales.)

Nice to see Billy Bat doing well. I hope it eventually gets an anime. Being a bi-weekly series it probably won't be until near the end of the story, though. So they can do the entire thing like with Monster.

I haven't heard of Hoozuki no Reitetsu before, and it's a new author, but it seems to be doing really well.

OP can't break the 3 million mark? Or it did already and I just don't remember. Yaay for Toriko for getting closer to Gintama.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

One Piece already broke 3 million mark. Just see the list on February 13th ~ February 19th, One Piece volume #64 total sales.

It isn't the first time for One Piece

Cage of Eden doesn't have over 150 chapters. It has 144 chapters, though Chapter 145 is usually out by this time (which is strangely isn't - is the magazine on break or are the raws just delayed?)

I'm not inclined to think that Cage of Eden toys are imminent either. Maybe some nendroids or something like that if the anime is popular.
Hmmm, Cage of Eden hasn't had much merchandise, but it has some. They include:

- An extra story about the characters in their school life.
- Three cups of different characters/animals.
- A key-chain and pad of Oomori/Rion (I don't know what it is, but it's advertised in Chapter 50's colour page).
- Lastly, a colouring in book.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Nah, it just sounds low. Volume 53 sold 248,429 in it's first week on the charts, after a similar number of days. It ultimately sold the 550,000 or so copies now typical of Bleach. This volume probably will too.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

As I thought, Bleach's sales have not declined. Two week sales for volume 54 are a little higher than volume 53. Not dramatically higher, within the same range but still a little higher.
