To be pretty good, glad its still a strong series even this year.

That 24K barrier is pretty high, I imagine that is why Tokyo Ghoul and Haikyuu!! arent making an appearance this week.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

I'm especially glad seeing Inu x Boku SS in the first place, great end for a great series, and Isshukan Friends sales, the anime had an impact on it most likely.
It doesn't matter much though, it is ending in the next volume. Gotta read it.

Anime effect for Nozaki-kun! Really glad to see that, a very funny anime.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

One Piece is going off the list without coming close to 3 million. That's a sizable drop even though the sales are still huge. I'm expecting them to reduce the initial print to 3.5 million soon.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

A sizable drop from what? It stayed in the Top 50 a week longer than the previous volume. The sales of the last 5 volumes all have a similar pattern. They have debuts of about 1.5-2.0 million (depending on the number of days), stay in the Top 50 for 6-10 weeks, and then fall out of the Top 50 before hitting 3 million (generally 2.5+ mil). The news of the 4 million print run for Volume 73 was because of what was going on in that volume story-wise. The sales situation with One Piece has been the same for well over a year now.

It's the not first time a volume has gotten an announcement like that. Volume 64 was the first 4 Million first-print run for a manga and that was 3 years ago. That doesn't mean every volume gets the same amount, since I don't think it'd be worth announcing it for them if they decided to print less, lol...

True. It's not a certain thing that all volumes get that print.
Still, Volumes have been dropping out of the top 50 with lower and lower sales. Last year, Volumes usually touched 3 million or at least 2.9 before falling off. Either way, it doesn't matter. 2.6 million is nothing to complain about :P

IIRC Haikyuu was out 1 month before Kuroko. Kuroko usually gets to ~600K in 3 weeks, HQ's first 3 weeks got it to ~450K

Was quite sure he was suggesting that the newest volume of Haikyuu!! released this very week could surpass the performance of Kuroko.

Pretty impressive for snk. it sold over 800k copies in just two days not even including the vol 14 limited edition sales, I wonder if people will still make the excuse that the series is only selling off hype even though the anime has ended nearly over a year now. Since volume 13 had little to no action in it. and the same for volume 14. I guess the people that are reading the manga are reading it for the story and also for answers.

and Haikyuu!! is selling pretty well as well.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

10.　103,119 103,119　Kangoku Gakuen Vol.14

I wonder how much anime will help since it already sell well. maybe it will be one of best selling seinen manga.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2014] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 6

Haikyuu!! has certainly surpassed the 4.5 Million copies sold this year and I estimate that it already sold 5.4 Million copies this year! With those numbers it will most definitely be in the TOP 5 of the rankings!

August 4 to 10 sales:
*3.　441,563 443,458　Haikyuu!! Vol.12
40.　*27,316 625,409　Haikyuu!! Vol.11

I wonder, I guess it depends on future Seven Deadly Sins performance, as top 6 is probably a One Piece, Attack on Titan, Kurobas, Tokyo Ghoul, HQ, Magi? Seven Deadly Sins shuffle, and if some darkhorse like Terraformars becomes a force to be reckoned with.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2014] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 6

Haikyuu!! will definitely sell more than Tokyo Ghoul this year! Tokyo Ghoul boost is even inferior than Haikyuu!! boost and Tokyo Ghoul Boost will have less time than Haikyuu!! given that the first started in the Summer and the last in the Spring Season!
Same thing with Terraformars and Seven Deadly Sins, even if they get an Attack on Titan boost(probably only Terraformars, Seven Deadly Sins will most probably be the next Fairy Tail selling around 500k per volume) it will start at the Winter Season, so Basically one month before the rankings.

The Top 10 will most probably be:
1º One Piece or Attack on Titan
2º One Piece or Attack on Titan
3º Kuroko no Basket or Haikyuu!!(Is still possible for Haikyuu!! to reach the 8 Million mark until the half of November)
4º Kuroko no Basket or Haikyuu!!
5º Magi or Naruto
6º Magi or Naruto
7º Silver Spoon or Assassination Classroom
8º Silver Spoon or Assassination Classroom
9º Terraformars or Fairy Tail or Tokyo Ghoul
10º Terraformars or Fairty Tail or Tokyo Ghoul

Note:
- Terraformars(10th: 3.6 Million) and Assassination Classroom(7th: 4.6 Million) last year were already in the Top 10! Yep, before having any anime.
- Last year Haikyuu!! was in 22nd position with 2.1 Million copies sold, Tokyo Ghoul was behind it in 27th position with 1.7 Million copies sold. Seven deadly Sins wasn't even in the Top 30.
- Last year Silver Spoon ranked at 6th with 4.9 Million copies sold(true that right now the manga will release less often, but I believe it will not have a huge impact this year.
- Last year Naruto, even though the quality, ranked at 5th with 5.6 Million copies sold.

- Tokyo Ghoul in this half year ranking was only at 26th position with 1.2 Million copies sold
- Seven deadly Sins in this half year ranking was only at 23th position with 1.3 Million copies sold
- Haikyu!! in this half year ranking was at 11th position with 2.6 Million copies sold(yep better than all last year)
- Terraformars in this half year ranking was at 13th position with 1.8 Million copies sold
- Assassination Classroom in this half year ranking was at 9th position with 2.8 Million copies sold(yep, already that huge number)
- Silver Spoon in this half year ranking was at 8th position with 2.9 Million copies sold.
- Naruto in this half year ranking was at 4th position with 3.2 Million copies sold.

- You certainly overestimated the value of Tokyo Ghoul and Seven deadly Sins and underestimated the value of Terraformars, Assassination Classroom, Silver Spoon and Naruto. Ah, and Fairy Tail as well!
- Also even though the boost is not visible yet, Ao Haru Ride is in the way to become the next Kimi ni Todoke, and get itself into the Top 10. Possible already this year.

Bleach didn't release this month. It had some print issue and therefore was postponed to September. Bleach will have back to back volume releases in September and October.
