Seeing as what you posted earlier was from the 10th and what was just posted by waveblade was from the 9th, I am leaning towards fake/changed as well. Especially when Kewl just said that it hasn't finished so that was probably our provider correcting his earlier post saying that it did.

Making my comment about the fake Psyren cancellation announcements even more hilarious here if that is the case.

Looking at the recent RAW, it doesn't look like it will end next chapter but we shall see. If it isn't the case, the bitter tears and frothing at the mouth shall amuse me to no end. The hate brigade will keep on marching.

That's fake. It's not from a post originally by "◆EizHb38XPU", it's someone pretending to quote him. ◆EizHb38XPU's real post came a few hours after that one saying Medaka wasn't over and the sho-neta wasn't coming today.

In other words, the one someone posted in this thread earlier actually came after that one, and said it (the Medaka is ending one) was fake.

I actually sort of like Lock-On now. I get that it currently has little direction, and yes...it's another School Manga on top of Sket Dance, Medaka Box, and Beelzebub...I just think it's sort of unique. If I were to judge it through the first 10 chapters, I would say that maybe it's overly simplistic in art and story, but other than that I enjoy it.

I don't know, reading your comments, if it's a fake, but, if it isn't, I think Shinigami had to drop, not Medaka.

What´s with the Medaka Box hate?

Its been hated since day one regardless of any improvements its made in the past 35-40 chapters so its nothing new. Its one of those series that is never going to please everyone so its better off doing its own thing and telling its story anyway.

Ironically and actually scary enough, I pretty much view Naruto in almost the same exact way these days. Not that I enjoy the series anywhere nearly as much as I did say 7-8 years ago, but it is definitely in one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenarios among WSJ readers.

I must disagree with you Medaka wasn't hated from the begining. It became hated by everyone when the author gave up on plot wich was somewhat interresting to become a sell out who turned it in to a cliche batle manga.

I think people hating medaka are quite prejudiced if they haven't read +/- 20 chapters of it.

I do not consider medaka as a very good manga but it isn't as worse as some other shounen series are at this moment. Medaka box is entertaining enough and it has a STORY at least. Medaka's change of genre was to be expected since the manga didn't do well during its sket dance - let's solve the problems - genre. The action itself isn't too serious which makes it all acceptable imo

and medaka box has a very intriguing character, going by the name zenkichi. A character you don't see a lot in shounen manga nowadays

Medaka won't end, that was a fake news post. There was already a space so only one series needed to end. The second new series is filling the spot taken by the winter run of one shots. After every run of one shots a new series is added without canceling anything.

No, that is a misconception. Many people hated it from the start because "It was another stupid ecchi/romance manga" and as many in this thread should know, there were many crowds(at that time anyway) that voiced that opinion and others who weren't as obvious about their disdain. Some were here, but many were saying as much on the LJ WSJ community and Kaiten himself referenced that as well.

Then when the episodic chapters(that gave hints/built to the current plot I might add) gave way to the current plot the romance and ecchi crowd threw a bitch fit over this. They viewed it as an act of betrayal but when you get lines like "I'll train you(Normal person) hard enough so in 6 months time you can beat him(A genius)" and "We take on anyone's call for counseling or anyone's call for a fight! Regardless of what the conditions are!" in chapter 6 those are flags you pay attention to. The conflict of geniuses vs. normal people was always a theme since the beginning.

What I feel that many people forget, partly because of Bakuman sadly, is that shounen manga have this happen plenty of times and it isn't always just because a manga may or may not be in danger. There are times where creators may want to go in a certain direction from the start but aren't allowed to right away for whatever reasons. Executive meddling is most certainly a possible factor. (non Jump example, Mahou Sensei Negima anyone?)

Here is a Jump example. For anyone who only read the first two volumes of Yu Yu Hakusho(which is the first 17 chapters), and did not look at the anime at all, they can not tell me that they expected the rest of that manga to be nothing but constant fighting and tournament arcs. I say this because those first 17 chapters have even less fighting then Medaka Box does at that point and Yusuke was just going around doing good deeds to get his body back. There were hardly any physical confrontations at all unless you want to count the chapter where Kuwabara let himself get beat up to protect his friends. After that point, YYH could just have easily been a Yankee manga with Botan and Koenma constantly making sure he stayed on the right path after reviving or something. That obviously wasn't the case though.

I feel that if you have a manga with over the top characters that can pull off over the top feats from day one(Oh, hello there Reborn!) that the battle manga route may always be a possibility for a series and it may not always be a bad thing or even completely unintentional.

And Medaka Box is not in the bottom. Since Psyren and Mago won't be canceled in the place of the other manga here, this is just fine with me.

I'm hoping Issue 26 covers its anniversary. Hilarious that a fake cancellation announcement was out but the series isn't even in the bottom 5 this week.

Though now that Hettapi has ended, I have to wonder if that means the mangaka will fully work on something else now. Be it in WSJ or a magazine like Jump SQ.

Hettapi runs once inconsistantly a month and is 7 pages long... So... it's not so much canceled as just over.

Rest is common. Nurarihyon's lower than normal, though it used to get around there when it had first started, I think.
