It actually looks like from the article to be a completely different series. I guess he's gonna do two?
Previous one was just an one shot. So, Murata going to do only one series. Since he did released it in Young Jump, I just predict that he'll be serialized in Young Jump.

Nisekoi and Pakki are in good middle range. Let's see how long it will last

Ok whatever. Someone else traslate it.

Nice to see Toriko in second.
Good to see Gintama high and Nisekoi seems to be doing well. I hope it succeeds.

And for the first time in a while, Stars isn't last. Still doomed though.
The rest is pretty average. Magico seems to be surviving into the long-run. Kurogane isn't failing either.
Medaka and Kuroko may go up once we get to the start of the animes in April.

And Negative Syndicate, you skipped Bleach. It's after Reborn. It also says "Special Project" after it.

I think Magico is safe for this round of cancellation. Let's hope Magico stay in that place.

Also, I think only St&rs going to end this round because only long running series are staying at bottom 5 (except St&rs). Plus, the editors put one shot that means there are room for one more extra series. So, I concluded that there going to be one series out and two new series going to join.

That oneshot only has room because Bleach is absent though. I think two series out, two in seem more likely. Stars and something else.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

I didn't include Bleach because it will be absent until issue 11 (it was already announced) which means there aren't going to be chapter. Bleach on that list will most likely about just ads on "special project."
The special Bleach project is an omake containing the events of some of the things that happened to the Gotei 13 in the 17 months that Ichigo was absent from Soul Society.

I forgot that. But, I really can't see anything else besides St&rs to be axed/end. Magico begins to stay away from bottom 5; Kagami, Kurogane, Nisekoi, and Pakky are not doing bad to be axed.

So, I'm not sure which series will be end/axed besides St&rs. Unless Nurarihyon's relocation to SQ that everyone is talking about may become reality.

So, is that means there going to be normal 19 pages chapter or just ads?

I have no idea, the preview page was way too vague >.> We will probably find out tonight sometime.

Onto the topic of series cancellations, ST&RS is of course a goner. Nurarihyon no Mago just entered a new arc so that should be pretty safe. It will most likely be Kagami, Magico, Pakki, Kurogane or Nisekoi.

The batch of new series won't begin until Issue #12 (Bleach will without a doubt have the Issue 11 Lead CP) so it gives a decent amount of time for one of the newer series to drop.

I don't think they will be considered to be axed because they aren't doing bad to consider to be axed. Plus, Magico is beginning to avoid being included in bottom 5. So, I don't think 2011 groups (except St&rs) will be axed on this round.

I don't see it being Kurogane, Nisekoi, or Packy because all three just received colors for doing well. There is still a chance but my bet is on either Mirror World or Magico regardless of how high they may climb occasionally.

No special chapter for Bleach, just 5 pages of ads, infos, sketches, drawings, and Kubo's notes.

I don't know why people still counts the "one-shot space" as an empty space in the magazine. Shonen Jump always had one-shots, even when we have the same number of cancelations and new series in a round.
Even if one series ends now and two new series come in, this doesn't mean that we won't have one-shots until the next round of cancelations/new series that would "open a new one-shot space".

"Typically" though they usually stop running oneshots around the time new series start and really come back as cancellation time rolls around. Of course we don't know for sure. Although it does seem like they attempt to keep the number of pages around the same for each issue.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

Interesting rankings this week. Kinda sad to see Medaka in the bottom five but it's not really a big deal at this point since it has anime immunity.

On the note of future cancellations though, I would say that Magico is a contender. Sure St&rs is obviously first to go, but Magico doesn't have much going for it other than occasionally not ranking in the bottom five. It's tank sales haven't really gone up since volume 2(not to mention all of the other newer series other than St&rs seem to have higher tank sales), and given that it's typically in the lower half of the magazine they probably wouldn't get any better without JUMP making an attempt to save it.

If there's more than one new series next round and HxH doesn't go on another hiatus I'd say Magico is a goner.

Hunter X Hunter is always near the bottom... people don't vote because votes wont[as he has a special contract] lead to a cancelation and dont matter to Togashi anyway.

SASAKI_HisashiI am from the previous century, so of course I prefer reading manga in print forms than digital forms.

But still, have no objection against digital manga. In fact, digital is so useful to spread the manga all over the world.

We must take advantage of both print and digital version in order to spread manga as it is.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

looking back at ane doki, everything could happen in the next round. they can run a safe strategy and call it a day and harisugawa is safe, or they can axe every new series until they find a new hit and hope they do it before a lot of major series end in the next 3 years. BUT i don't see how harisugawa can reach more than 3 years without becoming dull, same goes for nisekoi.

Kagami volume 1 sold very well debut standards, Kuragane, and Niseokoi have had very good early rankings. I am still sure that they will cancel Magico along with St&rs. As Divinenega said ranking sixth and eighth from bottom for the last two weeks are the only positives for Magico in the last three months. Volume sales have been miserable without any sign of rising, it has only been out of the bottom five for two weeks now, and the series below it are poor cushions. Medaka and Kuroko have anime coming in April, they obviously will not be canceled any time soon. Whether ranked or not everyone knows that Hunter x Hunter will not ever be canceled. Nor will Kochikame, also in the bottom five this week. Unless sixth and eight from bottom count for more than we think Magico is the most likely to end with St&rs. Predicting that only a single series will be canceled this winter would be horribly naive. I would not even acknowledge the post if someone predicted that. Kurogane is the only series in 2011 that did not debut as pair. But it came exactly two months after the St&rs/Kagami pair and nine issues before Nisekoi/Paki. Even if Magico was magically saved by only a single series debuting, it would be in danger again within a couple of months when the next pair debuted.
