They already announced in the insert texts that they're just releasing volume 1. But the fact that they're doing it when only about 14 chapters are out means it's being pushed. Also it's said stuff like "make sure you reserve it because they'll probably get sold out" in the insert comments, too.
Oumagadoki also released early, but it doesn't have much push compare to Enigma. Also, volume 1 of Light Wing also going to release same date as Enigma.

Don't forget: late night anime are generally more famous and popular than the day time shows. Haruhi, Gurren Lagann, K-On!, Bakemonogatari, Clannad, Nodame Cantobile, Nana, and Durarara all aired after midnight.
Actually Gurren Lagann started off as a morning anime that happened to have racier moments...like that one episode with all the bunny girls. It's just one of the few times that something more mainstream crossed over into the fan community.

Yeah, Gurren actually aired Sunday mornings I believe... It's just Gainax made it seem like it should have been a late night show.

Though as one other said, Jump stuff normally get prime time slots (Or morning time.) So the late night thing is sort of irrelevant to them.

Yup, Oricon (and all tracking services) track how many copies are sold to retailers. Copies sold to consumers are only tracked by the stores, those numbers are rarely made public.
No, Oricon (and most other tracking services like them) track what is sold to consumers by gathering detail from retail stores who are partnered with them (and generally estimating sales from chains which don't report to them). Their business model is generally based on then selling that data back to the publishers (who would have no use for a tracking service that simply tells them what is sold to stores).

Yes it's fake. They changed the 0 to a 1. January 4th is a Tuesday. WSJ is released on Monday. It's the same ad from last year.

Not much I imagine, people are working it up to be way bigger than it probably will be.

I think it might have considerable amount of impact will occur in Jump.

Does anyone know how PTAs and human rights organizations view Jump, since they are in favor for government intervention?

well according to an article from ANN,
===========================
Shueisha senior managing director and editor Kazuhiko Torishima said at the New Manga Creators Awards ceremony on Monday:
“I want new manga authors to produce manga that would blow away [Tokyo Governor] Shintaro Ishihara.”

Masahiko Ibaraki, the editor-in-chief of Shueisha's third editorial department, added to the new manga creators,
"Don't let the chilling effect [of increased regulation] stop you from doing material you want to do. Jump will feature anything [we feel] that is exciting [to read].“

from ANN

looks like Shueisha has a pretty strong opposition :D

I wouldn't worry too much since JUMP will likely keep on with what it's been doing even if this bill is approved on Wednesday. Several publishers and Shueisha's anime department have already boycotted the Tokyo Anime Fair( a huge money maker for Japan), and the Prime Minister himself is against the bill. If more powerful figures step up in opposition then I'm pretty sure the bill won't get voted for.

From how it sounds, the Tokyo mayor is rather old fashion and just never understands manga/anime no matter how much everyone, from the industry to even the Prime Minister, tells him otherwise. Sometimes it's just a matter of someone who doesn't get it trying to force it on others...

But honestly I don't think it's going to affect Jump. I say if something happens, then maybe Shueisha and most of the manga publishers just run to another part of the country that isn't as bound by such stupidity.

Toriko is definitely going to become a anime being worth to watch. I am very glad that they will animate toriko and I am also very glad that they awaited long enough till sufficient material was guaranteed
